Such heart break watching Dap restart on track time that was going to be 40 seconds better.

All 'cause he thought he'd been slower due to the timstamps that have nothing to do with what path you take.

You weren't... you were much faster. You were simply looking at Kosmos time which was faster than the time you would have gotten...
also he went through 3 paths on the first completed run
I think the checkpoint split confused him. He was slower at the last checkpoint. He just forgot he didn't go straight to the finish last time so had a really long split between checkpoint and finish.
I groaned so hard when he reset.

@@xyex Ugh same!! I was like, "Didn't you re-enter the same checkpoints many more times on your first run?! That's why it was slower, not the lead-up to them!"
It’s interesting that before you showed this prison to anyone, as the title says, you were literally the only person in the entire world to know how to escape
Dapper, you can't rely on brute force to solve escape rooms. it goes against the spirit. You needed another clue somewhere that would indicate which of the 4 paths was correct.
Agreed, that irked me a bit. What he could have done was named the track "Sweet Escape". The "Sweet" hinting to 16 for "Sweet 16" and then after that they know that the next number has to be 5 to make it 21.
Otherwise still a very fun and unique track.
@@acherem13 I am not so sure about that hint.. it's not global.. it would lead unsubcribtions as it's seems to be dum american saying.. had to google what " sweet sixteen" mean.. it's only used on usa and canada...

@@Mike_Dubayou you misunderstood... "sweet sixteen" as hint would only work on small part of world... it's not about map, but possible hint he could have given.. and also "sarcasm"
Not sure why it was never explained in the vid, but the second room's clue was 21. door 2, then door 1.
On the second-to-last run you weren't slower but when you use any path it saves the time. You went through the checkpoints multiple times.
I like how Dapper lets people figure it out, instead of leading the way for everyone to follow.

Wait, this is kind of a cool concept. The colour coding tiles remindes me of indoor rock climbing. Doing the red colour-coded path as you climb
The concept was cool, but the players not in discord did not get the same info we are hearing in the video. We just see _+_=21, then have to figure out what to do when we make 21. We dont know the doors were supposed to open. We dont know there is only 1 correct equation.

A good escape room is solvable without forcing a combination lock
Obviously people gather clues and figure it out and probably do try multiple options to rule them out
but it should be solvable, not "just check every combination till it works"

The quicker times was from taking the wrong path and you were just cruising around when you got the time. you were like a minute faster!

Maybe add a hint in the first room to know which two paths to take, instead of it just being "guess which pair to choose"

This was one of the coolest tracks any of yall have ever done. I would love to see you mix the concept up run it again and add some time
The last section reminds me of grade school math. Multiple ways of solving a problem but if you don't "SHOW YOUR WORK" and it's the same method the teacher wanted to use you fail. I hate math.
So based on this, do you really hate the math or do you just hate how it was taught to you?

Well, technically it would either be 4 times or 4^4 which would be 16 times.
I like it. Interesting starting point for a Zeepkist escape room. I wonder if anyone will try to kick it up a notch.
Dapper should never work at an escape room

C) 17 + 4
D) 16 + 5

This is kind of a textbook study on why playtesting is important. Obvious to the creator is rarely obvious to the player in a puzzle game.
The logic was you just need to try the 4 different paths. The math made it go from 16 to 4 paths.
As Dapper said himself, this was not to give the solution to the path, but narrow down the 8x7x6x5x...x1=40.000 possible combinations down to your 4 solutions. Because you as the player don't know if you should take them all or just 5. With his math he gave you the hint that it should only be two paths and that those are linked by logic. Then it's just trial and error.
It would've been funny if you had to do 6, 6, 4, 5

Went from "what a cool track to ick math" so quick
Doors didn't open right away, so you retook the paths. That is why the checkpoints said you were slow. There was no need to reset as you were going through the doors as you were already a minute ahead of the time you set.

It wasn't slower. The 1st time you made it: you went through the checkpoints again because the door still wasn't open. Your 1st time was 2: 29
Your second time would have been 1: 40 something.
I was saying, "aw oh no Dappper. Just finish. You're so close to the end already."

Immediately my guess would be there is a booster somewhere and you need to hit it in the right direction. My first guess would have been directly in font of the start but you have to be driving toward the start

i like the idea of this track, but 10-12 mins isnt enough. this would be better at 15-20 since theres a multi-choice section to figure out at the last half, but i understand you dont want to set 1 map to nearly double the standard amount of time

To solve the hunger crisis in Africa it depends. There are several ways to do so. The most efficient way is through helping African countries respect property rights and weed out corruption. Those two factors will do 99% of the work. The other way is to create an international railway to distribute food. Logistics is a massive problem. But the train would need to be plural and refer cars. There is already enough food grown in America to feed the world and then some. That isn't counting on government enforced losses.

Why was the math room brute forcing which one was correct. You had 3 correct answers that were wrong for no reason. Absolutely terrible design.
Particularly since it's supposed to be an escape room. Brute Force can _never_ be the correct answer in an escape room
