As someone who does speak Japanese, the kanji in it makes complete sense. The problem is the fire cover is using the fire Kanji 火 and ice is using katakana アイスinstead of 氷. They would be consistent and use Kanji for Both.
I think the person who Scott mentioned just meant japanese text by "kanji". Also, the kanji used for fire is wrong; it's actually the chinese hanzi for it. The japanese form has the left stroke turned left, while the chinese one has it turned right.

It’s a shame echoes did poorly sales wise, the game was really well done IMO with amazing presentation, and I like how it stays mostly faithful to the original even though the gameplay does suffer for this at times. I hope they aren’t discouraged from doing additional remakes like this, idk if any of the FE remakes have sold well

I bought the second circle pad attachment to play Kingdom Hearts on my 3DS, but honestly I just love the add on in general. It makes the 3DS feel more like a controller and my fat hands appreciate the lack of cramping in provides.

I recently picked up my 3DS again after years of it sitting in a drawer, and holy cow I'm shocked how much I love this system, despite it's quirks (smaller New 3DS system).
I bought a 3DS just last year since my parents never bought one for me despite how much I wanted one after seeing my brother's friend have a DS. When I brought it up again last year they told me to buy one with my own money, so I did and I love it, even thought the top screen is a bit wobbly and it has scratches all over it from the previous owner(s).
Just more incentive to hop onto the custom firmware bandwagon and get more life out of your unsupported console! Atleast the community will support you when the company won't.

I owned a 3ds and I loved it as a kid! So many special memories with that system, especially since the camera on the 3ds was the only camera I had and I used it all the time. In addition, I loved making sounds with the sounds app and, of course, I LOVED all the 3DS and DS games. When I first got my switch, I had that same feeling and it was incredible! Love you Nintendo!

I bought the second circle pad attachment to play Kingdom Hearts on my 3DS, but honestly I just love the add on in general. It makes the 3DS feel more like a controller and my fat hands appreciate the lack of cramping in provides.

the 3ds is my favourite nintendo system, while the switch is great for the msot part, I will always prefer the 3ds for its library, for the big selection of retro tittles from many different consoles and simply for its slick design

I recently picked up my 3DS again after years of it sitting in a drawer, and holy cow I'm shocked how much I love this system, despite it's quirks (smaller New 3DS system).
I bought a 3DS just last year since my parents never bought one for me despite how much I wanted one after seeing my brother's friend have a DS. When I brought it up again last year they told me to buy one with my own money, so I did and I love it, even thought the top screen is a bit wobbly and it has scratches all over it from the previous owner(s).
I know I’m kinda young but the 3ds started off gaming for me and it is sad to hear they stopped first party support 😪

I owned a 3ds and I loved it as a kid! So many special memories with that system, especially since the camera on the 3ds was the only camera I had and I used it all the time. In addition, I loved making sounds with the sounds app and, of course, I LOVED all the 3DS and DS games. When I first got my switch, I had that same feeling and it was incredible! Love you Nintendo!

while that is true that 800k copies isn't the worst thing in the world, it's also been a discussed issue on what Echoes's actual sale were, because while you were right that VG Chartz has recorded Echoes at about 750,000 sales (their charts do include digital so it would be closer to 750k, not 850k) other sites have recorded the worldwide sales as low as 215k. I even cross checked the other fire emblem 3ds games and those all matched while Echoes was very inaccurate between both sites.
regardless, when you know that Awakening sold 2,280,000 copies worldwide, Fates sold 2,940,000 copies worldwide, 3 houses sold 2,580,000 copies worldwide, and even the side game Fire Emblem Warriors sold 1,000,000 copies worldwide, then 215k or even 750k look pretty bad for a mainline game. now I know that 750k units would likely make back the cost of the game and then some, to have a gold streak like that, and then have a mainline game dip under 1 million units is pretty bad comparatively.
mind you, I'm a big fire emblem fan (Echoes included) and I really wish nothing but the best for the series, but I also create games and study analytics a lot too, which is why I spent probably too much time on this reply, and because if the game really only sold 215k copies worldwide, then it would make it the 4th lowest selling fire emblem game there is (right above Radiant Dawn, Thracia 776, and Path of Radiance).

8:26 I do remember "Spider-Man: Edge of Time" being released on the 3DS. Sure the graphics were much worse, but just the fact that a console title got a release on handheld without it being a completely different version is amazing to me.

This was a great breakdown! You/he woulda had to do mad research, digging through old forums, cringing at rumours that didn't age well. The whole DS family was and is fantastic with great games and experiences. I've had a black DS lite, a blue DSi, a purple 3ds, a red new nintendo 3ds XL, and a pokeball new nintendo 2ds xl...Ya i have a lot of DS's XD. A shame they won't be doing too much for them now, but the Switch has been pretty damn nice.
Also, FE Echoes never deserved to flop, I liked it. Go play it.
