    Tip #8 was my PGA lesson last March. The only difference was he had me try to stop my club just after impact. I think the reason was to feel that compression of the strike. It was a great drill as I could feel what a great strike was like. Great teaching as always.

    What a great video Chris- it’s like a compendium of your best bits !
    You answered something that’s been troubling me- I sometimes feel that I’m best using a ball position different from what is taught - it seems to work for me- I feel a lot better about it now- many thanks.

    A trick I learned on keeping 60% of your weight forward is to lift your back heel up a little, like a 1/4 or 1/2 inch through the swing.

    One of your best clips to date. Love the saying Plan for 100 & Focus on 1! I still have your tip go through my mind each time I have a downhill lie.... as you hit the ball, feel like you walk after it! Wales isn't as hilly as Spain, but pretty close 🤣

      @ChrisRyanGolf  ปีที่แล้ว

      Appreciate it 🙏🏻🙏🏻
      Yep that is one of the best thoughts when playing, plan for 100 and focus on 1, not east to do for all 18

    Great lesson! I made the going for the flag mistake today when the flag was on the right side of the green of a par 5. I had a small path past the trees to the right. I pushed my 9 iron too far right into the trees, ultimately costing myself 2 strokes because I missed the green on my next shot as well. I should have aimed at the center of the green.

    • @ChrisRyanGolf

      It’s crazy how hard it is to play smart for 18, sounds east but always shots we look back on and realise we should have played smarter

    Hey Chris, I recently watched “don’t look at the ball” and had heard Jack talk about this, but thought he still looked at the ball but was using a spot in front of the ball for alignment. I took it to the range thinking it would take awhile to adapt, it worked great from shot one. I have a question. In this video you teach 60-60-100. I have seen a previous video of yours that talks about picking your front foot up to practice weight transfer. Can you tie these to seemingly different concepts together for me. Thanks!

    • @ChrisRyanGolf
      @ChrisRyanGolf  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey, Jack is certainly not a bad person to learn from, he did pretty good over his career 😁
      The 60,60,100 drill is a concept, I’m pretty sure in that video instate they it’s not the reality but a feel that can help. So many shift too far off the ball, the 60,60,100 drill can really help that, but almost every time I’ve done this with a students they have shifted to the trail side, which is correct, so their intentions and the reality are different
      So I love that drill for ball striking, but it not accurate in terms of what happens, hope they helps

      @@ChrisRyanGolf It does help, I used to be a ski instructor and found that getting someone to feel it was better than trying to explain it to them, I saved that for after I got them to feel it. PS I got the “Don’t Look at the Ball” video from you and subscribed, so I’m getting a little avalanche of your stuff at the moment.

    Tip#5 - Hey coach! In regards to the don't look at the ball, even with 3 wood, you would look in front correct? Also, would you say look "behind" the ball for the driver?

    • @ChrisRyanGolf
      @ChrisRyanGolf  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep that would be ideal, changing your focus based on the club is key

  • @huttboynz4422

    Chris, I know you said it was a drill the 60 60 100 shot. But is it ok to do this all the time with iron play? I get better compression on my irons if I do this exact move, but if I set up 50/50 I haven’t quite mastered getting the perfect compression yet. By the way, this video was a real doozy! Cheers

    • @ChrisRyanGolf
      @ChrisRyanGolf  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you hit it better that way then absolutely go with it and take it to the course, all about results!

    that first tip is bleeding into stack and tilt, which people need to know it can really wreck that lead knee keeping it all loaded and twisting onto it. Took me 2 years to recover from it.

    • @ChrisRyanGolf
      @ChrisRyanGolf  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the comment, the load is not on that knee the pressure shifts to the trail leg, it’s a feeling that can help. Sounds like you had a bad experience with some swing changes which is unfortunate and hope you are back on track

    • @xerodeus2337
      @xerodeus2337 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ChrisRyanGolf yeah it was pretty bad, and that's only why I said it's bleeding into stack and tilt, which isn't for everyone, especially if you have bad knees like I apparently did lol. Thanks for the clarification!
