- At the FEA curated Prabhati concert, Pt. Venkatesh Kumar sang Raag Bhairavi as the encore to his marathon three-hour performance. It ended with a standing ovation from the audience.
Venkateshji was accompanied by Bharat Kamat on tabla, Ajay Joglekar on harmonium, Shivraj Patil and Ramesh Kolkunda on tanpura and supporting vocals.

This is both an aural and visual delight. The expressions of the accompanying musicians along with Panditji's great recital makes this film a rare and complete experience... One cannot be content to simply 'hear' this. You have to watch it too...
nag2810 but in another video of Raag Shudh Kalyan or Vrindavani Sarang, the accompanying artist seems to be a person suffering from severe brain damage or something related to neural networks injuries.... I am speaking only about the bad guy, the accompanist.

When I was small, my dad used to play a CD of Panditji singing Drut Teental bandish in raga Kedar (Kanha Re Nand), to which I was hooked. That's where I developed an appreciation for Indian Classical Music, which I carry to this date. Pranams to Pandit ji for inspiring 1000s to listen/learn/appreciate Indian Classical Music.
On a side note, it would be great if someone/FEA could inform the tanpura player to refrain from making that unnecessary noise throughout the presentation, which seems like a bad habit he carries through several occasions/videos. Absolute silence is a better form of appreciation.
We agree about the tanpura player. We actually showed him the video and brought his annoying habit to his notice. At a subsequent concert with Panditji, he refrained from making the same mistake.

Thanks for pointing out the background noise. Many beautiful videos of Panditji carry this background noise which is so unfortunate. But we try to mask it out while listening to the magic of Pandit ji ❤
