I would like to use it in a livestream. However I found Accsoon products are far better in case of low latency (I compare to oldest Mars products). Wonder if this one will be good enough to sync during live event.
I recently got a Teradek Bolt 4K. Though it is a very nice system, Holyland definitely gives runs for its money. Seems very nice. Teradek claims their system has 0 latency, and it was important to me at the wedding when speeches / Dances and when bride walks in to show exactly what’s going on/lip synching and dances with music were synchronized
@@fabmartel Look it up. Teradek Bolt or Teradek Spark. Its not new news, They’ve used this technology in multi million dollar professional films sets to pull precise focus. Bolt is a standard in that industry.
Good question! If i don't need 4k at all, then it is a much harder choice. Mars 4k should still has slighty smaller latency, and longer range, but 400S Pro is probably good enough in these areas for most user.
Have you done a test to see how the latency compares with the other Hollyland systems? I've got the older 400S (non pro) and I'm wondering if it'd be worth the upgrade for latency. The image doesn't look that much better honestly, but if it is at least faster then I'd consider it!
hi Shane, no sorry i haven't done testing comparing the older hollyland products. I think 400s probably has slightly slower latency, but the difference would be quite minor.
Hollyland claim a max. bandwidth of 20MBit/s (standard setting is 12MBit/s) - maybe switching to 20MBit/s could bring a big difference with the compression. Or is the 20MBit/s mode only for HD? Which would be a missed opportunity.
From their website: "The Mars 4K achieves an incredible LOS range of 450ft (150m) and ultra-low latency of 0.06s. Its upgraded dual-core codec chip is capable of a data rate ranging from 8 Mbps to 20 Mbps, with 12 Mbps as the default."
@@costa_konstantinou_dp hey Konstantin, the info i received before launch only said 12Mbps. there were no info about 8-20Mbps. I did see the info you list after luanch but so far I haven't find a way to change that setting manually. So not sure to be honest. but as you can see the HD mode result in my video it is still not exactly as sharp/nice as I hope.
Does the battery get places on top of the fan slot? The 400S had the same issue, using it continuously for 3+ hours, damaged the TX unit here. The one that was running vis DC didn't have the prob.
We just bought this. At the moment we are having trouble to sync the audio with the visual. We have to take the audio input from the final mixing if the audio mixer and from there, the problem occurs. Any suggestions to fix this or workaround to fix this? It's hard to get any solution around since this unit is still new.
how large monitor do you want? if it's a small 6" or so one, you could checkout the Hollyland M1 monitor, it has a built-in Hollyland receiver/transmitter as well th-cam.com/video/2nCOw8zX_DE/w-d-xo.html
Check out Teradek. It transmits up to 4K HDR 10 BIT, at zero latency. The big thing, is that it operates in the 6 Ghz bands, you will get no interference.
@@fabmartel There are plenty of Teradek and Hollyland latency comparisons online. Teradek is used on professional cinema set to pull focus. They need precision. Your right zero delay is impossible, the delay of a Teradek is 0.001 seconds, which is visually lossless. The human eye cant perceive the Teradek’s latency.

Who uses wireless video transmitter? Will you upgrade to 4k video transmitter like this Hollyland Mars 4K?
4k is definitely what I want
Yeah, definitely

Very nice review as usual Richard! Thanks. 4k transmitter make sense!
Thanks for watching Andrew!

yes the Teradek one seems amazing!
I do wonder what is the actual latency as it's impossible to have real zero latency.
fake, zero latency is impossible. check , do test correctly, record and publish on youtube your result ;-)

Quite difficult to choose between this one than the C1. 😢
Great review. Thanks for your real-world tests!
My pleasure!
Great review. I have the 400S Pro units and will upgrade once Blackmagic releases a 4K ATEM video switcher
Thanks for watching Monte Weaver! Hurry up Blackmagic! :D
Blackmagic already has a 4k switcher got several years now
Good fair honest review as usual. Thanks 👍
Thanks for watching Kris!
Perfect thanks, basically stick with the Mars 400s pro! the image quality isn't really noticeable
If you don’t need/require the 4K would you recommend just getting the 400spro?

can I transmit from sdi and receive to hdmi?
I am 90% sure you can but don't have a SDI device to confirm for you
Yes I have done this myself

there are multiple fan/ventilation slots on the unit, but one of them is indeed behind the battery.
Is this Hollyland 4k transmitter good for focus pulling work?
there is still a bit of delay, but probably the best you can get at this price point in terms of latency and resolution for focus pulling work

hello there, to be honest i didn't test the audio with the Mars 4K. I only used/tested it as a pure video transmitter to display on another monitor
thanks for the review. Looking for my first video tx/rx. Is it possible to provide the receiving feed to facebook live / youtube live?
If through receiver you need a HDMI video capture card. Or I believe the iOS app may allow you to stream
@Richard Wong thanks. I saw another video where hollyland was used with BM Atem pro to stream on the internet.
Yes if you use some HDMI switch with USB video output that would work
for me the more important is the latency, and in mode HD Quality ...100 ms is to high. Next.
sad we didnt get 4k latency testing seeing how this is a 4k system.
Thanks for the feedback.
great video, Im looking for a client monitor to pair nicely with the holly land. Does anyone have any recommendations?

@@TheRealRichardWong I’m looking for something around 13 inch
Oh right thats quite a bit bigger than the m1 sorry I don't have any suggestions for you
I like your setup. Just started a channel. Getting subs first. Wish me luck. I like wired better for the price but price will come down eventually.
Good luck! Wired is cheapest. But a lot of time wireless is just a lot more easier if budget allows.
What happens when you input DCI 4K? Does it convert it into UHD 4K?

you have always the delay, it is normal, but not say ZERO LATENCY ...plzz. i know what model are the low latency.
