Challenger 2e (export) with its SAGEM CITV and 1500hp Europowerpack would be a nice addition to the British tech tree. Couple of corrections however. Firstly whilst the MOD started looking for challenger’s replacement in ‘87 the British army had plans to run a mixed heavy armour fleet of challenger 2’s, challengers and even chieftains well into the 90’s and as such challenger 1 gun tanks weren’t sold off to Jordan until 2001, the mk3’s they received didn’t come with the additional armour packages either. Secondly the theatre entry standard (TES) specification was put together in 2008 replacing the Dorchester 2E armour packs and ERA with 2F standard armour packs and a RWS when it became apparent the British army’s challenger 2’s would be involved with fighting the insurgency war in Iraq, TES was later updated in the mid 2010’s to replace the 2F standard with 2H add on armour as well as the Saab barracuda thermal obscuration camouflage. I also suspect this video was put together a while ago since the vehicle set to replace challenger 2 has been chosen as challenger 3.

Q : Why do the British still rely upon the old rifled barrel despite its lower life due to wear and tear. ? Why they haven't ever stepped towards HEAT-FS ? What is there ideology of sticking specifically towards HESH and APDS/APDSFS?
The reason Britain chose the rifled L30a1 gun for the challenger 2 is because the British army had been operating mixed fleet for decades, for example centurions ran with chieftain and chieftains were operated alongside challenger. The British army were expecting to operate a mixed challenger/challenger 2 fleet in ‘91 when VDS delivered the prototypes and as such it was important to have an armament that could use ammunition of its predecessor.

My favourite tank of all time. There is a good book called main battle tank set during the 2nd gulf war. It follows the story of a Challenger 2 tank crew during the push to Basra. I highly recommend this book as you will read more combat tales than you read in Wikipedia.
hey WT why dont you classify Abrams and Chieftan and Leopard not as medium tank but MBT because it inacurrate to classify those as medium tanks in the tech tree
Very interesting thought though, what if the revolution never happened and Iran ended up with that tank would the British just go through with the expensive tank without even thinking about the other mbt or would they see how well the tank built for Iran came out and end up with that anyway? 🤔
That will likely come when hard kill active protection systems are added (hopefully next year) as black night is just a standard British army challenger 2 with updated gunner optics, CITV and iron fist APS.
Loved the comment at the end saying the challenger 2 LEP isn't in the game "yet". Gen 3 commander and gunners thermals here we go, also the new turret and gun will be amazing. The L55A1 smoothbore with DM63A1 (aka DM73) will be lovely and in the future maybe even DM73A1. Can't wait👍

@@brognog1145 if you rig stats with 100k players yes ;)
@@brognog1145 yes. If I'm not mistaken a group already did that before to a German Sabre
I feel that the revolution in the long run secured Britain a safer future with only the leppard and abrams being able to compete with the challenger also rip to the 5.3 challenger not getting mentioned :(
Can we have the shir 1 and shir 2 tanks in game?(as premium or event)a chieftain with 1200hp engine could be fun.
Challenger 2 Falcon would be good addition to family :D
a year and a day ago they published the chieftan mbt video
Thank the gods that Bruce is all better!! and just out out curiosity are you guys able to do the leopard? And please let Bruce dot he voice over 🙏
Im glad to hear youre improving rapidly and back to boring the pants off (but very enjoyable) of us with your very monotonous voice bruce!
I prefer All Challenger 2 variants they are the best for me, btw great video love it. :)
When will you repair the controls on the Xbox? The left-right turn was inverted on the spot after the patch, the whole forum is littered with topics, and the developer is silent?
Yay, Bruce is back
5:41 Looks like the birds that live near my house travel overseas.
Remember the time when a guy leaked secret military documents to prove the challenger in war thunder is inaccurate?
That's a nice tank you have there, would be a shame if someone leaked it xD
Yooo! Bruce is back!
Question: I just got the f6f 5n and I don’t have the radar lead indicator. When I look at old videos of it, it has the lead indicators. Same with lots of other radars
My favourite tank of all time. There is a good book called main battle tank set during the 2nd gulf war. It follows the story of a Challenger 2 tank crew during the push to Basra. I highly recommend this book as you will read more combat tales than you read in Wikipedia.
Why There So Many Tank That More Like Abraham Tank From USA Just As The One From UK And The Other One From Italy
hey WT why dont you classify Abrams and Chieftan and Leopard not as medium tank but MBT because it inacurrate to classify those as medium tanks in the tech tree
Hope Bruce is feeling better🙂😊
I prefer the 5.3 challenger so that I don't suffer
Fascinating. Love these kind of videos. 👍
Very interesting thought though, what if the revolution never happened and Iran ended up with that tank would the British just go through with the expensive tank without even thinking about the other mbt or would they see how well the tank built for Iran came out and end up with that anyway? 🤔
Challenger 3 better come!
Now we have the cr3
Q Why does the t34 driver hatch sometimes bounce the shells of a KING Tiger?
Cause its made of stalinium don't question it.
Could you try to make a full adjustable fuel load for planes so you can decide if you want to take 10,11,12 or 13 minutes of fuel ?
I wonder where the challenger 2 black knight that you teases before?
That will likely come when hard kill active protection systems are added (hopefully next year) as black night is just a standard British army challenger 2 with updated gunner optics, CITV and iron fist APS.
i trust my life in the mighty BESH
Thank God Bruce is better what could we have done without you? Also Q : should I buy the t 72 av turms and how much will the deals stay on the game?
The sales last till 11:00 Am on the 27th (i think)
@@davidmartin4812 YES THANKS IF THIS IS TRUE I LOVE YOU AND GAIJIN I TAKE BAVK ALL MY JOKES ON THE SNAIL
I've been playing the challenger mk2 today and I am researching the mk3 lol 🙃
Challanger gets fun at 9.3+
why does the challenger tanks still sound like a 3 cylinder old tractor engine?
Loved the comment at the end saying the challenger 2 LEP isn't in the game "yet". Gen 3 commander and gunners thermals here we go, also the new turret and gun will be amazing. The L55A1 smoothbore with DM63A1 (aka DM73) will be lovely and in the future maybe even DM73A1. Can't wait👍
4:21 BRAZIL!, my country of birth, what an honorable mention!
1:11 This is not accurate. After the agreement was void, the British Kept the money but did not deliver. That is why they still owe Iran, Not IR, £400m. Maybe that's how your industry survived ;)
Lmao, finders keepers
@@davidmartin4812 You sound like a Brit
@@a_student0 That's because a of the disruptions to Iranian government and change in policies. I can't imagine the UK wouldve wanted to give those tanks or the money to a dictatorship...
@@a39tortoise40 I did't ask why, I just said the video has a serious misinformation issue which I'm pretty sure they will Not fix. FYI: They are now trying to find a way to give the money to the mullahs. I say because it suits them. like when they starved a third of Iranian population to death because it suited them.
The Challenger tank is why I play other nations. I wanna play Britain but it ends with the Chally, which means other nations are much more worth the time
True... Sadly... I have 11.0 as brits.. but its just waaay harder to perform well with those slow ass challys... Literally no armor at all...bc everyone knows how big that weakspot is... And speed is just meta ...
