I was going to get the ME-80, I felt like they were too similar for the price... A friend of mine who works at GC told me they had gotten a few ME-80s and GT-100s and to come check them out before I decided. So I did. The GT-100 is just... better. They could charge a lot more than what they are for it. ITs great.
All modelling gear sounds better with the onboard cabs bypassed and using a cab impulse like guitarhacks or something along those lines. That's if you're running it through your computer and in a DAW.
Hi Mitch.... Excellent info video as always... I'm using the GT 100 and Studio One 4... How do you setup the guitar to midi in SO4.. All the Midi settings in the Gt 100 are at default and using Mai Tai for example... Much appreciated...
Could you possibly give more details on the Synth via USB, I have the exact same setup and cannot get it to work. I can hear the guitar when played and the FM8 synth will only play if I click on its keyboard manually. Thanks.
Hello, two weeks ago, I updated my Boss GT-100 version 2.0, but after doing so, the input stopped working. I can't hear any noise or sound, my cables are new and working properly. I know USB IN-OUT MODE is on REAMP, but, i can't change it in version 2.0. Please help!! i don't know how to change IN-OUT MODE to NORMAL. The option to change it, doesn't appear on system, i don't know how to do it.. help me please!
Hi there. It's after watching your video that I decided to acquire a GT100. I bought mine in early june 2017. The version delivered to me runs the firmware 2.11. I downloaded the drivers at Boss (I'm on Win7 64bit), but it appears that no current available driver manages the 2.11 firmware and my GT100 won't install. I tried on 2 other PCs (Win7 32bit and Win8.1), but none of those PCs could install the device either. Actually, when you check the Boss website, all drivers are available for GT100 v2.10, and not upper. I'm struggling with Boss now to find a solution, but so far my questions are left unanswered. The device in itself works properly, but I bought it because I intended to use the USB facilities such as managing my sounds with BossTone and use the double audio stream, which looks like a fabulous option. Unfortunately, if you can't even install the device on your PC, you can't use all that. Consequently, I'm extremely disappointed by my purchase, and my opinion of Boss/Roland has lowered drastically. Leaving customers by themselves without providing any solution isn't serious and shows the little consideration this company has for their clients. Nonetheless, your video is great, though I can only watch on vid what I intended to do for myself.
How is Studio one? I bought a PreSonus audiobox package and it came with it, however I use Mixcraft 6 and didnt feel the need to use it. However, if its better...I may consider. Anyone know?
I just got the gt 100 and it's OK . Not what I hoped it would be but I'm still new to it and need to figure it out if anyone has any helpful tips they could pass on it would be appreciated. Thanks
Hello Steve - Check out Glenn DeLaune's site. He has been using this product and the earlier versions for a long time. I'm not sure how far along he is in playing with the v2, but a review of all of his GT-100 vids (and others posted on You Tube) will really help you. I picked up a few of his custom patches, and he was very helpful. Here's his website URL: www.glenndelaune.com - Have fun! EDJ
make sure you unplug your interface usb from your computer. Then restart your computer with the GT100 usb connected and turned on. Your interface is probably blocking it. I had the same problem. You can open a ticket with roland. They are very helpful too...
So this version 2 software is for the Boss Gt-100 processor;or is it a computer program like pesonus studio one? Just wanted to understand that a little bit more? Thanks.
Roberto Marra you need to go to go into the preamp, page over to speaker cab (it defaults to original ) and change to custom (need to turn the virtual knob all the way till it says "custom" , then all the parameters will be able to use
Sir, From where i can get the software shown on your laptop in video??????? Please can you show all of the installation and connection process with tutorial..? :)
+Guimel Productions you can Google boss tone studio. I also found another program and correct me if I'm wrong, but the Librarian is a different software for importing patches. I believe the Librarian is American based while there is another software you can find through Google that also allows you to install patches from around the internet. This one is FX Floorboard and it shows the actual pedals you can set to on and off. I bring this up because the tone studio got an upgrade to version 2.0 and the Librarian doesn't work for some people because Boss didn't create a 2.0 version for Librarian so if you do find a patch online that you want to use, and in the form of .mid you might need to get FX Floorboard.
Víctor Malheiros Yes you can. In fact I have just bought a triple rectifier Mesa Boogie and I use the four cable method which you can find on TH-cam to setup. I have my guitar in the pedal, pedal to computer and to amplifier. In your case for the past year I've used a pair of Bose headphones and USB to computer only.
I had the Boss eband JS-10 a while ago, which is the same sound engine like the GT-100, the Noise Gate was really bad .. from what i can hear it's still the same
Hii..thanks for the great video :O) ...I have a question: Can i load patches (strings ore others) from the GR 55 into the GT 100? ore whats a good Soundmodul with strings and chors ore synths, to work live with the GT 100 ? Ore have anywhere some ideas ? Thanks all for our Comments :O) ROCK ON
The noise gate is fine he's probably turned it off all just got it on very so slightly👍mate can we have a good demo on how to use tone studio to the best of its ability. Cheers👍
Hey, Gavin! The program is call "Boss Tone Studio" and you can find the download at the GT-100 product page on Boss's website if you go to the 'downloads' tab. Just select the correct version for your operating system under 'Updates & Drivers'. If you have trouble finding it, give me a call or email. Thanks for your interest! halo sir...i have GT100 Ver. 01.. BOSS made USB port on it but i couldn't use it cuz it's "ver. 01".....do u have any suggestion how to connecting it to PC like ver.02 ??????? PLEASE ANSWER
marco oshio The BOSS GT-100 has a USB-out so it has a built-in interface and that's what he's using, otherwise he would've mentioned the amp etc. You need to hook it up that way in order to use the GT-100's software that this video is actually about :)
Got to pick one of these rascals. The tones I have heard from it has impressed me since they first released the GT-100 and now seeing the PC interface it is a must have. That is the one thing I always have liked about my Digitech GNX3000 as that interface is more intuitive for programming purposes.
Hello. Say hello to 2014, or honestly, even 2009. BOSS pedals sound insanely synthetic and sound like it's utilizing the technology of the 90's more than the 10's. Go check out a POD HD500. Unless you're into stuff that sounds kinda like an amp but like a bad solid state pedal, get a POD because BOSS sounds like garbage.
I wouldn't be using it for the meat & potatoes of the tone for serious recording or a live performance where I wanted my tone. The workstations are more of a quick and dirty way to find the general tone you want for a piece. For my tone I do go back a couple or so decades with my amps. :)
Rick Fontaine Or maybe my complaint is that it should sound decently like an amp before any EQing? I think that's a standard that all modern modelers should meet up to these days. The BOSS sounds like past generation modeling. And about the preset stuff, I've done a bunch of tweaking on my POD HD and it sounds phenomenal, but even before that, it actually sounds close to an amp.
Mitch, thanks for this highly informative demo of a powerful multi-effects and software combo! WOW!!! I am sold on BOSS now. :)
I was going to get the ME-80, I felt like they were too similar for the price... They could charge a lot more than what they are for it. ITs great.
A real key here is Boss Tone Central. Some amazing players & sounds there. Even for the ME 25 they have some good stuff.
Version 2.0 sounds a lot brighter than the original. Good job for Boss!
What's the diffrence? 😮
Hi Mitch. Anyway of using a keyboard with midi signals to play both a keyboard sound and your guitar sound at the same time? Thanks great demo
love that strat
All modelling gear sounds better with the onboard cabs bypassed and using a cab impulse like guitarhacks or something along those lines. That's if you're running it through your computer and in a DAW.

Sweet Water indeed it's awesome!!
Could you possibly give more details on the Synth via USB, I have the exact same setup and cannot get it to work. I can hear the guitar when played and the FM8 synth will only play if I click on its keyboard manually. Thanks.
I've tried three times and no luck
thats super cool, but how do you do that, to send 2 channels to the daw with 1 usb cable? i would love to send just clear signal to the DAW.
I didn't know i could use it as an audio interface ... thanks sir \m/

Hi Nath Zu. Give us a call at (800) 222-4700 x6400 and we can look into this further for you.
Was this problem resolved?? I was considering upgrading to version 2.0, but now, after hearing your issue, I have decided not to. Just curious.
Nice demo and great playin'

Hi, Mitch! One question: I recently got a FRFR Headrush 108 monitor. Will my GT100 sound good into it? Thank you!
How is Studio one? I bought a PreSonus audiobox package and it came with it, however I use Mixcraft 6 and didnt feel the need to use it. However, if its better...I may consider. Anyone know?
Hello Mitch,
nice demonstration of the GT-100.
What kind of studio monitors are you using?
Got one of these on clearance used (guitar center) for $300. Needed firmware update. Easy fix.
I just got the gt 100 and it's OK . Not what I hoped it would be but I'm still new to it and need to figure it out if anyone has any helpful tips they could pass on it would be appreciated. Thanks

If anyone has any tips hints or instructions on using a GT100 as an Audio Interface let me know. Can't seem to get reaper to recognise my gt100

No, it is not a DAW but works as an interface for recording guitars direct into your DAW (Pro Tools, Reaper, Cubase, Logic etc..)
why in my studio tone there's no way to select the type of mic, the cabinet settings ? Only this parameters are obscure
Roberto Marra you need to go to go into the preamp, page over to speaker cab (it defaults to original ) and change to custom (need to turn the virtual knob all the way till it says "custom" , then all the parameters will be able to use

is possible to use the gt-100 connected directly to the pc, without an amplifier?? like guitar rig?
Víctor Malheiros wanna know that too.

***** Yes it would be the same because it's the same, that's oneof the big selling points of the JS-10 ;)

galgogergo He said at the start it's BOSS's own software update for the GT-100. Got it?

The new software update allowing the synth functionality is a nice additional touch.

Lemmy Koopa Spoken like someone who doesn't bother to tweak the presets.
Rick Fontaine Or maybe my complaint is that it should sound decently like an amp before any EQing? I think that's a standard that all modern modelers should meet up to these days.

what is the software name?
How sounds like 4.24-4.28
very bad info.... una cagada no me interesan los riff de pajuo ese quiero saber sobre la coneccion
The distortion very very fake and suck~~
You cannot trust the stock presets, make your own before deciding if they are not good sounding ;)
BULSHUT !!!!
