- First Edition Arts organised and curated their third annual Diwali Concert Series on 4th October 2014. The event was sponsored by Union Bank of India and was held at Ravindra Natya Mandir, Prabhadevi, Mumbai.
This year's headlining artiste was Pt. Venkatesh Kumar. He performed a wonderful Raag Shuddh Kalyan for an absolutely spellbound audience. He was accompanied by Pt. Raghunath Nakod on tabla, Ajay Joglekar on harmonium, Basavraj Hiremath and Jayant Naidu on tanpura.
The concert was held at Ravindra Natya Mandir, Prabhadevi, Mumbai.

what a team work. the harmonium is tuned exactly matching to Pt V.K voice. Also tabla player playing with Excellent restraint and not do any kalabaazi
I do not have any word to express myself after hearing the raga sudh kalyan in sweet voice of Pt Venkatesh. I have listened at least 100 times of pt Bhimsen Joshi and many a times of other signers in hindusthan classical on Raga Sudh Kalyan. But Pt Venkatesh melodious voice has just reached in bottom of my heart. Now it is my regular practice to listen to him at least once in a day. Long live Panditji and keep us happy with your sweet voice.
Asimbhai - I am great fan of Rashid Khan - but this raag I agree Venkatesh Kumar is amazing - I have listened this to so many times I cant just stop -- I know how you feel.

Panditji is always excellent performer and great human being. Very down to earth. He have developed his Gayaki with lot of hardship. He can Sing for 4 to 5 hours without sipping drop of water.

This is in addition to my earlier comments. I consider his voice a little more Bass than that of the great Bharatratna Pt Bhimsen Joshi and hence, to me more sensational. I simply love listening to his singing. He is awesome. God bless him

I being a Vocal n Instrumental training teacher , since my childhood ,more than 50 times i hv heard this raaga ,just as Bhoop, Bhoop Kalyan , this raag has its own identity.Pt.Venkateshkumar s style is very precise no words to express. I have heard this raag from Pt. Bhimsen ji n that also at LakshmiVilasPalace durbar hall Vadodara, so such a royal raag, through royal artist n in the royal atmosphere.🙏🌹🙏🏻 Natamastak.
