    Hi, great video well explained. Having pir boards in top of the concrete slab; would that be suitable for having gym equipment on top. Thinking treadmill, squat rack, plates bench etc concentrated in a particular area.

      It’s absolutely fine. Put 22mm t&g moisture resistant boards down if you want to be super safe but we’ve used 18mm with no issues 👍

    Great video and thank you. I am planning on building my own and just wanted to ask why your method installs the floor later, as most I see do the floor first ?

    • @creategardenrooms
      @creategardenrooms  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As we do a concrete base this is really the only feasible way. If we were doing timber base then yes floor would go down first then walls ontop.

    Hi, id really like your input on my build please.
    My floor is a wooden base supported by concrete pillars throughout.
    I used 100 mill insulation between the joists but it doesn't have a foil back, im about to put 18 mil OSB sheets over the insulated frame.
    My question is should i use foil vapor barrier or breathable membrane before i lay the OSB on top of my insulated base.
    Thanks, im a bit lost on it.

    • @creategardenrooms
      @creategardenrooms  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Breathable membrane would probably be best. facing outwards so any moisture inside can escape but will not let any moisture in coming up from the floor 👍

    With the plaster now touching the floorboards do you need to leave a gap to stop any potential damp creeping up?

    • @creategardenrooms
      @creategardenrooms  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      There will be no damp on the floorboards!! If there was then there’s big problems.
      There’s always a gap left between the floorboards and walls, it’s so the floor can expand and contract 👍

    Does chip board expand with the seasons?

    • @creategardenrooms
      @creategardenrooms  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would of thought it’s marginal. It makes sense to leave a small gap around the whole perimeter to allow for this.

    I notice the glass on the door and window is covered in condensation. Is this going to be an issue. I pulled a damaged panel off my shed wall and under the insulation the wood was covered in moisture and mold. I've put in more facia vents.

    • @creategardenrooms
      @creategardenrooms  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The plaster is drying! Going to be a lot of condensation until it's dry

    I have a question - do you think, the same kind of insulation on the floor can be in gardenhouse above cellar?
    I mean what you use -
    1. plastic separate foil
    2. PIR insulation
    3. OSB
    I allready build one cellar and next step is to build some gardenhouse, dimensions are prox. the same.
    Thanks

    Do you have any ventilation

    • @nickfraser1259

      Big window on there for ventilation, I'd imagine it has a trickle vent aswel.

    Do you not need to Foil Tape the joints?

    • @creategardenrooms
      @creategardenrooms  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Can do but the sheets are pushed tight together so I’m not entirely sure what the point would be 👍 Not sure a thin 1mm piece of tape is going to do much!
