Definitely interesting to see your reading pages! I also used to think I'm not a big reader, but signing up to the library and starting my reading journal definitely changed that 😊
Oh man, that Fear Street book took me way back. I went on a nostalgia binge a while back and bought the Fear Street Sagas books, plus LJ Smith's Night World. Zero regrets.
Jashii! You've done it again! You've reignited an enthusiasm for my reading journal that I started in 2019 but neglected a few months in even though I've continued reading. That journal is mostly empty, but I think I'm ok with a 4-year break. 😬 Thanks for your usual thoughtful content.
Thanks for sharing this with us Jess. I hope your reading year is successful and fun. I once saw a prompt that suggested you read a book with a cover you think is ugly. That one got me thinking...
Best Character being Cassian is 100% so real. lol I love him. Also, your review of Heir of Fire is exactly how I felt and after finishing the series and sitting with it, I realized why that was for me. I think if I'd read Assassin's Blade prior to it, I would have had the introduction to some of the people in HOF which would have helped my connection to the story more. Maybe one day I'll go back and reread just to see if that flows better for me, but I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt that way in HOF.
Wondering if I could access a clear photo or document of your descriptions for CAWPILE??? I'd love to do a similar thing in my journal and would love to have a look at what your notes for them say! :) Gorgeous journal by the way, your scrapbooking style is so cute
@@JashiiCorrin Hey, I'm eventually starting a reading journal and I'd really love a document of the cawpile system as well (fiction and non-fiction). Could you let us know if you manage to put it online? Thank you sooo much!
@@JashiiCorrinthe first book in CC made me cry and I mean ugly cry a few times. FW did too, but I'm absolutely in love with CC, FW and ACOTAR. I'll be reading book two to each series in January as well as a few of the books in the Dragon Kings Chronicles. I've been contemplating the ToG series though. Would you recommend it?
Book recommendations: Memoirs of a Geisha...fictional story based on the real life of a true Giesha. I read this book from cover to cover and it remains one of my favorite books ever. Year of Yes by Shonda Rimes...a damn good read and I like that she wrote this book like she was having a long conversation with a friend. The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks...this one hits home a bit because my own mother died of cancer. The main character, Henrietta Lacks died a tragic death, but cells taken from her body after her passing helped to advance health sciences in many ways; due to the research of her cells, medical professionals are able to detect and treat various forms of cancer a lot more efficiently than ever before. I also very strongly recommend anything written by R.L. Stein...you will not be disappointed...
Every time Jess says she's not a reader I'm gonna draw pictures in her journal...in pen 😂😂😂 Kidding!! I would never! That's actually too mean. But I'm here to remind you, that you are a reader, no matter how many books you read!! ❤
Okay, don't laugh, but it went completely over my head that I can have a reading journal that's long term and not annual! I have too many hobbies and don't read enough for a reading journal set up for a year but I always wanted to have one. Literally needed to watch your video to realize: Wait... I CAN have a reading journal - I just don't need to make it yearly, instead I can have it as long as it lasts
Heck yeah 💪 that was one of the reasons why I held off from making a reading journal for such a long time; I didn’t think I read enough to warrant having one, especially when I would see all of these reading journals online where the entire notebook was filled in just one year 😝 glad this video could help you get into the long-term reading journal mindset like me 🥳
@@JashiiCorrin It definitely helped! I still have an empty journal which I will set up now. 🥳 Your channel has easily become my favorite go-to place for advice! Btw. if you ever make a video about creative-work-related journals (I am a writer and trying to organize my prompts and my progress in a journal) you would make one fan here incredibly happy ❤
I- that map is stunning amazing job wow
Thanks! 😄💜 it was a lil labour of love 🥰
what a gorgeous journal, that map is INSANE ❤❤❤
Thanks! 😄 it was a labour of love, haha 💜
OMFG?? This is the most beautiful reading journal I have ever seen! I love it!! 😍😍
Haha thanks! 😄💜 Glad you liked it!

Yeah it’s been fun to see how having my reading journal has made the whole reading process more fun 😄💜
I love this chonky progress! This journal is gonna grow up to be such a big, happy boy 🤠
Gonna be hella thicc 👀 and I love it, haha
(Even if the spine doesn’t 😝)
I've started using the CAWPILE rating system this year and I like how you make a note of each letter's score. I might have to try that in February.
Wanted to know after the fact how I assigned my full rating 😝💜
Oh man, that Fear Street book took me way back. I went on a nostalgia binge a while back and bought the Fear Street Sagas books, plus LJ Smith's Night World. Zero regrets.
Haha yeah Vogel and I watched the Fear Street movies on Netflix and it got me wanting to reread them all so bad 😂
Gorgeous journal Jess, can't wait to see what 2024 brings you reading wise :)
Thanks! 😄 I’m chuffed with my 2024 setup and am excited to do more of the little reviews and just-for-fun pages 🥳💜
My favorite reading prompt is to spin a color wheel and pick a book that has that color on the cover!
That’s a fun one 😄💜

Just need a “4 years later” *SpongeBob voice* page, or an Error 404 2020 - 2023 not found 😝 Glad you enjoyed the flip through!
Oh my, these are so stunning! I just posted my reading journal flip through too 💖
I'm excited to begin my career in a helping field next year after a couple of hard years completing my master's degree!
Thanks for sharing this with us Jess. I hope your reading year is successful and fun. I once saw a prompt that suggested you read a book with a cover you think is ugly. That one got me thinking...
That’s a cool prompt, especially given the whole “don’t judge a book by its cover” thing 😛
I've been debating the purchase since you 1st released the map for sale... and today I finally hit the "place order" button without hesitation.
Your reading journal looks great! I love the overall theme and how you have it laid out. Thank you for sharing it with us today!! ❤️😘
Most welcome! 😄💜 Glad you liked it!
Omg -so this is ever after was such a cute read!!! ❤ would make a good hallmark movie for sure! 😆
I’d watch it! 💜

He’s great 😂 glad I’m not alone with my HOF thoughts! 💜
Love the map, too. I have an 8 x 8 archer and Oliver square journal. Any chance you’ll make the downloadable available in that size?
Lol love the idea of reading a book with a character named Steve and colouring in Steve 😂❤
Haha 😂 certainly a way to have the map turn into reading prompts 💪
Very awesome for someone who " doesn't read much" lol cant wait to see how many you read in 2024
Haha thanks! 😄💜 eager to get to do reviews as I read rather than all at once 😝

I'll add it to my list of things to type up and put in our resource library! Probably easier to see that way 💪💜

I just finished Fourth Wing and can’t wait to read Iron Flame. Sadly it got damaged in transit so it had to go back. 😢
That one is on the list 🤙 gotta finish the ToG series and CC or Monica will disown me 😝

The urge to start a reading journal is increasing 😂 do you have a separate video on your CAWPILE system?
I don’t have a dedicated video, but we talked through it in a livestream! 💜

Yeah we learned about Henrietta Lacks at uni 💜 RL Stine was my favourite author in high school, haha 😄
The map❤❤❤❤ hi, Steve!!!
Steve says hi 😂💜
I would suggest adding "The untethered soul by Michael Singer" to your list. By far the best book I have ever read.
Oh cool! Thanks for the recommendation 😄💜
I also have 16 books read so far in 2023 (8 in July and nothing Mar-May).
Nice 💪 I was quite pleased with myself to get the number I did. I only just made it to 12 in 2022, but am now sitting at almost 25 in 2023 😄💜
Agree with Rachel's rec 😏
Glad there’s a second vouching of it 😂
Can you link the typewriter keys paper?
Reading Prompt-read a book with song lyrics as a title
Oh nice idea! Thanks 😄💜
For any alphabet challenge I just ommit "a", "an" or "the" in the title. Just not to lose my sanity :D
Me too
Same 😛 but all the “A Court of” books still start with C 😂

I really like the idea of a reading journal, but I don't like reading that much so I wouldn't use it😭
Yeah I was originally considering doing a “media” journal so I could include movies and tv shows which I often consume more of 😝
