Eeeeepp thank you for featuring my journal! ❤❤ Again minimal context but you did amazing considering (is this the recurring idea now 🤔). Also LOVE the background! Love that colour and it suits the journal!
Absolutely impressive! Both the journal and the actual reading. I love how you organize everything so perfectly, with so much information being tracked, yet manage to keep it so beautiful! Quick reader curiosity, why did you cross out reading Well of Ascension?
Ah yes,. the """foxgloves""". Totally what they are. Yep. 😆 Anyway, it's very nice of Monica to let us see another of her reading journals. This is certainly an interesting experience as the way she journals differs a lot from the style I use. I don't read nearly enough to do statistics, but the concept of keeping them fascinates me and I'm definitely keeping it as a potential thing to try in the future if I dedicate more time to reading.
Your videos are how I found Monica in the first place and I've been following her on IG ever since! She's given me so much inspiration for my reading journal for 2024. :) Thank you both for your contribution to this community!
So happy to get another video look into Monica's reading journals! I absolutely adore the way she is able to record so much data in one spread, such as her Reading Tracker page. It's a powerhouse of information. MDSC stands for the names of the four of us reading together (I've just seen Sept and now know you know this!). Always makes me so happy to see our little buddy reads represented in any journal! I'm so in awe and inspired by all the statistics. Honestly the Statistics Queen for reading. Lmfao, I remember the foxglove spread and messaging her saying that the single foxgloves had me questioning what I was looking at XD I also love how we played Bookopoly over two months because Becca surprised us all with the Spookoplathon. And you need to join us Jess for this year's bookopoly board. Even if you just roll the dice once! Damn Monica went all out for Get A Clue. I love that. I think I just made a list lol! I am definitely going to do the Book Matrix this year. Totally walking away from this video with more ideas for my reading journal. Thanks so much for sharing, Jess. I love the joy you have for showcasing Monica's journals xx
Thanks Chelle! It's really nice to be able to showcase her journal on the channel, even if just to give people a different take from how I tackle my reading journal, but also cause her work deserves celebration 🥳 Wouldn't be opposed for joining in Bookopoly, though if I roll a bad number I'll riot 😝 #JessTheMoodyMoodReader 😂
As always, Monica, your reading journal is *ridiculous*…in the absolute best way. So well done, so pretty and so much fun to snoop through!! Glad to see your handwriting, sticker and tip-in game is as on point as usual. Thanks for sharing again, and giving me hardcore envy for yet another year 😂😝 Also, Jess, re the single foxgloves, you weren’t the only one. I definitely did a double-take each time I saw them 😮😅
I also dont read as much as Monica does but I love the flip throughs because they do give me a yearly challenge. I am currently using a bookopoly board for 2024, and for next year Im very interested in the magical academy. One day I might be cool enough to do monthly challenges.
I reckon you're pretty cool, jus' sayin' 🤙 The challenges can be a lot of fun! I certainly find them challenging cause I'm more of a mood reader, but they can be a good way to get outside of your typical reads 😄
I was convinced I had to have a square notebook for my reading journal. And I intended to buy one for this. But then I stumbled upon a B6 with this design you show. And got the A5 from the sub box. Since books are rectangles too, it makes much more sense to me to put my reviews and other reading related journaling into these B6 and A5 notebooks. So yay for you Jessica, although Monica’s notebook is beautiful too 💛
This gave me a few more spread ideas. I always love Monica’s journal. Mine is based off of hers minus some of the book clubs. But I’m looking for more book clubs and read-a-thons.
I am blown away by her creativity, her neatness, her dedication. It always floors me that people can read that many books. I read at bedtime for 5 minutes, lol! It would take me a decade to fill out a journal like that. But dang, she sure is inspirational.
Fabulous insight! You can definitely see your passion for reading shine through with the hours you have dedicated in creating this stunning record of your reading escapades!
Monica you are amazing. I love all the decorations and colors you used... I'm a purple person too so I really loved the purple pumpkins. I have shared this video with my dear friend, who is also a bibliophile, as she was mentioning just last night that she might take an old journal book and starts some form of a book journal. Due to her medical conditions, she is limited as to how much she can physically write or type, so the idea of printing stickers to decorate, or even to vocally dictate her personal notes on each book and print them out on label/sticker paper to put in a journal, is perfect for her. Thank you so much @Monica.Bibliophilebynight for allowing Jess to share you beautiful, in depth and inspiring journal!
Glad we could really highlight in this one that stickers are an excellent and viable option 💪 Monica does excellent work with them 💜 hope your friend finds the video helpful!
Im doing my best to read a few books this year to finally get back to reading. I have too many that just sit on my bookcase that are just sitting in dust so I've trying to push myself. Seeing such variety of tracking styles is just jaw dropping when you were going through those her pages. Seeing some graphic novels makes me feel a lil better in trying to ease myself into reading 😅. I have a lot of comics so this gives me great ideas on organizing what I'm reading❣ Monica is True bookworm Goals❤🔥

Loved this. The individual foxgloves were hilarious. I may try the book matrix. I never liked the bracket because it's hard to pick a book for each month, then the issue you mentioned.

LOVE the video. I am working on my first Reading journal for 2025, and your channel has been the most helpful and enjoyable to watch. BTW.....on the foxglove flower.....I see it too 😸
This video was amazing. I might have missed this somewhere along my 10 full watch throughs (it's fine everything's fine). Does anyone know Monica labeled everything with specific stickers? Was it a label maker?
Bonus of your prioritisation matrix- you can just add all your five star reads to it and pick only from those, so if you have a bad reading month, it doesn’t take a place that could be occupied by a much better read
I’m listening to the audiobook of Fourth Wing. I had the version from library that had multiple readers for each character. Have to wait for second part next month I think, so got the audiobook via audible and got Iron Wing too. Foxglove petals? I saw penis first and then thought maybe an odd bottle or crystal before you said they were the petals. Monica - AWESOME job! If I was to do a reading journal, that would be what it would look like
I didn’t create it, but I did introduce it to Monica 😊 we talk more about it in this video: th-cam.com/video/qZaXIIjhJgs/w-d-xo.html (not the whole thing, just a segment; I think the matrix needs its own video)
What sticker paper does Monica use for her titles? I also print my own stickers for my journals but my paper is very shiny, I like the more matte look. Monica's handwriting is gorgeous, the whole journal looks fantastic 😍
I have a question for Monica. so if you're reading a book and it spans two months, in which month do you record it in? the month when you started it, or the month when you finished it? or do you start 'new' every 1st of the month? and make sure you finish everything ay the last day of the month?
I rarely read books that span longer than a month, purely because I like to start the month with a “blank slate” but if I do, I track it across the calendar spreads and put it on my TBR list as number one in the next month. I put a line dragging from the beginning of box for the 1st to signify its a hangover - I hope that makes sense!
@@Monica.Bibliophilebynight yes, that does make sense. Thank you. I didn't mean that they last a really long time, but just wondered if you started a book on the 29th, and finished it on the 3rd of the next month, that kind of thing. My own fault for being about to go to sleep, but also get the question in. Thanks for that🙂

@@JashiiCorrin amazing thanks! Yea I’ve just done a deep dove into Monica’s instagram to find and yea no physical items currently! Gonna have to get on procreate and design my own ones I think! Thanks so much for replying to my message 👍🏻 love ur videos! Gives me some me time while cooking tea for my daughter! 🫶🏻
Yeah...definitely not foxgloves but I love the journal

@@JashiiCorrin thank you!! so stunning
I was so surprised she put iron flame as her top. I couldn’t even get through 50 pages of fourth wing before putting it down
I guess that’s the nice part about books and reading; there are plenty for all preferences 💪
@@JashiiCorrin it is super interesting! So glad there are such a wide range of authors available!
Different strokes for different folks and luckily the world has such a variety of books and authors for people to enjoy 😊
Where did Monica get the one star rating with number on the top?
Amazing how does Monika get her stats?
She records her reads in a spreadsheet (linked in the description box) which is set up to produce the lil stat-graphs 😄
How does she make her own stickers?
I use a printer and a silhouette machine 😊
Hi :D
Hi! 😄💜
Do she pre tab her months and how does she do that
She tabs her months as she goes using write-on tabs from Daiso 😊
@@JashiiCorrinthank you

😂 I know right!?
Laughing at "mind hole"...🤣
😝 glad you liked that one, haha
Why did you have to tell me that those do not look like foxgloves??? Now I can't un-see it!
Sorry! 😝😅
Am I the only dumb person who doesn't understand the book matrix??. Literally I feel stupid watching it 😂😂😂
I have a video that explains it more in depth that might help! 💜 th-cam.com/video/rliGrJXmgNo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=RRR85DHkXZJz3f09
You are not the only one and that is all I saw until you said Foxgloves.😊 Christina🦝
