Wow! I was skeptical at first, but this method is truly a game-changer! Thanks for sharing such valuable insights. The step-by-step instructions were easy to follow, and now I can't wait to try it out myself. The key lesson here is that sometimes the simplest methods are the most effective in solving complex problems. Kudos to you for shedding light on this easy rust removal technique!
That process of electrically removing rust is called electrolysis. I normally use washing soda or baking soda instead of salt and a 12 V DC car battery charger. I do like the idea shown in the video of using the female barrel plug with a screw terminal for connecting the wires attached to the wrench and sacrificial steel to a power source. I'll try that setup instead of the car charger in the future.
Wow! can't believe it!🤩 It is amazing that rust can be removed simply by electrolysis between iron and iron in salt water, regardless of the type of electrode.👍👍👍 Greetings from Japan.😍
That's a pretty bad-arse'd trick right there !! And I've got several of those a/c converters sitting in drawers from electronics I've bought over the years. I'm gonna try this one one day soon. peace
Ok but steel wool would have taken the rust off as well- but basically, itll bake the rust off, tarnish the metal, so then you still have to scrub it with steel wool either way in order to get back to shiny metal? Is there not a method to remove all rust using household products or liquids/fluids that doesnt require soaking for 12 hours and will remove all rust without scrubbing or potentially electrocuting oneself? In the meantime, i think ill stick to the bench grinder with wire brush attachment. And ive yet to find a manufactured product designed for removing rust that i felt did an exceptional job and truly got the item back to the original metal color without some sort of additional scrubbing involved. Either way, i guess youre still going to end up scrubbing it with steel wool one way or the other... slightly disappointed ill admit. But, still cool to watch tho. Thanks for sharing. 😊
We have a product in New Zealand called CRC Evapo-Rust. I was sceptical when I first came across it but tried it and it really blows the competition away. Not sure where in the world you are but you may be able to find it.

Very impressive, but some more words of explanation would be useful. e.g. why do you need the blowtorch, why the oil, and do you put it in the oil while still hot?
L'anticalcare lo uso con successo per rimuovere ruggine e incrostazioni di calcio, da fucili e pistole della prima guerra mondiale (1915-1918) che trovo sull'altopiano di Asiago (Veneto - Italia) col metaldetector. Rimettendoli funzionanti (solo meccanicamente of course).
What is the power source voltage ? That did not look like american 110 AC when it was plugged in. I will try it with 110 AC but I suspect it is 220 as found in many european countries.
Thank you! Is there a specific material that should be used for the reservoir? Is it a glass dish? Is there any material that should be avoided, for the reservoir?... I presume metal is definitely not good to use for the reservoir

Hello, what program do you use to record your videos?
Will that work with a 12 V battery?
I filmed with iPhone xs
If the source is 12v, the power supply must be 2A or more, the results will be faster

Not really sure what is so quick and easy about this method? Maybe if it as the last wrench on earth I would attempt.

Steel

@@creationholic101 So the object to be rusted must be connected to the negative electrode? Or can it be connected to the positive terminal?
Easier to just cover it with white vinegar in a container for at least 12 hours.
For old rust stains, I recommend doing it this way
You try it and see what rust has to say about it. But try it, don't fib about trying it.

A very unconvincing way to get rid of rust. You can buy much more effective preparations in the store.
