They probably have to make the golden pack change because there's a set every two months and everything is still new, more power to the players to actually collect! I never understood why this digital game made it so hard to "collect" (besides the obvious of they want you to buy gems to crack packs / get wildcards)
My goal is to spend 50k gold in buying packs and about $40 in gems by drafting per set to get 90% of a set. With 6 sets I might sit out two sets and just use wildcards on the 20-30 cards I need from those two sets. With wild cards I should still be able to build any top standard deck I want.
If you click on the gems as if you were going to buy the deck, it'll show you which cards are in the deck, and which ones you already own. I don't think there's a shortcut to actually cloning the deck.
I didn't really get a chance to build my collection of duskmourn , foundations dropped way to fast for me . Any tips on how to build or go back to collecting a certain set again ?
If you really don't have much of Duskmourn, you can do draft games when they come up to give yourself a boost. If you don't like drafting, then you could just use wildcards to craft specific cards you want. The only other option is to buy packs, which won't give you golden pack progress at the moment (which is about a third of their value), or wait until they make the change that all Standard set packs will give you golden pack progress so you don't miss out on that extra value.
I play a lot with the starter decks and a bit of standard. I can make quite a few decks but starter decks seem the most fun to just log in to play a couple of games. The power level is low and you have fun playing a full game that goes a few turns.
Me too. I think they did a particularly good job with the current set of starter decks to make them fun to play against each other. It would be nice if I could convert all my useless rares/mythics into cards that are actually playable, similar to Master Duel. They probably won't ever do that...
It's hard for me to be excited about Foundations on Arena because of this. There are so many rares in that set that are already on Arena and I already have 4of so a large portion of the set is just dead for me.

As long as you complete the daily quests and play 4 or 5 games a day, and check daily deals every day, Arena is pretty awesome. Jump In is a solid way to build a card collection, and getting golden pack progress for buying packs from a broader range of sets would be amazing. That kind of already happened when Bloomburrow and MH3 were both "current". With Universes Beyond in the mix, it makes sense that I might want to focus on Foundations packs for longer, because I'm not interested in Marvel, or whatever. The combination of integrating UB into standard-therefore almost forcing us to play with cards from IPs of which many of us aren't even remotely familiar with, let alone care about-as well as the ungodly lack of time between sets being released is the final nail in the coffin. I guess it's time to dust off GWENT yet again. Somehow, a game that is no longer even supported by it's developers is seeming more and more enticing with each of these misfires from WotC
It would be nice if I could convert all my useless rares/mythics into cards that are actually playable, similar to Master Duel. They probably won't ever do that...
@@TheDasErdinger probably not.
It's hard for me to be excited about Foundations on Arena because of this. There are so many rares in that set that are already on Arena and I already have 4of so a large portion of the set is just dead for me.
Its actually going to be 19 standard sets per rotation because of foundations
Yes that's true, it will be up to 19 sets until 2029 when Foundations finally rotates out.
Foundations come with a starter kit. Will we be able to buy the starter kit in Arena or will we have to open boosters to get these cards ?
I believe Foundations will work like any other set on Arena, you'll be able to collect cards by drafting, jump-in events, buying packs, etc.
@ except that cards from starter kit are not draftable. And given they are all reprints, I would feel bad if the foundation booster packs were diluted by the starter kit cards
Might as well go to Magic Online, I just wish I could play it on iOS
What would make Magic Online better for you?
@@gameschooldadMTG Never tried it, but it seems better, especially if it ends up costing less because I only need to buy the cards I wanna use.
@@cavejohnson4054 I don't know how much it would cost to play MTGO, but Arena is free...
Ty
I couldn't keep up it's too much to do
I think mastery pass gonna be much worse, since you wont have more than 60 days worth of making progress, gone are the days with over 100 items to unlock.
@@RadicalSpikee when the sets and the mastery pass are shorter, you don't miss out on any rewards, you just get the rewards faster.
@@gameschooldadMTG I think you miss on some, especially if you are free to play. I might be wrong but when you had 100 boxes to check free to play would go to like 70 or 80.
As I said I might be wrong on that one.
Biggest challenge for me is probably around drafting more/better, and shifting from Bo1 to Bo3.
They keep treating the consumer like crap and everyone keeps spending money on it like a moron.
I only care about getting cards. Arena is toxic enough with all the roping we don't need emotes at all especially when you can't even make friends on the app
@@luckybones8749 treated like crap in what way? By providing too much product? There are some downsides to it, but no one is forcing anyone to buy everything. And I wouldn't blame Arena for the toxicity of the few immature players who intentionally rope, that's not their fault.
I don't think people are grasping that the power levels going up in standard allows you to take cards into explorer/pioneer, and with pioneer masters coming they are making non rotating eternal formats easier to get into
I was already at a point where I was thinking it’s become too much time and money to invest to keep up with Standard with the horrible current state of play (ie turn 2/3 wins) , but these changes were the nail in the coffin. ⚰️ Time to uninstall.

@@tripleS88 thanks for your comments, I'm glad my content has been helpful to you. I'm still convinced playing casually/on a budget is still 100% viable even with these changes 👍
Personally the worst part of Arena is the lack of variety because of a slowly changing meta. With the increased amount of cards the meta will change faster and there will be more "experimental" phases before things settle.
People bemoaning "keeping up" are strange because you don't need to have everything immediately, get out of the FOMO rat race and life will be more enjoyable.
This is such a balanced take. Just because there is a set doesnt mean you need to craft every rare and mythic.
Arena is a literal mobile game cash grab. Idk how anyone can dump money into this trash fire.
@@TapTwoCounterspell and everyone is entitled to an opinion.
So many people complaining about too many sets. Listen to this. YOU DO NOT NEED TO PLAY EVERY SINGLE SET. Take a break. We aren’t poke masters. You don’t need to catch them all. That is just your ADD telling you to collect everything
In theory, maybe but in practice they are constantly pushing power levels and this means you need the new cards to be competitive in constructed formats
Dead game, dead IP
Seems pretty alive to me.
Build a deck. Play a draft. That kind of silly stuff.
