    Piece of cake. Anyone can do it. All you need is a bag for all the parts and a good mechanic to put it all back together for you.

    It's like working on an Iphone. A million nuts and bolts all in different sizes. I'm very glad I have just a little 1.6 TDCI engine.
    Why the need for such a comprehensive system? What are the emission specs of the engine with EGR deactivated?

    Nicely done. can someone explain to me how I can disconnect the intercooler hose going to the intake manifold? I tried to push and rotate but it seems im missing something

    • @dmdaithim

      Turn it clockwise fully and then push it downwards.

    • @MrYeah88

      @@dmdaithim thank you. so no need to push anything? Just turn it and it will unlock by itslef?

    • @dmdaithim
      @dmdaithim 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MrYeah88 No, turn it all the way clockwise. Push down on the pipe then. Or pull down if you are working from underneath.

      I got a check engine light at 68 000 kilometres. But i still have warranty on my car. And carbon build-up was the problem. It depends on how you drive the car

    • @JamesSmith-gc4tv
      @JamesSmith-gc4tv 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      With the carbon build up, it depends on driving style. I'd say every 20k

    My cx5 2.2d fw. has very strange variations in consuption. I was told in service that is because it cleans itself dpf filter. But If that is correct ,that would mean that my dpf is cleaning every 100km?

    • @jacksonbeje
      @jacksonbeje 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Normally, the DPF cleaning itself(if you drive long distances), if you drive short distances, you may buy some diesel additives to help triggering the DPF cleaning. Or you can do it manually, the car engine must be at working temperature.
      manually it takes from 10-40 min....(avoid using this method since it harms the DPF filter(if doing often)
      if the car is in DPF cleaning procedure, the RPM is going to be stabler, but higher than idling, plus the engine will be working hard. trying to burn that carbon...

    • @R3nchi
      @R3nchi 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jacksonbeje How do I know its dpf filter and not erg ?? And yes my rpms are the same when consumption goes up...

    • @noel6332
      @noel6332 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@R3nchi That's definitely DPF regen. You know it occurs when the engine icon is unlit and i-stop won't work even if it's switched on your instrument cluster. Also, fuel consumption will increase since it's injecting more diesel on the exhaust stroke to burn the particulates on the DPF.
      Mine occurs every 180-200km and lasts 15 minutes.

    • @R3nchi
      @R3nchi 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@noel6332 mine occurs too often.. but they say my dpf is clean? like atf?

    • @noel6332
      @noel6332 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@R3nchi try to reset your tripmeter once it completed a regen, then log once it occurs again. It should do it once every 200km. If it's often like every 50km, you should probably have it cleaned. Or better yet, just remove it if its not illegal in your country.

      its egr thaqt causes the issue, not the dpf.

    On my alfa 147, the egr valve costs 200 euros and I can do myself the remplacement in only 1 minute. So: either Mazda doesn't know how to build diesel engines, or they want to cheat us out of 4 hours of labor and 600 euros ( that's the price asked by my dealer!), or both!

      Mazda's SKYACTIV engines are one of the least polluting (-30% NOx emissions and meeting most emissions guidelines) and most fuel efficient (-20% fuel consumption) engines on the market, so they know how to make them, but high efficiency and clean emissions come with certain drawbacks, like relatively complicated servicing.
