    Nice vid - thx. And nicely set up TJ.
    I recently sold my 48 so I could buy an 06' Rubicon - with the 4.0/6speed, 4" lift & 35s, long arms, outboarded rear shocks and an 8274 winch. Previous owner modified the locker switch to work in both low and high range. Have only had it at the sand dunes but am eager to hit the rocks in a few weeks.
    Good luck.

    Saw you on Nate's most recent video and loved the way your TJ performs. Wanted some inspiration for my 02 😀

      Thanks, although the Jeep is a much different animal now, lol. I will have to do a new walk around with the upgrades.

    Really enjoyed this video. At last someone makes a video where you can actually SEE the undercarriage they’re walking you through!! I just picked up my first Jeep, a solid ‘97 TJ and it’s very helpful to see what other more experienced Jeep guys have done as I plan my mods. Subscribed 🙂

    Great video and a really nice build! You definitely put in the wrench time on this! My TJ is mild compared to yours. 4" lift on 35's...

      @MuddyBeards4X4  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you, nothing wrong with a Tj with 4” lift and 35’s. You can do most things with that and still be comfortable driving down the road.

    • @gorillahd9247
      @gorillahd9247 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MuddyBeards4X4 That was the plan - a comfortable exploration vehicle that can get me into and out of wherever I want to go. I am still adding more armor (skids) even though I don't plan on rock crawling. Might protect my undercarriage when I slide over a stump in the field. Keep producing great vids!

    • @MuddyBeards4X4

      thirzty1 Thanks, the soft locker is great. Even on the street. As long as your not full throttle around a corner. Best upgrade for the 8.8 for sure, along with the super 88 kit.

    I have an 06 wrangler and I’m looking to do some off roading I have all stock components aside from my 2 inch lift with 33x12.5what should I upgrade next? Should I get lockers, regear from 3:73s or upgrade the Dana 30 and 35? Your input would be extremely helpful
    Thanks

    • @MuddyBeards4X4
      @MuddyBeards4X4  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on what your final tire size will be and what kind of off roading you want to do. I did a video talking about some of this in a video a few weeks ago,”fitting 40’s on a Tj”. If you are staying on 33’s and doing mild off-roading, your 30,35 axles will be fine. Also depends on your budget, but probably 4.10 gears, and I would start with a front locker, selectable or lunchbox(Aussie)depending on budget. Because just in case you get addicted and want to do harder trails you haven’t wasted money besides gears on the Dana 35. Because that will be the first thing to go if you get into some hairy situations👍🏻

    I have a tight budget. Would a wagoneer front 44 be a good swap?

    • @MuddyBeards4X4
      @MuddyBeards4X4  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on what you are doing and which wagoneer. it needs to be from a 1980-1981 or 1985-1992 Wagoneer. 1979 and earlier had the differential on the passenger side. 1982-1984 had a problematic vacuum disconnect that was built into the differential for the two piece long side shaft and should be avoided. So I guess it depends, lol. If you can find the right one for the right price, than maybe.

      @@MuddyBeards4X4 I just bought a 2006 tj and it has a Dana 30 Lp and a Dana 44 rear. I want to run 37-38’s maybe 40’s one day. I’m reading the stock 44 rear isn’t strong enough so maybe a Ford 9”. I can get a wagoneer front driver side drop axle for $200 with 4.10 gears. I would want to change the lug pattern from 6 to 5x5.5 maybe a spool and unlock it when on the street? I can’t find any other 44 for under 3k around me and your axle type is hard to find in Louisiana by me.
