The harmonies sound so electronic compared to TC Voicelive 3 Extreme unit. Alas, that one does seem to be attached to an instrument.
Thanks for the comment and for subscribing to the channel! I dont think I've ever seen a 'side to side' demonstration of the two units....probably because TC Electronic (being part of the Behringer family of brands) doesnt allow their products in any USA retail outlets, where customers can actually engage and experience them before purchase. I know a TH-cam video leaves a lot to be desired, that being said, we have had only positive responses on the customers who have bought and used these. But hey! People experience things in different ways, which is what makes the world a wonderful place! Thanks again!
@@MainStageMusicTV thanks for taking the time to answer and demo this too. It does look like it has some positives for sure.
Great run though. Learnt a lot , down under
Thanks for the kinds words and for subscribing to the channel! We appreciate ya!
Do they have a full upright option, meaning with an upright body? These things are fun to ride but don't get caught with one in public.
Thanks for the comment and for subscribing! This is the only variant that Stagg offers, honestly Im not aware of anyone who makes one of these with a full upright body....It seems it would defeat one of the biggest benefits of this in the compact nature of it. But hey! Im sure if you dig deep enough you will find someone who offers one!
@ I was thinking you could make it removable, to fit any occassion. I like the onboard electronics the stick provides, I wonder if they just sell the bridge/pick up system, maybe I can outfit it on an upright
@ The other benefit would be little to no feedback
@@eli_the_crypto_guy Hey man.....If they can send a Tesla roadster into outer space, I'm sure a guy can attach a pickup to an upright bass! LOL
@@MainStageMusicTV Heck yeah we could have a semi hollow body upright! I play wth guts right now and when I play with a band it's feedback hell
Is that really a P90 pick ups?
Thanks for the great comment and for subscribing to the channel! I guess technically the only pickup that can be called a P-90 is one manufactured by Gibson....this one is made by Tagima in the style of a P-90 (an overwound Soapbar shaped single coil pickup) and I guess I just did the 'lazy' thing by calling it a P90 which is what is commonly done these days with ubiquitous items.....kinda like calling a copier a 'Xerox' machine, or a tissue a 'Kleenex'. Thanks for keeping me 'in check'!
Why don’t you give the current price ? This guitar doesn’t sound all that great .Lack of a tone pot is a draw back .Very interesting and thorough video .very informative !
Thanks for the comment and for subscribing! The average price on these guitars these days is around $4000-4500. The lack of a tone pot is a bizarre omission that Gretsch did back in the day. I cant figure out that one either, but I am looking at that question with a 21st century perspective. I'll be making more 'Vintage guitar voyage' videos soon! Stay tuned. Thanks again.
I play songs in different keys on guitar. Do I have to change the keys manually every time? Can it be changed with another pedal? Otherwise it would be a drag playing live with it
Thanks for the great comment and for subscribing! I completely understand your question and concern, as I kinda touched on that in the video. This unit is designed for vocalists first and foremost....a vocalist has to trust what key a song is in....a guitarist who sings has the freedom to change the key with a capo if they want. This unit has internal memory, so ideally, you set the key when you are choosing which setting works best for each song. No different than building an effect setting in a guitar pedalboard, just with the added step of putting the 'key' in. If you sing/play the same song in a different key every time you perform the process of changing the key is really simple, you just highlight the key on the screen and use the select dial to change the key.
@@MainStageMusicTVI never change the key of the songs. It is just That I play a lot of songs during my 3 hour gigs and some of them are of course in different Keys. So you mean I should just make a setting That works for every song i c, every song in E minor etc? I Guess That could work if the key is saved With the settings of each user preset
@@rytmigo Thats actually a good idea! You could make user settings named what key it was....Ive also seen people just put the user setting the name of the song on the setlist. Whatever your method, the results are worth it. We just got in a fresh shipment of VE-22's....you should snag one from Mainstagemusic.com!
Where can this benpurchased in México?
I wish I knew more about where guitars could be purchased in Mexico...We are in the USA. Thanks for the comment and for subscribing!
Hi, where do you buy the strings?? I Just buy one buy there are nylon and in want Steel but are very shorts
Thanks for the great video. Do you think the harmony on this pedal is better quality / more accurate than the VE-8, since you manually set the key on the VE-22? I'd like the VE-8 for the guitar effects but I'd rather focus on perfect harmony as a priority.
Thanks for the comment and for subscribing to the channel! I have used the VE-8 for years as a solo acoustic guy....Its a great product, no doubt. That being said, the VE-22 is a more advanced harmony and effects vocal processor, whereas the VE-8 offers a layout that is more geared towards guitar players... it has more (albeit simplified) features than the VE-22. So I guess it depends on whats most important to you. If you want a simplified acoustic DI, FX unit, Looper, Mixer, Mic pre, and harmony unit, Buy the VE-8 (from Main stage music of course!) but if you want a much more advanced VOCAL only processor/Harmony pedal, the VE-22 is superior. There will be more programming for sure, but there is no debate as to which one has more advanced harmonies, effects etc.
Want to sell your Pepsi?
My lovely wife of 28 years bought that for me to commemorate our 20th wedding anniversary. As they didnt offer the Stainless Steel Pepsi back in 2016, she had to secure a reputable broker to find a vintage one for me. I'm a guy who wears his watch daily, so it needs to be tough. These are amazing timepieces for people who work for a living. Thanks for noticing (And hopefully for subscribing to the channel!)
@@MainStageMusicTV Great watch, great story! Wear it in good health! Sub’d
Loving my Cole Clark Studio Auditorium in African mahogany, bought it and gigged that night- plays great, and the plugged-in sound sold me. Seems rock solid and barely went out of tune on a hot sweaty gig.
Thanks for the great comment and for subscribing to the channel! We love what Cole Clark brings to the table...they arent copying any other brand, and yet they still have a great look and tone1
Also thanks for the heads up on Deluxe Amplification. I’m in Nashville myself so will check them out.
Great video! Just snagged one! Excited to receive it! Any idea which songs Ritchie Valens recorded with them? Thx!
Thanks for the comment and for subscribing! I dont know which songs Ritchie possibly recorded with his H44, but I'll look into that. There are several pictures of him with one though. It looks like his was refinished, which was common to do back in the day
You forget the Fischer Amps made in Germany which is a tank built quality ! Thé ROCKBOARD seals flimsy next to the Fischer which also includes a limiter for protection. I have both.
Thanks for the great comment, and for subscribing to the channel! Fisher Amps stuff is INCREDIBLE quality. That being said it is also triple the cost, and doesnt quite have the distribution that others have, so many people dont have access to see it in person, unlike the other items. Regardless, youll agree that these 'in ear' preamps are an amazing option for performers wanting a great option for high quality and lower cost monitoring. Thanks again!
Very nice presentation! Thank you very much. It´s great!
does this provide monitoring system in live performance? through its phones/line out?
i mean if i have only earphones, is it possible ?! or should i buy iem system like cloudvocal-eversync?
Does it do polka beat? Thank you. Oh! and how loud is it??
Power supply came with mine from Sweetwater, the only thing that doesn’t work proper is the 2 foot pads.
Thanks for the comment and for subscribing! When this video was made, yamaha wasnt including the power supply, they made the change now where they are including it! Score! We havent had any issues with the pedals, but its electronics! Stuff happens!
I bought HH65 and KU100 pedals for it, what a difference!
Thanks Brad from Main Stage Music. Really appreciate the great video.
Thanks for the compliment! and for subscribing to the channel! I appreciate it!
I have a 1950's kay Airline arch top acoustic
Thanks for the comment and for subscribing! Those old Kay/Airline guitars are great!
Yes - I have that exact Wildwood Coronado ! Nobody loved them in those days... ( me too ! ). But - real lovely guitars... so well build, so much fun to play !
I’m an average skill guitar player at best so I know this guitar won’t make me sound like Clapton but is it worth buying a used one for $400? I have acoustic electric guitars plugged into several different amps and so far I only play at home so the need for the bulit in amp effects are not a necessity but I am really intrigued by the technology and sound of it. Thanks!
Thanks for the comment and for subscribing! These guitars sell new for just under $800....so if you can snag one for half price, I dont know how you can go wrong!
@@MainStageMusicTV Thanks for your advice!
What specs/type power adapter do i need? Thanks
thanks for the comment and for subscribing to the channel! This runs on a simple Boss PSA120 9v center negative with about 300Ma
Sure aint inpressed with the one i got. Worse fit and finish guitar for the $$$ i ever bought. Pretty much unplayable without having it worked on. Gonna lose money on this one
Thanks for the straightforward comment, and for subscribing to the channel. Our shop is in Tennessee, Im not sure where you are located, but if you were here local, I would love to see the issues you are dealing with. I know how frustrating it is to deal with QC issues, thats why our shop is very detail oriented and also features a full service repair/service shop to ensure the guitar is setup properly before finding it a new home. Its fair to say that with ANY product manufactured by ANY brand, there will be the possibility of a defect with materials or process. Thats why its important to deal with a shop that knows their stuff. Im sorry you are experiencing problems with your Cole Clark.....our general experience has been very positive.
What model you bought and could you tell me your experience with it?
@@truechamp3404 We have received many models from Cole Clark, and to the point of the previous comment, WHERE you buy your guitar is important! ANY brand of acoustic will require maintenance if kept in a less than optimal environment such as a dry climate or in a non climate controlled 'warehouse' setting like many large online shops have. Before shipping any guitar, Main Stage Music makes sure the guitar is setup properly, neck straight, action low, and any fret sprout, or other issues common with acoustic guitars is remedied. Its obvious that the shop/website the previous person purchased the guitar from didnt do any of these checks before shipment. That being said, The fundamental build quality of Cole Clark guitars is very high, and these require only the same minimal maintenance any quality instrument does. If you are ever in East Tennessee, we would welcome you to stop in and check them out in person....if you arent local to us, you can rest assured that we make sure there is nothing wrong with a guitar before shipment....something that is impossible for a large 'fulfillment center' style store can do. I appreciate your comment, and hope you subscribe to the channel for more great content!
Give me solid Rosewood without a pickup.
Howdy! Thanks for the great comment! Rosewood is an amazing sounding tonewood....they only offer it in the TransAcoustic line in the "LL-TA" version. Its essentially Yamaha's storied Dreadnought-esque LL body, but with all solid materials. The back and sides are Rosewood, the top is German spruce. You'd probably love it!
Made in China
Thanks for the great comment and for subscribing to the channel! Yes, this guitar is manufactured in China.....no different than a lot of high quality products. One key difference is that Yamaha establishes a very high ISO manufacturing standard, so their consistency and overall fit and finish are extremely tight, unlike some other brands.
Everyone states peddles suck BIG TIME HOW MYCH TO UPGRADE SINGLE BASE AND DOUBLE PEDAL
Thanks for the comment and for subscribing to the channel! Honestly the cost of a double kick pedal can vary from $200-over a thousand dollars depending on the model you choose. The trigger that you would connect to this would likely exceed the cost of the unit. I think if you really needed that option, you should think about snagging a 'level up' electronic set.
Yes they do 😒 u hooked up a guitar band pedal to it, so much better
Google HH40/HH65 and KU100 (together cost almost as much as the DD75 where I live)
This is an excellent review. So informative. Very very well done!
Thanks for the nice comment and for subscribing to the channel! We appreciate it!
I bought one of the 1984 designer flying V’s new in Waco tx. Absolutely love this guitar! Pretty cool to listen to the designer of these guitars!
I also have the flyer too!

That lil amp is so beautiful !!! I need this entire rig so bad !!
Aww thanks for the comment and for subscribing to the channel! We'll have more 'vintage guitar' rundowns coming soon!
This is the most comprehensive review of this product. Boss should pay you some commission :) I've been on the fence to purchase this product for months because I couldbn't find a review that "sold" me on it. Here I go, spenidng another $300+ (That'd be including the pedal) Thanks!
Aww thanks for the great comment and for subscribing to the channel! We appreciate it! Remember that you can buy all this great Boss stuff from Main Stage Music!
Good video man
Thanks man! We appreciate the comment and for subscribing to the channel!
Hi Great video - But can it be used with a SM7b ( the old one that needs the preamp)?
All mics require a preamp, the SM-7b is a popular choice with podcasters, due to the spartan nature of many podcaster setups, the cloud lifter in line preamp was born. The VE-22 has a little sensitivity knob on the back that will boost the SM-7b mic plenty. give it a try and report back to us on how it sounds! Thanks for the great comment and for subscribing
@@MainStageMusicTV Hi - Thx a lot for the reply! I will surely give it a try after I buy it - Jesus bless you.
Thanks crew!
Aww cool! I hope we accurately represented your great guitars in this video! If there is anything inaccurate, please feel free to chime in further! Happy to have you as a subscriber!
Compression?
Thanks for the comment! I dont think this unit had built in compression.....and I say that with a bit of confidence in that I own one, and did a gig last month and my monitor mix was distorting like crazy until I added compression on my channel in the mixer! LOL.
I would be so mad if this was all we could get. This doesn’t sound anything like an actual upright at all. If u save up all you can and get a Yamaha silent bass
Thanks for the comment and for subscribing to the channel! Only an actual Upright Bass will give you the 'true' tone and presence of an upright bass! No argument there. That being said, this is a respectable alternative. In this video I wasnt using any EQ or preamp that would also likely help sculpt the tone. Anyways, I appreciate the discourse
@@MainStageMusicTVI am currently saving for an Ibanez eub. To me they are the 2nd best. Right behind the Yamaha. But I also don’t feel like taking 30 years to save up for it. I do not know if I should go with a 4 or 5 string.
The Boss VE-2 meets my minimal needs except to one thing. I want to be able to toggle back and forth between two presets, one for the verse, one for the chorus within a given song. I need to be able to easily, quickly do that without a lot of tap dancing. Is there a way to do that with this device?
Thanks for the comment and for subscribing. The VE-22 here has an easy way of doing that...simply program two user presets next to each other and use the last two buttons to toggle between them. The VE-2 (which may have just been a typo on your end) doesnt really have presets like that,
@@MainStageMusicTV You are correct. No presets. It has 4 memory locations but you have to scroll through them in order. Too much tab dancing.
@@tommc49 Gotcha. This video is for the VE-22. I also have a VE-2 video, I was just confused as to which one you were talking about
Wow, thanks so much for this vid, I normally don't sit through these, but sure did here, very informative.

Is there a country train beat?
I see you didnt get an answer! Im wondering if it also has a Country / polka beat?
@ Who knows? It would be nice to get an answer. Good luck!
I own one my father had for years!
Thanks for the comment and for subscribing to the channel! Yeah, these little guitars are cool as heck and a great piece of Rock n Roll history!
Hi! Thx for the great demo! Question; I know nothing about these electronics, but would like to buy one with the foot pedal for a friend of mine who I know would love it. Can you tell me exactly what kind of cord I need to purchase to connect the foot pedal to the DR-01S? Looking for a 10 footer.
Sure! We can help you get everything you need at Mainstagemusic.com! Reach out and we will get your order put together for you
They sound so robotic, all of them….so fake….🤦
Thanks for the comment and for subscribing to the channel! I think I understand what you mean.....This is a digital effect, so it is, in fact, fake....but another conversation to have is how 'perfection' is what humans perceive as 'fake'.....just like those AI images that are all being passed around. That being said, its still a great tool to use for musicians who need harmony but dont have the luxury of having other musicians to play/sing with.
@@MainStageMusicTVcan this plug into the boss rc-5 looper? Is it possible to over dub tracks on a loop pedal like the boss rc-5 when you want to record vocals with the ve-22 instead of guitar?
@@theKJV Thanks for the great question. There is a looper built in, as was somewhat demonstrated. I reckon you could further loop if you ran the RC-5 after the VE22 in the chain. Give it a try and tell me how it worked out for you! I love seeing how creative folks can get!
Your way out of tune
Thanks for the comment and for subscribing to the channel! Yeah, the problem with doing 'live streams' is that there isnt the luxury of correcting little issue like that! But hey! I appreciate you pointing it out....it will help me 'be better' for next time! (BTW its 'You're' not 'Your' LOL)
HOLLEY COW big bad john excellent great demo this is the best demo iv seen on here .. thank you so much im sold
Thanks for the comment and for subscribing! Support small biz.....When you're ready to order, be sure to snag it from Main Stage Music! Thanks!
Isn't it reeeverb?
Can somebody please just shut up, plug in an acoustic, play and sing through it at the same time!
Thanks for the suggestion! Yeah, this was a livestream, so we were trying to just go through the broad specs. We demo the unit in the shop all the time...it's great for busking, and if you need louder, Id recommend the new ThrashGo as well. It's a 12" speaker so it pushes more raw volume. Thanks for subscribing!

Recently ordered one to dip my toe into upright after many years as a bass guitarist. Looking forward to learning what, in many respects, will be an entirely new instrument.
Thanks for the comment and for subscribing to the channel! Im sure you will love it once you get the hang of it! I hope you bought it from a Independent music shop and not some Billion dollar corporation!
I’m planning on getting one of these soon. After tax and warranty I’m gonna have to pay 800, luckily I’m spoiled asf so I got 500 for my birthday. Also now that I’m 14 I can get a job, so once I get one I’ll be able to afford it. Looks and sounds awesome, thanks for the helpful video, CANNOT wait to get mine!
Thanks for the comment and for subscribing to the channel! Youll really love the bass....and earning and saving up will make you love it more! Anything unearned is unappreciated! Well done!
