As a guide in Zurich I was lucky to work with Nello ❤ He is an absolute star, truly wonderful gentleman and knows so much about the city! Amazing to see him on big screen 😊 Thanks for the video guys, some of the places mentioned are definitely best in town! I'm sure you've inspired not only guests but locals to visit them as well x
This was perhaps the most enjoyable film to make. We really loved our time in Zurich, the weather, the people, the food, the beauty it was such an awesome pace for the few days. I think that really shows in the final film. Thank you 🙏
the culinary diversity in zurich now and just a few years ago has grown so much. i’m glad to see you found and enjoyed some of the best spots here! hope you’ve enjoyed your stay 🙏🏼
Living in Switzerland it’s an amazing country but I wouldn’t say that Zurich is a city of foodie icon. Go to Prague, lived there and it’s mind blowing how amazing food scene is there. 😊
A triumph! Love the pace on this one guys, you captured each location perfectly. A true homage to Zurich! Probably top 5 TOPJAW videos of all time. Congrats!
So happy that I‘ve stumbled onto you channel. You guys are legends, had to subscribe. As someone that was born and raised in Zurich I’ve been missing out on most of these places. Thank you for visiting our gorgeous city. Hope you enjoyed it.
Live in Zurich, I was NOt expecting this. Wouldve loved to show you around. I live right next to gasthaus zum guten glück! Strange to see it on youtube
I live here, we eat out a lot, and the only place I've visited from this list is the Old Crow! Can't wait to try the others out! Awesome video guys - sub'd.
Every video keeps getting better. Many of the restaurants I see on #TopJaw are interesting and then there is Old Inn and I think, "DAMN, I nave to go there!" Thanks for bringing us the best of the world. Appreciate all of the work from cinematography and editing team -- you people are the best on TH-cam. ❤
I live in Zurich! There are definitely some amazing restaurants, bars and coffee shops in Zurich. You just need to know them. I could give you another list 😉
I'm so glad I found this channel, you guys have to go to Cologne, personally would love to see it but also I understand that a single comment can't sway content lol
Such nice recommendations, really cool video. Despite having lived here for years, I only knew about some of these places, can’t wait to try out all the others!
Zurich is pretty good for coffee - expensive, but good. MAME and Bean Bank are two other places that consistently have very nice and interesting coffees. Bean Bank has coffees from various roasters around Europe on rotation, which is nice when you want to taste new stuff every once in a while.
Action burger hasnt been around for a short time. They have had popups for about 4 years now. Love their burgers since day 1 when we had to wait an hour in line!
As someone from Zurich, calling this city a foodie icon is really a bit of a stretch. Who cares about yet another burger? The thai curry? Only masquerading as "street food", in reality its overpriced, cooked in an industrial kitchen, and tastes nothing like an actual thai dish. Yes, some places are nice, and there's for sure good fine dining. But the diversity of authentic cuisines is severely lacking and value for money is generally pretty bad.
Switzerland is a very expensive place, the currency is strong. But the places we featured in this film all offer good value for money in comparison to many other places in Zurich.
I remember going out looking for a cheap meal there last summer and finding a pizza joint. Cost me 40 euros for a pie and a glass of wine. Ouch. (But then the price of everything - even groceries - were painful. If I was swiss I think I'd rent my studio apartment out and travel the world in relative luxury)
Why is Switzerland so expensive? TLDR: it is mostly the result of higher productivity resulting in higher wages. Long version: We have one of the highest productivity per person in the world, so wages tend to be higher especially in capital intensive (vs labour intensive) industries with scalable outputs, e.g. pharmaceuticals, industrial machinery and to some extent in financial services (plus other factors at play here). Higher salaries in these industries creates more demand for services in lower productivity (labour intensive) sectors, such as food and beverages, hair dressers, cleaning (everything that cannot be done by a machine). Plus, for people to even consider working in these sectors they need to be able to make a living in a country with high cost of living (in absolute terms). Lastly, I like to think that in Switzerland there is a consensus that all people living here have the right to a decent life, though I can’t provide actual evidence for this.
Exactly agreed! Zurich is far from being a foodie icon comparing to other central European cities like Paris. The level of diversity, authenticity, the quality still need a big catch up. Not just because of the country is expensive to start any business but one factor is culturally they are conservative. Especially in the Swiss German part, they prefer to live in their own bubbles.
Love you've ventured further out. Switzerland is so beautiful and so expensive. Can you please go to Munich? Stunning city, close to the Alps with amazing food, history and culture 🙏
Well done with the recent Princess of Wales video Will. Let's hope you get to do the Christmas message this year and put a new refreshing spin on it. So proud that a youtuber (topjaw-related) is doing this.
Great video. As someone from Zurich, I didn't know half of these places, so will be checking them out. Especially the bakery, as I also think there are no good pastry places around.
Ok! You got me at the very 1st minute! You found the right people here. Indeed the BEST bakery for their limited selection of croissant and pastries. Didn't find any other in Zurich, and possibly in German part of Switzerland, that know how to make them the French way.
Zurich is the kind of place where you feel safe, like no one is going to throw you under the bus if you make a mistake. I loved it. Jesse, whatever medication you were using… keep using it! Very sexy and relaxed.
We’re listening to the comments and the team is putting in so much more effort. We go over every second of the film multiple times to ensure the content is as good as possible.
More spots to eat in the city .... * Sham: Awesome Syrian food * Mesob: best of the Ethiopian spots. Get the zilzil tibs and kitfo. * Gertrudhof: 30+ cordon bleus * Derby: 3 pizzas should be enough to tell you they are solid * Famiglia Tremonte: great piadinas and foccacia sandwiches * Palestine Grill: bomb falafel and schwarma * Sternen Grill: classic sausages spot. Grab one and walk along the lake.
OLD CROW! absolutely love that place. Been a regular for a good couple years now. Also, you missed a spot. Williams butcherstable am hegibachplatz. Best beef in zürich/switzerland hands down
Zurich - (what you call) a foodie icon of Europe. I can't really agree. Sure, there are plenty of good places, but it's nothing worth travelling to a place for. Especially not in a city/country THAT expensive. Apart from everything being overpriced up to lots of places having "cutthroat prices", there isn't really anything you can't get in other cities, that are way cheaper.
As always chaps I really enjoyed it but the edit isn’t as tight as the last one, pacing is a little off in a few places, please remember, tough love is love x
I was laughing and smiling the whole video, really refreshing to watch people who are actually enjoying what they do. :)

Great job guys, I hope you get to see some other Swiss towns and cities as well! 🥰
We growing up and living in Zurich sometimes forget how good we have it here. Thanks for the reminder, that was nice to watch.
I was litterally thinking the same when i watched this. I live here for over 20y and still explore new stuff thanks to vlogs like this.
Wtf. More like how bad you have it. There's more good food in Freiburg, Germany than in all of Switzerland

Haha love this!

besides all worldwide hipsters spawn there, its a nice city!
Seems like such a return to form for the Topjaw boys. I love it. I haven’t enjoyed an episode like this in a while.

I watched a 3rd of the video in an ad and ended up subscribing. This video somehow reminds me of UK daytime TV, but in a good way.
love my town and top jaw collab'd . hit a lot of the key spots with the right young chefs shaping the scene.
