- In today's video, I go through and finish up with completing the final 3 side quests that I haven't done yet in the elder scrolls IV: Oblivion. The three side quests are Go Fish, involving a fisherman needing some help collecting Rumare Slaughterfish scales. The next one is a Venerable Vintage, which involves retriebing rare wine called, Shadowbanish, for the proprietor of an Inn. The lastly, I buy a house in every major city and completely furnish them! Don't forget to like, comment and subscribe!

Fishing everywhere: "Pack your fishing rod, some bait and some beers and have a chill day"
Fishing in Oblivion: "Jump into the Water and defeat marine life in melee combat"
"Don't laugh. It's a bunch of damn fish." I dunno why, but the delivery of this is so funny and on point. Ralph Cosham, you will be dearly missed.
Man... the nostalgia. I believe Go fish was the first ever sidequest I did in my first play through, I remember struggling so hard killing those slaughter fish... truly one of those good memories hahaha :)
No TH-camr comes close to you when it comes to commentary gameplay, i played all your videos on loop , its relaxing and entertaining to watch , the edit and shots itself is amazing and well executed, Thank YOU
This is so true. I’ve got a bit of a different perspective of his videos. I work a ton and can’t watch a majority of the video visually, but the way he explains each step it’s like I’m there watching along at every step. Keep up the amazing quality as people truly benefit from the way you make your videos. 😊
Dark Lore Dash does similar videos
I love how I literally recommended this guy yesterday, as the first commenter, and TH-cam deleted my literal benign, non-offensive comment what the heck? 😅 @@Generic42
Dark lore dash’s voice is kinda crazy though- bard’s voice is a lot more soothing
yeah for real, this guy is making want to crack open Oblivion again, I game I haven't played since 2008.
*sees 23 gold in his house*
*has over 100k gold*
Takes it anyway.
Hey, he built that 100k the same way haha
The poor man wonders why he is poor. The rich man knows why he is rich.
- Tenpenny
thats 1 million not 100 thousand
I found that water breathing ring really useful for a character where magic was not my focus, especially during the Knights of Nine DLC.
I did the Go Fish quest and did the same thing to open his chest. I felt terrible for it and decided to shove a good 30,000 gold worth of gold nuggets, around 1200 nuggets in total, and another 20,000 worth of flawless diamonds so about 200 of em. Gave that man a good retirement
On top of that wealthy lump of money I used a bug to summon a Daedroth permanently and have it guard him. I don’t regret the time it took to do this, dude deserves some happy ending
Just how Unfinished Bsiness is your first quest in a playthrough, Go Fish is mine! Can forever breath underwater lol
Mannn that Shadowbanish Wine quest took me forever. I got it early in a recent playthrough, so it ended up being a "collect them as you go" ordeal, in your words. I was so ecstatic when I got the final bottle.
I’ve been watching your morrowind play through and man you are just the best ES TH-camr.
However nothing beats you covering oblivion imo.
Wish we could all experience it again for the first time, and experience the oblivion play through from you as well.
Despite all of the large mansions buyable in these games I always end up living in the quaint homes, the Waterfront Shack, Breezehome in Whiterun and of course Caius Cosades' House
I mean I know breeze home is one of the cheapest houses in skyrim, but it's actually quite luxurious. Especially if you compare it to the waterfront district 😂
The Waterfront is under the personal protection of the Gray Fox!
Ayy! Always glad to see a little more oblivion content😎. Even better to see some I'd never knew of. Go Fish was completely new to me, I get the feeling I may have had a similar Beached Fish incident. That ring could definitely be useful during some points in this game lol. I did know about the Shadowbanish wine, and that was a really interesting quest. The brewer was likely also an alchemist. After the quest, as you mentioned, they'll also start spawning in dungeon containers, so they aren't finite, and also they're nice if you need nighteye, although plenty in Oblivion offers that effect.
I did buy a house, in every city available, and I believe they did end up nice looking. Skingrad is my favorite.
The Go Fish quest was one of the first quests I ever started. I was terrified of the Slaughterfish as a kid lol
A good tip for the fish scale quest is to use the detect life spell to find them easier.
I definitely remember the wine one, I had that always in my log book during my original playthrough. And for me, the house I chose was the one in Anvil, I loved the idea of a seaside manor. It was nice, no regrets.
Its weird, but buying the waterfront shack is one of the first quests I do. Its a great place to sit around and practice skills.
The first quest on this video was my first Oblivion beginner's trap. I was new to the Elder Scroll game, so when I tried to kill the slaughter fish. It took sooo long to get all the scales
8/10 would kill the guy again if I play a new run
The fishing sidequest is usually the first thing I do after escaping from the sewers. Mainly because its one of the first enchanted items I can get to duplicate for gold lol.
Oh that fisher, makes more money since he locked up his treasures than he did before.
I always do Go Fish as soon as I leave the sewers, because the Jewel of Rumare is a must have for anyone not playing an Argonian.
Honestly an incredibly useful ring. That poor Mage's Guild recruit in Cheydinhal needed that, eh? RIP
There are other races to play as?
@@karmi5571 Yeah, there are 10 total. 4 humans: Imperials, Breton, Nords, and Redguard, 3 elves: High Elves, Dark Elves, and Wood Elves, and 3 beast races: Argonians, Khaijit, and Orcs. Most of them are pretty self explanatory, but Argonians and Khaijit stand out the most. Argonians are amphibious lizard people who are highly resistant to poison and disease, and Khaijit are cat-like people who can see better in the dark.
@@RubyH4rtTechnically Orcs are Mer (Elves) as well
Fin Gleam is also good for that.
As always bard great work, i am in awe for your dedication and work, no Words can describe well enough your mastery of this content type. Its just so good!
There's a little secret in the Skingrad house if you buy and furnish it
You can climb onto a hiden compartment and find a note with a riddle.
Once you do this you can find treasure hidden in a hourglasses tucked away in the basement
Nice little touch
I can't imagine not buying the haunted house. So cheap and its actually a mansion. Just so far away. Although my favo is the bruma house, its pretty cozy
I laughed at fish man and then killed him in his sleep! That’s the real canon story
Go fish was the first quest I stumbled on at the beginning of the game, and Shadow Banish wine maybe the second or third, but I didn't complete either until the very end of the game!
I think I tried the fish quest once and decided never again before I got my second scale.
if u do want to try again, items or spells with detect life and water walking helps..
The Fishing QUest is broken in the German Dub. The Line does not play and only appears on Screen for a single Frame, after which you are confronted with the No-Context Choice that may lock you out from this Quest forever.
A Workaround to the "No Fish" Bug is to leave, let Time pass, and return once the Cell reset so the Fish would then hopefully spawn at the correct Location.
I know it was expensive but damn, my skingrad house always felt so homey and cosy. I always had to buy it and add all my unique items on display 😄
I always grab the one in Anvil. It's really cheap and the quest is really fun.
I think Go Fish was the first quest I ever started, nearly 20 years ago.
The go fish guy has the rare zero-weight Beggar's Shirt in his house. One of only two in the game. It looks a bit like a short dress on a female character and goes well with a hood. One of my favorite clothing items in the game.
So many people spending an hour hunting fish… to get a ring they will use for 3 minutes.
I knew about shadowbanish wine since my first playthrough. I always had like 12 by the end, but never knew what to do with it
Just go to the ruins where the bitterfish goblins are and you can get enough scales to hand over to the man for the ring.
I do the fishing quest every time to get the ring quickly. Makes the game much easier
A bard upload while I’m at work?! Here comes the “Hey Manager, can I use the bathroom please? My stomach hurts” question hahaha😭😭😭
Asking for permission to go to the toilet 😂 Just quit 😂
I do the fishing and wine side quest when I played it in Xbox 360 in 2009
yippie more oblivion!
I did Aelwins quest right after leaving the sewer my first playthrough
I think the coins he had included your bribes
The fisherman's quest is usually one of the first quests I do. So I don't have to waste time on water breathing spells, potions, or enchantment
I'd just pickpocket the key, dump a load of gold in the chest and reverse pickpocket it back.
Rosethorn Hall is very lovely, but I've always thought the house in Cheydinhal was criminally underrated. Quaint and not too big but also decently lavish? I also enjoy the second story of it a lot
I think Go Fish was the first side quest I ever did, I don't know if I've ever done it again though. I forgot about the usefulness of that ring.
detect life helps when doing the Go Fish quest.
I need them right away.
Sure, about that. It’ll happen when I get around to it.
This quest was so bugged for me in that I didn’t get the compass marker updates that it took me in-game months. Or maybe they didn’t spawn in like yours.
If I remember correctly, the chest with the gold savings is bugged. it was supposed to have 500 gold in it.
Huh, I was working in Blender with this video on background, and just as it was ending, my laptop crashed
Why did the writers even add in the option to ask Aelwin where his savings are? Did they want us steal from him? Did they want to test players to see what they do?
How do you feel about branching out to oblivion quest mods? Im sure there are some high quality ones out there. I bet you could even extract some great comedic moments out of wacky or broken quests on the nexus. Id sure love to see it!
Why did Aelwin pay to have the chest enchanted so that only one key would open it? Wouldn't he be able to buy a regular chest with only one key that would open it? And we didn't have the technology to duplicate keys during this era, did we?
As ever, great work bard.
Might I suggest thing to do for dun in oblivion when the quests are done?
1 Floor is lava: Cyrodill edition
Use whatever you'd like but you can only step/jump on stone or roofs. See how far you can go
2 physics races
Dropping items down a cliff or hill to race
3 ghost town
Reverse pickpocket chameleon gear for every npc
16:50. Wait, is Bruma 7k or 19k???
Fuck is a plugin? You mean an expansion pack? Thats what we used to call em 😂
yay:)
Dude. Detect life!
You've betrayed Morrowind, the Dunmer people, and the three Ancestor Daedra by posting this in the middle of your Morrowind playthrough!
You must repent to Azura and resume your Path of Destiny as the Nerevarine...
Bbbbbard te amo mucho agghh
some quests you can't do because of a programming error involving the AI system the game has. Big Head for an example could die
poor big head
That happened to me; I spoke to him, got the quest, turned away to do something else, then all of a sudden he was fighting with the Aureals…
Go fish used to be busted. There used to be multiple thousands of gold in his retirement chest, I think over 10k. I distinctly remember doing it on the Xbox 360 version before I had Xbox Live, so my copy couldn't be patched - but the UESP says a max of 500 was only supposed to spawn in there. Odd.
