I had the same issue on my c70 dropping out constantly. It must be the compatibility with that particular camera. Because it doesn’t drop out on my other cameras which is weird
An HDMI connection is known to introduce latency. Your latency examples with the M1 I think were all with an HDMI connection. Have you tested it with a direct SDI connection to your Komodo? Would be interesting to get an apples to apples comparison against the SmallHD, which showed no latency when connected via SDI to the Komodo.
Hmm, the m1 monitor doesn’t have SDI but the TX does I ran the Komodo x with the TX through SDI - you can see those latency examples in this video too I ran the small hd 702 touch with the hollyland but as an on camera monitor- still kicking out to the m1 monitor for the director / client Every setup I tried had some slow latency, it’s alright but I wouldn’t focus pull from it
I've been using my Accssoon CineView HE with my Komodo X in the same way (for client/director). It doesn't have SDI but I've been using the HDMI out port of my SmallHD Indie 7.
Thoughts on the Pyro S that was just released? For a new release and $50 more, it seems like the right move. Longer range, 5G only, dual HDMI + SDI in/outs. Only HUGE bummer with the Pyro is the antenna. It doesn't look like the bullet-style antenna used on the Mars system is compatible with the Pyro.. I'm leaning towards the new Pyro but am worried about the bulkiness that would come with the paddle antenna. Curious to hear what you think
it seems nice! lots of range is ideal ohhh that's interesting, wonder if you'd be able to swap out those antennas I've been really happy with the hollyland for the majority of stuff I do. I'm still kinda kicking around the idea of moving into the dji transmission but we'll see.
If i film with a panasonic gh5 in 4k 60fps can i still use this transmitter even though it only goes up to 4k 30fps? and is pulling focus with this possible but a little difficult?
I sent mine back when it first dropped. I wanted to love it. It's well made. My image kept dropping on my C70? It was odd. Back to Atomos. It works.

@@spinningrodfisherman No sure. Thomas and another creator liked it on the C70. Not for me.

@@thomas.kovacik Ah, I was looking at the M1 Enhanced, which has an SDI input. Didn't realize the original M1 didn't have SDI. Thanks!
@ImageGeneration oh shoot good to know that! Yeah I guess you could go SDI to the m1 enhanced on camera and use it as a monitor / TX!
Thanks for your honesty.
Always!

Rad! Solid setup right there
Yeah with the dsmc3 monitor I’m locked into SDI on the body haha
@@thomas.kovacik oh true, forgot about that. I want the dsmc3 monitor so bad tho haha
Has anyone notice what I would describe as a slight electronic burning smell come from the TX?
Oh no haha, that’s… prob not good
Hopefully just dust burning off a bit from the internals heating up?

Vaxis makes a great kit too!
I’ve heard great things too!
It has been great as well
Hey Thomas, did you end up getting the regular cinesaddle or the mini?
Hey! I got the regular size
what is the bitrate for the 4k signal
not sure, hollyland may have those specs on the site!
If i film with a panasonic gh5 in 4k 60fps can i still use this transmitter even though it only goes up to 4k 30fps? and is pulling focus with this possible but a little difficult?
Yes the output should work fine! Pulling focus will be off, I wouldn’t trust it for heavy action
Your focus puller may have to guess a little haha
hollyland released a new monitor the m1 enhanced
Yep!
Does the enhanced have the same latency issue?
@johnnyweissmuller5838 I believe it should
not happy as on camera monitor - peaking is a joke, huge lag no matter SDI or HDMI. I only use it as a Director monitor.
Yup same here
Is this the “enhanced” monitor or the older version monitor? Any ideas what would be better?
I wish some brand can make a dual v mount plate for these like the dji transmittion.
Right? That tilta vmount plate looks sooo ideal to keep things minimal
Definitely a bonus for moving to the dji system
@@thomas.kovacik apparently one of the atom models have one as well.
