    This is the most comprehensive review of this product. Boss should pay you some commission :) I've been on the fence to purchase this product for months because I couldbn't find a review that "sold" me on it. Here I go, spenidng another $300+ (That'd be including the pedal) Thanks!

    Awesome! I really do appreciate the demo because I recently purchased the Boss DR-01S Drum Machine and I'm loving it so far. Thanks. Also I'm going to purchase a BOSS FS-7 Dual Footswitch. Thanks.

    As a solo acoustic/electric performer who sings, I love the sound choices and combinations possible on this! I really want to buy and use it live, but having to fumble with the unit for various things is a no-go that breaks the flow for the audience. Only 2 functions switchable by foot leaves too many necessary functions for changing on the unit. Ideally, there should be a companion multiswitch for preset changing, tap tempo, start/stop, pause, user-selectable (as chosen for each favorite) hit sound and even add/take away alternate sound. Then it would be truly usable on stage.

      Thanks for the comment Scott and for subscribing to our channel! I've been 'barking up the tree' of Boss making a footswitch-able rhythm machine, the same way they made the VE-8 which is essentially the pedal form of the acoustic singer pro amp. Thanks for your input, I appreciate it!

    Thanks for the great video. I have been looking for a drum machine such as the one you demonstrated. I have an Alesis S-16 but I find there are not enough usable presets. I do not want to get into programming a drum machine... So my question is how many preset rhythms are in this machine. I cannot seem to find the answer by googling. I only need basic country, folk and classic rock styles and my S-16 does not even have a waltz beat.

    P.S. I’d propose a Boss FS-6 footswitch over the FS-7. Also runs on batteries, and the side-by-side switches are easy to hit.

    Hi! Thx for the great demo! Question; I know nothing about these electronics, but would like to buy one with the foot pedal for a friend of mine who I know would love it. Can you tell me exactly what kind of cord I need to purchase to connect the foot pedal to the DR-01S? Looking for a 10 footer.

    Can custom rhythms be programmed? I can see that it allows you to flag certain rhythms as favourites, but I am assuming that these are just favourites of *pre-programmed rhythms only*. Is that correct?

    • @MainStageMusicTV
      @MainStageMusicTV  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Howdy! Thanks for the great comment and also for subscribing to the channel. As you can see, there isnt a multi function pad to tap in custom beats like the drum machines olf yesteryear had, so as far as custom rhythms I havent seen a place to do that. I also havent seen any place to import rhythms from a remote source. The rhythms that are on this are fairly standard, popular rhythms that work for most folks though. If you need something that does offer custom rhythms we also sell a rhythm machine by Korg called the KR-55 you may like.

    I just got my rhythm partner and LOVE it. I would be great fun if you could recommend some drum patterns for calypso, country, rock….. I find it hard to match a pattern to a song. Do you know of any lists of drum patterns? Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi Brad. I have a question regarding the Boss DR-01S. I want to use it live in performance. I have the count-in programmed. I want to have a break (using a footswitch pedal). When I re-enter the rhythm (by footswitch) the count-in comes on again. I don't want this, I just just want the rhythm to resume.

    • @MainStageMusicTV
      @MainStageMusicTV  ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question! The problem, obviously, is that t he machine cant read your mind. If you have the 'count in' programmed in when started, then it will do exactly that. What you would like is more of a 'pause' button versus a 'stop'. Thats a feature that the guys at boss likely wouldnt do...but a work around may be to have an AB switch inline with the output to your PA. That way, when triggered, it would effectively mute the drum machine signal. pressing it again would then unmute it. Not a perfect solution, but its worth a try. Thanks for watching! Hope you follow our channel! We have all sorts of cool content planned. Stay tuned!

    How do yu operate that while playing guitar, if yu want to speed up or slow down ?

    • @MainStageMusicTV
      @MainStageMusicTV  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thats a great question. Most people donnt change the tempo or time signature in the middle of a song, so the engineers who designed this didnt provide a feature to do that 'hands free'

    • @jandeband
      @jandeband ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A lot of guitar players besides me, start slow the speed up, but regardless, very distracting fiddling with knobs and buttons while concentrating on singing and playing, maybe i need to invent my own pedal

    • @MainStageMusicTV
      @MainStageMusicTV  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jandeband Innovation usually starts when someone cant find a product that fits their unique needs! This unit, with its built in speaker and so on, it likely designed more with the Home player in mind. Roland does make some cool other drum machines and arrangers that are much more feature packed and offer more footswitchable options

      This was not said, but you can assign tempo change (up/down) to the foot switch. Also note that if you create favorites, each favorite also saves the tempo along with the rhythm pattern!
