Hi team! 💜In a recent livestream we went through how I use my rating system for my books, with a look at a fiction book in particular 💪 That section of the livestream can be found at th-cam.com/users/liveC_PLaUIUpVM?si=u6-KwhcwMZ43j-mf&t=2490 if you were curious 😄
Oh my God I was literally about to comment “can you sell us a copy of that map I’ll pay for it” but she linked a printable in the description 🥹 queen thank you
I love this!! I am actually a huge reader, but I am terrible at keeping up with a physical reading journal. I've been using Goodreads for like 10 years now, but I accidentally started using StoryGraph AND a Google sheet log this year 😅 But I'm hoping to cut back on those next year and bring back my physical journal, at least for the books I love
Yeah I knew that I wasn’t going to do any reviews in this journal or whatnot, so I’m trying to keep the filling in portion relatively minimal so I keep up with it 😝
The map is EVERYTHING. I laughed myself into a slight coughing fit (going down with the OTP ship got me good) and I have to show this to my book club buddies now 😂 this is fantastic!
I started a reading journal this year. If nothing else it helps me remember which books in a series I have read. Words and I are not friends so I make a collage for each book. It's a lot of fun. I ended up cutting the spine open about March because it was so chunky. I will make it a new spine at the end of the year. Thank you for sharing your reading journal.
This is really neat! I have been recording all the books I've read over the past few years, but I just write it in my bullet journal, or more recently I've been keeping a note in google Keep. I especially like the Series Tracker page - and great idea to start from the right!
I use a single reading journal for multiple years. It's been several years, but I only track the titles read each year in a bookshelf format, plus a series tracker (which makes sense because it takes years to read some series). I also have some long-term spreads (banned books read, graphic novels read) and some other challenges. I track my TBR on Goodreads. LOVE that map. I'll buy it soon and add it to the front of my journal where I have a blank spread.
This is so very helpful, JashiiCorrin. I will use this not only for my leisure reads but also for my studies. Your CAWPILE and Rating System are very useful.
I love these ideas so much! Very inspiring as I start my own very first reading journal. Thank you for taking the time to detail each step of your process, as it's super helpful for a newbie like me.
I love this so much Jess, it's stunningly beautiful. I'm in the 2nd year of using a reading journal and I have to say it's so much fun. I do have monthly calendars in mine and a future log so that I can keep track of non-reading things as well. I've taken notes and screenshots of your rating system and I'm going to use them as inspiration for my 2024 reading journal. Now to just decide which size journal to use, assuming I'm not able to grab the Sept A&O sub box lol Going to have a look at buying your map :)
Thanks! 😄💜 I’ve been finding the journal fun so far, so I’m hoping that that enthusiasm continues 🤞 it would be a shame to have set up something that I like so much only to not use it 😝
This is such a great idea! I keep a book journal where I write a page (or so) of thoughts and reflections on each book as I finish it. I also have a spreadsheet (Google Sheets), mostly so that when I fill the notebook up I can sort the books by Author, Title, Series name, and use that to make indexes at the back. (The Table of Contents at the front is purely chronological.) I love the idea of having statistics and a place to record books I've firmly decided to read (so I don't have to have a pile on a table in my craft room) and that sort of thing. Thank you!!
This is the first time I've commented. I loved watching your journal setup. Would like to have seen a little closer so I could see some of your descriptions. Also, yes, I would love to hear about all of your other ideas and about your corporal rating system. I probably should just join your patrons because I watch you all the time and generally I want to see more. The reading journal is the original reason I started watching journal videos at all
You rating scale descriptors are hilarious and on point! I would love a deeper dive on the process to adapt the rating system you find to you and your style.
I have been watching you for SOOOOOOO FRICKIN LONG!!!!! I have been so Stressed Out this Year, I havent watched a BuJo Video since you 2022 Flip-Thru & New BuJo Setup.... this is the 1st year I FROZE when I Opened My BuJo.... it is still blank in still in the A&O box that My Husband Gifted me in 2022 for 2023 .... Hate myself for it. just so OCD this year. All This to say, I LOVE YOUR HAIR!!!!!! And if you come to the U.S. , Please still consider Looking Us up!
i’m not a consistent reader but since retirement i’ve started reading again! your reading journal looks beautiful 😍 so 2024 will be full of reading journals! thanks for being so inspirational!
I love the Series tracker, I have been trying to figure out how to do that in my TBR journal, so this is perfect. Thanks for the example, can't wait to put this in.
Yes to all of the page idea videos! Those videos are some of my favorites from you especially as a reference to go back to when setting up a NuJo. Thanks for the inspo! I setup a spread on books in my current journal and I’m excited to read so that I can fill it in. Great motivation for this non-reader who loves to check off a checkbox!
I am paused at 1:25 to write this comment. I saw the map on the first page and INSTANTLY hit the subscribe button! I am SOLD on your channel already! Can't wait to finish the video now haha!
It's soooo beautiful! Breathtaking... I have similar washitapes, and craftpapers, inspired me for more types of special journals... (Moon and astrology, books, etc.) Thank a lot for tips and inspiration! 🥰😇🙏
Oh lord… I was not planning to do a reading journal this year, which is why I’m only now watching this. (I normally watch all your videos as they come out, Jess! 😊) But this journal is so lovely, it makes me want to make one straight away, and I do have the day off so… 🙈😬
I love it. It's simple, yet has an elegance to it. I hope you find it useful and enjoy using it. I'm looking forward to update videos on the reading journal. I also use the CAWPILE rating system. G is an absolute doll for sharing her spreadsheet with the world.
Jesssss! It's fabulous, as I expected it to be. I love the scrapbook vibe. Also just purchased the map, as I mentioned I was going to do when you shared on IG. Cannot wait to see how you use your reading bujo, and for a video on those page ideas - I happened to take a cheeky screenshot but looking forward to seeing what you do when explaining them. I'm here for all the reading bujo content!
Wow that is so amazing. So much great work went into the prep and work of your journey. What’s great and fun way to keep on track and stay engaged!!!! I need to read more. Ugh. Cheers!!!!!!
Loved watching (& appreciating your obvious delight & enthusiasm) this video - the scrapbook vibe is awesome. I'm now wondering if I read 'enough' to warrant my setting up a reading journal. 😊
I know that feeling; I held off with making this for a good long while because I didn't feel that I read enough 😅 Having this set up now though is encouraging me to read more, haha 😝
I loved this reading journal setup! However, my favorite was the map 😍 Definitely have some ideas on how to set up my next reading journal. Especially to consolidate some to fit more entries, since I read a lot!
This looks soooo good. I honestly kept it simple with my own reading journal. Just some pages with which day I read, how many pages, which books i've read and then the book covers with the rating etc. I think my reading journal will last many many years this way haha. Also I love the subscription box notebook, it's so lovely. I'm still waiting for it to open up again to buy it, because i'd love to have the september one, i've already seen bits and pieces and i'm in love. Hopefully it will be available for me soon!
@@JashiiCorrin I just saw the notification yeah. I also just saw the a&o unboxing video and I love all of it. Just a bit sad that the small red notebook is with lines instead of dot grid. Not sure what i'm gonna use that for as I already have so many journals with lines and I barely use it. But I guess for others it's exactly what they wanted. Maybe we'll find something for it and maybe not haha
First, 😍 that map!!? It deserves its own video. Love it. The OTP, Steve, One Bed Inn... I can't stop laughing. Again, love it. Second, the theme and color palette is so lovely~ It screams books and reading time. It looks perfect. I might not read many books, but this and the last flip through reading journal motivated me to finally organize all the fanfics I've been saving for years. Wouldn't mind to see some of those page ideas in the future. ❤
I actually am waiting for the sub box to arrive to set-up my reading journal. Still debating whether to use this one or a B6 bookstack. But I think I’m maybe going for trackers, results and challenges like you did in one notebook and the reviews in the other 🤔
I personally don't do monthly/weekly/daily layouts for my reading journal, just as I don't really stick to reading in those timeframes 😝 We did have Monica's journal on the channel though, and she uses monthly pages 😄 th-cam.com/video/UAqx_l53YM0/w-d-xo.html
I always love your spreads and writing in general, but you absolutely killed this. I am sitting at my desk quietly going Wow that looks so good (don't wanna wake the toddler lol) and my dog is looking at me like I am crazy. Also i vote yes for any and all future reading journal content!
It took as long more so because of coming up with the place names rather than drawing the landmasses, but I have seen the rice technique and it looks pretty cool! 😄💜
Maaaaan. I've had a bad year and a bad brain, and I fell off my bujo and reading game for months. Your videos always help get me back into it when that happens🖤
Steve… thats probably what my dad looks like now… havemt seen him since I was 5… i have two boxes of archer and olive stuff yet to use… i tune into your channel vicariously enjoying your designs… but really because you make me laugh out loud at least once a video…😂😂😂❤❤❤
I lost it at “The OTP” little sinking ship in the map 🤣 I’m loving this idea! I used to be an avid reader but I kinda lost the habit of doing it somewhere around grad school and now I want to go back to it… I will be trying this since I love bullet journal and this looks so much fun! And who knows, maybe it will give me the push to go back from my reading slump.
Thanks! 😄 At this stage I'm not planning on doing any book summaries or whatnot, so I'm not too sure what it'll look like, but people have such creative layouts for theirs! 💜
Jashii: Let me know if you want... Us collectively: YES!!!! I love all your videos but something like is something that's always be on my list to make. I'm excited to try and give something like this a go in 2024. Especially the rating system!
I adore Steve, what a fun lil fellow. :D Very happy to see a reading journal video from you! Super loving the vintage-y scrapbooky theme you went with, it has such a nice and cozy vibe. I'm also very happy to see you decided to put in a book bingo! I've been enjoying it a lot this year in my own reading journal. 💜 Would definitely be interested of the page ideas you mentioned in the video. Always looking for potential page ideas to put into my own reading journal. Likewise it'd be interesting to see a more detailed explanation of how you use the rating system you chose. I'm very much going with a "how i feel" based system rather than something as organised as this.
This all looks so good! I started a book journal this year, too, but so far it's just kind of a tbr and some printed quotes & fanart of books that I've read 😅😅 I did also get your map (which I LOVE!) & I printed it on kraft paper, then ripped around the edges, so it looks like a 'real' treasure map! The Spine Kraken is my favorite lol
That map is INCREDIBLE!!! You are creative enough for at least six people, and I am envious. In particular the "DNF Plains" just being a vast expanse of boring nothingness had me howling. How do you come up with these things?!?!
I've already set up a large bullet journal for my reading, but i totally didn't plan ahead by making the first few pages a tracker of all the books i've read. if i add it halfway thru the bullet journal now, it'll feel so weird! haha i will definitely be using these layouts for the next round!
Definitely PLEASE make a separate video about the ratings system! Im so glad you introduced it... Ive been looking for a better more thorough way to rate my reads but like Goodreads and other book apps etc are always just 1-5 stars with the option of saying something... I dun always know what to say LOL
The scrapbooking paper was from Spotlight, Kaiser Craft brand 😄 for the rating system, we talked about it in a recent livestream 💪 here's that specific section: th-cam.com/users/liveC_PLaUIUpVM?si=u6-KwhcwMZ43j-mf&t=2490
We've recently explained it in a livestream if that helps 😄 That section of the live is at th-cam.com/users/liveC_PLaUIUpVM?si=u6-KwhcwMZ43j-mf&t=2490 💪💜
I was waiting for this video since you "hinted" at setting-up a ReJo! I've left work about 20 minutes earlier, so that I could see this sooner. I love your interpretation of it.
Ohh, this is gorgeous!! I really, really hope they restock this box. I did click on the notification box, but just saw that you can still subscribe to this box! So credit card is going to be used today!

I'm definitely gonna need a separate video on those page ideas!
Counting the ideas video vote 👏😄
Yes please!! 😍
Yes!!!
@@JashiiCorrin I wholeheartedly agree!
The art is to make your journal so attractive and aesthetically pleasing to you that you can’t help but want to use it to record your reading!
Literally that 💪💜

Defintely a separate video on reading journal ideas!
I best got on to making those then! 😋💪
It's stunning! I have to add some of this ideas in my reading journal 💜
Wow this is so intense for a reading journal! Fiction for me has been more a free style on themes, quotes, learnings and then a general rating.
Thanks! 😄 At this stage I'm not planning on doing any book summaries or whatnot, so I'm not too sure what it'll look like, but people have such creative layouts for theirs! 💜
I love it so much. Please make more in-depth videos on it.
Glad you liked it! 😄💜
The map is EVERYTHING! ❤😮
Thanks! 😄💜 Glad you like it!
Thank you for this! I so need this in my life as I am a Bookworm!!!!
Glad you liked it! 😄💜 I’m like a book grub at the moment, not a big enough reader to make it to the worm stage 😝
Jashii: Let me know if you want...
Us collectively: YES!!!!
I love all your videos but something like is something that's always be on my list to make. I'm excited to try and give something like this a go in 2024. Especially the rating system!
Haha glad there's interest for the other videos 😝💜
Beautiful! I am in awe of your creativity!
Aww thank-you! 🥰
Oh my, that map! Beautiful!
Thanks! 😄💜 it was a lot of fun to make 💪
I adore Steve, what a fun lil fellow. :D
Very happy to see a reading journal video from you! Super loving the vintage-y scrapbooky theme you went with, it has such a nice and cozy vibe. I'm also very happy to see you decided to put in a book bingo! I've been enjoying it a lot this year in my own reading journal. 💜
Would definitely be interested of the page ideas you mentioned in the video. Always looking for potential page ideas to put into my own reading journal. Likewise it'd be interesting to see a more detailed explanation of how you use the rating system you chose. I'm very much going with a "how i feel" based system rather than something as organised as this.
I’ll add your votes to the potential videos 👏 glad to hear there is interest for them 😄💜
Yes tell us about your rating system!
I'll add it to my list! 💪💜
This all looks so good! I started a book journal this year, too, but so far it's just kind of a tbr and some printed quotes & fanart of books that I've read 😅😅
I did also get your map (which I LOVE!) & I printed it on kraft paper, then ripped around the edges, so it looks like a 'real' treasure map! The Spine Kraken is my favorite lol
Love that you printed it on Kraft paper, that’s excellent 😄💜 I hope you love it!
That map is INCREDIBLE!!! You are creative enough for at least six people, and I am envious. In particular the "DNF Plains" just being a vast expanse of boring nothingness had me howling. How do you come up with these things?!?!
Glad you liked it! The map places and getting them to fit with the general meaning and "place type" was something that took a while 😝
I've already set up a large bullet journal for my reading, but i totally didn't plan ahead by making the first few pages a tracker of all the books i've read. if i add it halfway thru the bullet journal now, it'll feel so weird! haha i will definitely be using these layouts for the next round!
I completely understand that feeling 😝 This one had a ~lot~ of forethought cause I mean to keep it for quite a while 💪
I would love to purchase a copy of that gorgeous fantasy map! Do you sell to the US?
It's a printable on my shop (digital download) so anyone can buy 😄 jashii.com/products/reading-fantasy-map
Such a beautiful setup and so inspiring - might be stealing a few of these ideas for next years reading journal
Thanks! 😄💜 glad it gave you some ideas 🥳
Yay printable map!!! You’re the best!
Haha thanks! 😄💜
Please tell me about how you did ratings, etc. Thanks!
We've recently explained it in a livestream if that helps 😄 That section of the live is at th-cam.com/users/liveC_PLaUIUpVM?si=u6-KwhcwMZ43j-mf&t=2490 💪💜
just stumbled upon your channel!! loved how you explained everything you did
Thanks! 😄 glad the ~algorithm~ bought you this way! 💜
I was waiting for this video since you "hinted" at setting-up a ReJo! I've left work about 20 minutes earlier, so that I could see this sooner. I love your interpretation of it.
Haha aww that’s awesome! 💜 Glad you liked it! 😄
Ohh, this is gorgeous!! I really, really hope they restock this box. I did click on the notification box, but just saw that you can still subscribe to this box! So credit card is going to be used today!
That box should be open for new subs now, and last I checked it's still available 😄💜 Glad you liked this one! 🥳
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 I am so scared to start a reading journal because I just use a a4 notebook at the moment but I love this so much and the map 😍😍😍😍😍!!!
Thanks! I wanted it to be a creating setup space, but an easy fill in space 😝
@@JashiiCorrin(also any point in the video where you’re like if you’d like to see a video please let me know - yes) 😂😂😂
