"Lets have an epic ending where the ships are firing constantly" Ships blow themselves up. "Ok well well have the finale be cutting out the whole map.." Map doesn't fall.
If I had to make an educated guess about the end, I'm pretty sure scrap mechanic only calculates out 256 blocks, and if this stadium is bigger than that, then basically one side is holding the other side up and vice versa.
It's definitally more than 256 blocks. Maybe something like 256,000 blocks would be closer because looking at how small one block is in scrap mechanic, 256 blocks would be a really tiny structure.
Educated guess? Dude, 256 blocks is just 16x16 square. 25% of what you can lay down at once when building. That is TINY. So tiny that it's extremely rare to see that small pieces falling in spleef.
I also noticed that in challenge mode, creations too big don't fall even if completely disconnected. I had a challenge idea that I couldn't finish because it involved giant falling rooms, and sometimes those rooms did not fall.
now i want to test the limits of floating blocks build a giant platform with only one connection point and see if it will fall and then add connections until it doesnt.
So the check of if it should fall has a size limit you exceeded for performance purposes it seems, which makes sense.... This means you can make floating maps though, which is awesome.
I've been wondering this for a while. There's an block connectivity path length that it checks and you finally exceeded it. You could probably do the same things with a spiral on a much smaller map.
Juggernaut Spleef would be cool. One person has a car with a more spuds for a bigger trail, sharper turning radius and faster speed. Whoever defeats the juggernaut becomes the juggernaut.
Ok, those ships gave me an idea, how about a ww1 armored assault survival challenge? Basically, each one builds a tank or armored car and has to reach a point in a custom map full of trenches and hard terrain while under constant artillery fire from like 8 or 12 of those cannons.
Perhaps if you had them contained in a tower with a rotating slit that limits their FOV (maybe even a door that only opens every so often), they might be usable, but yea- pure chaos if unrestrained.
In order to stop people cutting out the map, maybe colour within 10 - 15 blocks of the edge and if you go near the edge there is a sensor on your vehicle in order to slow your vehicle down? So you can go to the edge but it will take forever to actually go all the way around.
Additionally as a spleef idea, it would be cool if the floor was different colours and depending on what colour you are on the vehicle speed is different.
Eeeey, I suggested this about a month ago! I think the bouncing comes from the giant sheets being one connected mass of the same block, causing the game to calculate it bizarrely, similar to how buoyancy gets weird without using different blocks.
How about a high speed version where the ships deliberately target the vehicles? Perhaps who it targets could be random, but the vehicles should be fast enough to dodge the shots. (This is provided the mod still works...)
I was going to reply mentioning explosive tapebots, but now I just feel the need to make you feel stupid for including your final statement. They aren’t using mods, they’re in challenge mode for convenience. They won’t go to creative just to use a mod
So this was a very very funny video. I love the concept. i still don't understand how the land was floating but yeah. And I have a question that has nothing to do with this video I was wondering if moonbo is gonna be joining you anytime soon For a multiplayer Monday. I just miss seeing him in the videos once in a while.
hey kan you should do an experimentation of seeing how large a spleef areana can be whilst still allowing you to cut it out totally like the end of this video when it didnt fall
I've seen objects freeze before but this floating platform is such an odd situation xD also i think your sand bouncyness is because it's one GIANT SLAB of sand. and the computer is probably unhappy with it.
What about going back to your roots and haveing a build your own spleef car , it would be interesting to see how everyone builds fast and nimble to avoid of slow and steady for super solid or wide lines what's the meta?
You could have the cars attached to the arena via a cardboard block. Then once every car's switch is on, the challenge starts. Breaking the cardboard block.
I'd thought the same but I'd be worried that could cause lag. I think when two objects that were one object touch, it's tougher on the game engine than when two unrelated objects touch. I could be wrong on that though.
I think you should introduce Kosmo to the shopping mall hide and seek map. The map maker left you some tips in the comments section of the second video you did
At the end, should've tested what'd happen if you cut half-way through the arena. And then if they'd still float, if you did it again (so you'd have cut a cross through the arena).
the big platform might be floating because a part of it could cut out by a bomb that landed too far from a player so the physics engine ignored it thought the platform was still held up by blocks that dont exist
Could you make a spleef map to take advantage of too big to fall, the entire map cut out from supports at the start, where cuts will drop the smaller side, or everything for a wipe if trimmed enough.
@@IS0ME_GUYI Spleefmit /ˈspliːfmɪt/ noun 1. a point or level beyond which Scrap Mechanic does not or may not simulate physics for an object during a game of Spleef due to it's size surpassing the game's calculation ability and triggering the safeguard mechanics that prevent the game from crashing. 2. not a REAL WORD
The game has a limit for how much it checks for whether a set of blocks is freefloating or not. If the game wouldn't have that, it'd have to check the entire world potentially to be sure whether it's connected, which is extremely computationally expensive. So, as long as there is 1 block outside the range limit, the search will find that there is a connection and just assume it's all connected to something.

What if someone is on the map and the other players try to knock them off. Longest time wins. Or could do when people are out they get a turret to shoot on the board.

@@JalokimYT LOL 256k blocks? Ya, i am sure it is set up to calculate physics for objects that rival the size of the whole campaign map.
5:55 I love how kAN just looks at Kosmo, turns away for a second, then turns back to only see his corpse lmao
Poor Kosmo, that was too funny 😁
what a cliffhanger, dude just continue until that thing falls
True
I don’t think it can fall. They maxed out the physics engine.

Watching Kosmo just run to his car in silence was way funnier than it should be
Juggernaut Spleef would be cool. One person has a car with a more spuds for a bigger trail, sharper turning radius and faster speed. Whoever defeats the juggernaut becomes the juggernaut.
The juggernaut should also have a larger vehicle capable of pushing the other two
@@Checkered-Vaporwave great idea
it ain't a top tier kan video without existentialism
You guy should each build an area for hide and seek then connect them, so each of you guys will know the hiding spots in your own areas. Day 3
I was going to pin him but I don't know how to pin people so I really hope they do this idea

this comment deserves more love in fact I am going to comment this after every video
Explosive tape bot spleef would be a nightmare
Perhaps if you had them contained in a tower with a rotating slit that limits their FOV (maybe even a door that only opens every so often), they might be usable, but yea- pure chaos if unrestrained.
I think they've done it already?
Does that mean this is Aaaarrr-N-G?
Hah I get it .
Idea, next time instead of a stationary ship, have it be like a train on a track going around the arena launching shells
Just han idea for the cars.. Make wobbly wheels, so its harder to go straight
Solo?
I hate to say it, but best spleef yet. Well done, Kan
"is this piece piece too big to fall, like capitalism?"💀
I really like how the ships gets sunk themselfs :D
4 seconds in and I love this map already.

This is my favorite spleef so far.
Now I wanna see spleef with airstrikes!
You can have 2 planes on each side that go if at a random time and drop 5-10 bombs in a line
You guys should do mortar spleef where all the cars have controllable mortar stacks
Yo sweet idea.... Also kan is a dingus!
What a great ending. Hahaha
such a cool idea!

Should make a battle ship game next time, like hide and seek one shooter and two hiding in some of the ships, but shoots blindly like in the game.
spleef idea, have 'plants vs zombies' style mowers around the edge that the player can shoot to active.

Hopefully the devs see this video and have an explanation of the ending for us... but the 256-block limit seems most likely.
idk if u guys done this yet but you could attach the spud guns to a rotating wheel under the vehicle so its like a squiggly line when you go straight
Should do one where it randomly targets a car
arrgh such an unsatisfying ending haha

kan and hyce should play factorio space age DLC
I'd love to watch Kosmo's IF he posts it...
YEEEESSSSS
add another game mode for you guys to do where you just recreate board games i want to see battleships
Cosmo sounds down, I hope he's doing okay.
I wonder if you could have explosive tape bots randomly spawn in at different spots. 🤔
what about a seesaw spleef or sorts? basically it will tip to the side its heaviest on but wont tip to much so you don't fall off.
Could you make a spleef map to take advantage of too big to fall, the entire map cut out from supports at the start, where cuts will drop the smaller side, or everything for a wipe if trimmed enough.
Creations that have more than 65535 blocks will be freezed (Just a slab composed 16x16 grid of 16*16)
Someone should do spleef hide and seek lol where u can spleef an entire building
