- So many of the key elements of the golf swing are still so mis understood, and that is certainly the case for the delivery position.
If you are looking for more consistency, distance and control then this could well be the key move to unlock those in your golf game.
The delivery position in the downswing is so import as it can set the path, control the strike and allow you to tap into speed you didn't know you had.
In this lesson I show you a 3 step process that will allow you to get the perfect delivery position before we take a look at some pro swing from the likes of Adam Scott and Justin Rose to show you exactly how they do it

Certainly changes my understanding of "swing out to the right." For years I have had a hand path too much inside on the takeaway and too far outside after delivery trying to swing out to the right. As usual, well explained and will let it screw up my swing this afternoon!
Can you go into more detail what it means when "the hands are too close"? Or do you have another video describing that? Thanks!
Great video 🙏
Awesome tku. I had most things going ok. My back swing was great but my right elbow was too close to my body on the downward move. Heaps better now. Tku Chas
Great drill! I tried it, then went to the course. I was a club and a half longer with irons, 20 yards with driver.
Wow! Huge improvement , glad it helped
Great video Chris ! 😀
Amazing ⛳
Great lesson tips
I cant wait to try this Chris. ive been struggling with ball striking etc and now i see my hands were moving to close to my body on the downswing. thank you for this video.
Thanks Tom hope it helps, can cause a lot of issues if they are too close
The hands away from the body feeling helped me instantly !
Awesome Kevin, love hearing that, glad it helped
Love this 3 exercise! Especially the last 1 hands aligned with the rod! I tend to leave my hands close to my body in the downswing. This is for driver and fairway woods too correct? And thank you so so so much for all the free content! You are great!
Yep exactly the same for thr longer clubs and driver etc, glad it’s helped
Brilliant, well done Chris and thank you 👍
Thanks 🙏🏻
Great video Chris. Thank you.
Thanks Marcus
Great homemade training aid with the sweat band and tee! Thanks Chris!!!
Thanks Tony, it’s cheap too, just always nice to have a visual reference during practice I find
Well done Chris 👏
Thanks Roy
Very good info Chris, thanks!! Should the club head be behind your hands as you come into impact? I seem to remember this from a prior training I've heard. This would be another help to keeping hands away from your body. Thanks.
Yep that would be a great checkpoint, not essential but that reference will give you a pretty neutral path or slightly in to out which for most is ideal
Mega Video, thx you
My pleasure 🙏🏻
At 2:55 the "THRE STAGE" process
I agree - hands over right thigh at delivery position is key, I'm a +1 handicap but my hands are always outside the right thigh at P6. I feel like I'm going to hit it out to the right from the correct delivery position. Perhaps I'm not supinating my lead forearm from delivery position to impact to square up the face?
I have been working on this delivery position since I saw Peter Cowen's videos on it and I find the untalked about part is turning down the right wrist at impact while maintaining the power hinge. It took me a while to get the feel of it but once I started incorporating the delivery position of the right arm, the rotation through the ball, and the turning down of the wirst to square the clubface it all clicked for me.
I’ll have to try this! I have a problem with bringing my hands to much to the inside (trying to get that in to out swing path) and causing me to hit off the toe! I’m aware I’m doing it but I try not o do a swing change on course but it sure gets frustrating at times!
Sounds very much like this will help then, let me know how you get on
Ive tried the concept of the trail elbow, but was obviously too close to my body. This video explains why it didn't work. Great video. Bet the driving range staff love you nicking their balls and tee's.
I have a swing thought of hitting ball on toe of club, which seems to make my hands go around the corner
Perfect, feelings and concepts are much easier to play with, so if that feel creates the right move then ideal
THRE STAGE PROCESS
Better than a fou or a fiv stage process.
🤣it’s similar to a three stage process but my own version

Cant believe you ended the twin view just before showing the most important part of showing how through impact the hands pull inward when you cant see it happening from face on.
Someone needs to learn how to spell three 😂😂
🤣 we do these on purpose just to check who is paying attention 🤣
