I daily drove my 2001 TJ for a little over 5 years. I bought it with 80,000 miles, and it now has 143,500. It's a 4.0 liter, 5 speed manual. Super great visibility, easy to park and maneuver around. Most reliable vehicle I've ever owned. It's never left me stranded anywhere. It's truly a shame that Chrysler killed off the 4.0 inline six...

I daily a 2005 4 cyl manual and I agree with everything you said in this video. With the soft top, it can definitely get loud, which can make conversations hard. Driving solo, there isn't a big issue with that though. On the highway, I can generally keep up with traffic going 65-75 but there won't be any passing going on. It can definitely get you from point A to point B. The interior is very basic. I think the seats are definitely not bad or uncomfortable but they're not the best either (but that may have to do with me being 6'2"). With that said, I absolutely love it and wouldn't trade it for anything. Well, maybe an LJ or a rubi...
Your vids have helped me out a lot, man. I appreciate the content and look forward to more in the future. Much love from Florida, stay warm, hahaha.

Long Commutes: get a quiet muffler as that helps...noisy 4.0L sixes are typically for Millennials only, especially of the G.I. variety or even the Zoomer gen. Also, get a SYE and a double cardan driveshaft = less vibes. Also, good AT tires like BFG KO2's, and not mudders, make for a good daily driver and can still go off pavement w/o issues. Been daily driving a '03 Jeep TJ 4.0L 5-speed in Alaska (plus 1 rd. trip Alcan trip to Lower48) since new!

I drive my '02 TJ on the freeway at 70+mph and it's not bad now that I put small airbags in the rear coil springs and keep 10 lbs in them. Before that I did not like driving much over 60-65 but driving 70-75 the MPG drops from 19 to 17 and even an occasional 80mph is not scary as it use to be. BUT . . . mine is stock suspension. I came here looking for daily driver lift kit advice.

Have had 5 TJ's since I was 16 (43 now).... The one downside that gets under my skin every year is when winter hits. The short wheel base, how light the TJ's are.... On ice or slick conditions (Slush), the TJ will spin like crazy. Packed Snow and Snow, throw it in 4 High and it'll get you where you need to go. Threw some 31" studded tires and use those during the winter. BUT on hills, slopes with slick conditions... It's the #1 thing I hate about all the TJ's I've owned. Everything else I've loved and is why I've only owned TJ's since I was 16.

I have been driving mine for off road, trails, rural roads, suburban driving, and urban driving since 1996. I never thought I would have her this long. But as the new vehicles keep coming out, my aging TJ looks better and better every year. I would actually be taking a huge step backwards if I were to get something modern.

I got mine in 1996 as a 1997. It is by far the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned. What it lacks in fuel economy, it more than makes up for it in supernatural reliability. It is more economical than a new fuel economy vehicle with a payment. I do not see how purchasing a vehicle that makes 39 to 42 miles to the gallon is economical if you have to pay a very expensive payment. My fuel usage is far under a payment.

I live in New York City and daily drive a 05 TJ Rubi, hands down the best city vehicle. Parking is so easy with the short wheelbase and tight turning radius (no driveway, I street park). With steel bumpers you don’t need to worry about someone bumping your car and damaging it lol. Don’t need to worry about horrible road conditions & potholes. Sitting in traffic I’m comfortable even with a manual - so easy to drive. I think a lot of people in the city have realized this, I see TJs EVERYWHERE. Just make sure you have a hardtop lol

With all the mods it looks great and is a blast to drive. Gas mileage at about 15 mpg but worth every penny. Not missing the Prius at all.

I daily an '04 WJ with a 4.0 in line 6 automatic and I absolutely love it, it does what I need. She has a 2in lift and 255/70 Toyo open country 2 AT tires and it definitely has a race truck feel to it, especially with loud exhaust. I get about 17mpg in town and about 21mpg highway. I will love it forever but I do want to try out TJ or JK style jeep for additional fun.

I before getting my 2003tj sport was looking at a 2008 wrangler v6 same price same Km i felt more comfortable getting the old faitful . mine is great on hwy floats around a tad under 1.9-2 k rpm at 110 kmh pretty damn good feels like its barely workin on other rds lets say 80 km h its around 1.5-1.6k rpm there is a sweet spot at around 70 km hr where it changes gear and establishes a nice low 1.2 rpm . when warm she idles at like 750 rpm lol thats peanuts 😂 love it the torque tho is what i love why she cruises nice at low rpm at relitivly high speeds . on a tank of gas i get 420 km maybe 450km depends on my foot 😂 not bad for a gas tank its size . Northern Ontario Canada Ehhh godbless . love the vid brother like as always
