I dont work for of use doordash, but i love your content. Its nice to see people help others to succeed, even when it could potentially hurt there bottom line. You should really do a video showing the costs of dashing, and how to minimize them. Every video on doordash is about how much they made, but no one ever talks about how much they spent to make that amount.
It averages out to be the same or less than pay by order. Doordash isn't trying to come up with ways to pay you more. They are trying to come up with ways to pay you less or the same and get more orders delivered
@@DistroyeRD Typically what happens is they send you shitty non tippers, depend on how fast you drive you get either close orders in zone in succession or far out. I dash mostly in Flowery Branch and Gainesville Georgia. I've never tried the earn by time option. I usually see offers of $15-$17 but late last night around 11pm on a Wednesday night, they were offering me $21 per hour. I was tempted to try it out but I had already been delivering all day and I was really tired. So now I'm watching videos to see what other people say about it.
I’m in Charlotte, NC as well. As we know the pay by time rate is $15 per hour. I have always did pay by order, never pay by time. Everytime I do the numbers, my averages are always $15 per hour, give or take. When I see an order has no tip, instant decline. It’s like this, if a customer can’t or won’t take care of the driver, they shouldn’t be ordering delivery. No tip, no trip! And if you cant afford it, don’t order it! Going the kitchen and make a sandwich.
I am a new driver, so I'm pretty much forced to do drive by time. If I do the drive by order, they keep sending me all of these $3 or $4 orders. I will say that the drive-by time does keep me consistently busy. There are a few times I was very annoyed with it, though. They would send me far away from my delivery zone. They sent me 12 miles away to a neighboring town to delivery a Taco Bell crunch wrap. Your thinking, So what's the problem? You're paid by time? True, but once that delivery is over, they aren't paying you to head back to your zone. They also aren't paying you for other orders that you could've missed out on because you are out of your zone. I'm super annoyed by that, but mostly, it's been a pretty good experience. I almost forgot to include that most of the time, the rate I'm noticing is $13.25. However, late evenings are up to $16.25 at its peak.
I'm in East Liverpool, Ohio. Our pay per hour is $14.50 and hour. We are a rural area and for me the pay per hour gives me further mile trips with little or no tip.
Me too! I don't get any of my short, quick orders when I dash per hour, and my acceptance rate dropped. I also noticed that when I compare 2 weeks, where I've made $500. One was done entirely on pay by the hour. The other one was done entirely with pay by order. When comparing the two, on the pay by hour week, my doordash contribution almost tripled what I made in tips. On my pay per order weeks, my tips almost tripled what I was paid by Door Dash. I'm curious as to how this is going to work out in our tax implications at the end of the year. Just a thought.

Tips add up fast, I do not want them using most of my tips to pay me hourly, that means they keep the excess most of the time. I’m in Norman, Ok and it’s $13 an hour. I’m a little frustrated this evening. I felt like the entire shift they kept throwing me orders with no tips as long as they were meeting the “guarantee”. It was also very slow tonight.
The policy on declining while on “Earn By Time” became a deal breaker for me. I live in a military town. Military base deliveries REQUIRE a Base Access Pass. I tried to get a pass but could not. You need to a “sponsor” or be a member of the military. DoorDash does not have a contract with the Military. So I end up declining between 1 & 5 orders every shift simply because I cannot get to the delivery location. This is one issue I wish DD would fix. It affects my acceptance rate and income and it is through no fault of my own. It’s frustrating too, because Ian forced to take those 12 mile deliveries for $5 because I MUST save the declines for the military deliveries.
Communication is key with military personnel. They will have to meet up at the front gate. What was instructed to me from support is the time you wait on the customer and no response you have the option to leave the order without being affected and still get the pay without your rating being affected.
A lot of times plan ahead and go to the visitor center to get a two to three pass to have access on base. I am prior military. You have to show proof of insurance and have a Driver license along with statement of business purpose.

Kentucky just came back not doing it professionally anymore. 10.50. May try it when I dash now as my zone is rural and some deliveries even with good tips are 30 min to do one delivery
I'm in Burlington Iowa and it was as high as $18 an hour, now it is $15 an hour. Blows my mind how many people from much larger markets are being offered so much less then a small town in Iowa lol. That said I never use it because I try to get as many shopping orders as I can so I put as few miles on my car as possible
I do … Kissimmee fl 12.75. Here’s how you do the math.. if your avg payout from door dash on earn by order is let’s say 3.00 take your earn by time and divide it by 60 (60min in an hr) this tells you what they are paying per min. So I will do mine for the example. 12.75 / 60 is roughly .22 cents a min. The avg pay per order is 3-4 dollars . So to make 4 dollar on per time. Divide 4 by .22 that’s 18 mins. If you have a lot of slow restaurants or long distances or heavy traffic to cover .. you could make more .
I do door dash on a regular bike and sometimes it does take me a little longer to get to the customer. Earning by time makes that bike ride worth it especially if I receive tip.
Buford Ga, that's about 30 minutes to an hour, depending on traffic from ATL. I'm kinda in the middle of 2 sections. Where I usually dash it is as 16 but the my other section that is next to me is at 17.
Habersham County, NE Ga. $10 earn by time. I have tried a few times and it sucked but watching your video i know now not to rush to pick up the order once i accept it. McDonalds is slooow so i see now what i am going to try.
Hourly rates range from $14 - 18 is what I've seen. The area is Reno, NV and I never see hourly in surrounding areas of Carson City , Fernley and Fallon NV
Currently getting $14.50 in md, almost the only way I dash, as almost no one tips here and by getting paid for my time it means that most deliveries are close $5-8 and I love getting the 10+mile ones almost always get about $14-25 for those and that's with out tips. And it's great when the restaurant makes me wait...( I don't like waiting, really, but hay, I'm getting paid for it), and tho peek pay hardly ever happens when it does its not a +1 per delivery, peek pay is now +1 per hr, so I would get $15.50 per hr with +$1 peek pay
Yes we have earn by time in rock Hill South Carolina. The pay is $14 active hour. But in the late evening it seems to always go to $20 plus active hour
I get $14.75 per hour. But it isn’t really that, because we don’t deliver the whole 60 min. Plus my question is how about the acceptance rate? How does it work? Do you still get to raise your acceptance rate?
I did E.B.T the Monday night (Greensboro,NC - $14.25/hr). I lucked out and made $46 in 1 hour and 26 mins. So, I did it again the next day. I made $10.97 in 1hr and 36 mins. 🤦🏾♀️

I am in Oklahoma City and the Guaranteed Rate it's $13 per hour. My only issue is pay on orders that were canceled by the customer. Last weekend I spent 58 minutes in line at the drive-thru at a McDonald's. Customer got tired of waiting, and canceled the order. I was paid absolutely positively nothing. When I called after support regarding this, I was told that on earned by time I am not eligible for pay on canceled orders. I have sent an email to Dasher support, and they have told me they will investigate the issue.
If the only item I had for an order was out of stock and I just wasted 20 minutes on an EBT dash, is there no way to get compensated? Customer asked me to cancel and I'm a noob so I did, not sure if that matters as they had the refund option processed already.
Im not sure if I was doing it right, I had an order $7.50 and $7.50 is all I received for one hour !!!! Im in Toledo and my pay by hour is now $ 11.00. I think Ill try it again because every order now has me waiting from 7-15 minutes before its done👎🏿
I dash in Woodstock Georgia ($16.50/Hr) and no one really tips above $5 so I’d rather take the guaranteed pay and I usually can get $8-$13 each delivery depending on how far it is

@@shaylastubbs7370 I tried that. I was told that they do not extend passes to civilians or delivery drivers for DoorDash. If you have prior military service, that’s probably why. I do not.
@@debbieburrington3816 where at you located? If it’s a training base yes that would be a issue. They will have to meet you at the gate due to safety concerns.
Hey Bently, thank you for all these videos helps newbies out in 2024. Earn by time offered in Racine at 13.50 per active hour
$14.50/ hour for Watertown ny zone $21.50 for fort drum ny Zone 8am to 8 pm active time only
Cheyenne, WY, earn by time is only available (generally) after 10pm. $13.25 per hour.
Nope that ain’t for me
This is the worst thing doordash has ever done they finally figured out how to get no tip orders delivered less than minimum wage after expenses driving your own car such a pathetic f****** company
$14.75 in Surprise, AZ....did earn by time for the first time tonight. I completed all orders before the hour. My total time was 3 hours and 13 minutes but active time was 2 hours and 19 minutes. Made $56....waiting for my next shift
1:05 In my market it’s $11.50 I’m in Texarkana AR
I tried in my area, fairly large market, boise, got nothing but crap orders with no tips, under 15.00 an hour for 4 hours. But I'll see what ya got to say. I,ve used alot of your info the last 6,000 deliveries. Rate here in idaho is $12.50.
Hi! I am in St Louis and am going to start Door Dashing in a little over a week. I believe earn by time is $14.00/hr here.
I like earn by time but not being able to decline more orders is a dealbreaker. I live in Vancouver, WA and often get orders across the river into Portland, OR. I don’t want to leave zones and drive way farther into the city for orders, so I gotta decline them
Hey vancouver wa!! Same here lol. Dashing in pdx I'd Terrible because all the zones. To easy to get dragged into of one and having to dead Mike drive back
FYI if your dashing and don't have ride share insurance on your policy you are not covered your vehicle or the other persons so people check your insurance policy see if you have a exclusion on it about non coverage while signed into the dd app.😮
Longview wa $16.25/active hour. Used to be $15.75/active hour. Until gov raise minimum wage to $15.74/hour. Once that hit shortly after it got bumped up to the $16.25
Kentucky just came back not doing it professionally anymore.
In the Petersburg/Colonial Heights, Va area the hourly rate for earn by times is $15
I do … Kissimmee fl 12.75.
Charlotte is now $13.75 so it's good to see it's still going up
I just started one. Its $18.39. Super small town in eastern Wa. Fingers crossed...
In Cincinnati market earn by time is $11/hr
I'm in Madison Wisconsin & $11 is our pay per hr.
Nope I’m not working by the hour driving more miles I’d feel I’d have no control of declining !
I used to live in Sugar Hill. That’s definitely a long stretch. I miss it, I know they have built so much there by now.
$13/hr Gainesville, FL
Habersham County, NE Ga. $10 earn by time. I have tried a few times and it sucked but watching your video i know now not to rush to pick up the order once i accept it. McDonalds is slooow so i see now what i am going to try.
Hey Bentley, I am new to the Goldsboro NC area. I did DoorDash in Virginia Beach and it was pretty good. Do you have any knowledge of Goldsboro NC?
Adding to my earlier comment for a Reno Nevada area and surrounding, I used to make more on hourly and now it just seems to be garbage
Hourly rates range from $14 - 18 is what I've seen. The area is Reno, NV and I never see hourly in surrounding areas of Carson City , Fernley and Fallon NV
16.75 in Griffin, Ga. You made some very good points.
Currently getting $14.50 in md, almost the only way I dash, as almost no one tips here and by getting paid for my time it means that most deliveries are close $5-8 and I love getting the 10+mile ones almost always get about $14-25 for those and that's with out tips. And it's great when the restaurant makes me wait...( I don't like waiting, really, but hay, I'm getting paid for it), and tho peek pay hardly ever happens when it does its not a +1 per delivery, peek pay is now +1 per hr, so I would get $15.50 per hr with +$1 peek pay
where in md?
I try to earn by time get it for quite a while but I went back to earn by order I think it pays better That's been my experience anyway
I'm in longview tx and my earn by time rate is 13.75 I tried it today took 2 orders 1 hour and 7 min active time and made 28 dollars
$17/ hour today. When it started it was $13. I'll keep an eye on it but the original way combined with multi-apping is paying $30-45/hour
14.25 an hour in detroit metro. 1-2 extra per hour for promos. It pays more per hour due to long wait times at restaurants plus traffic.
Yes. 12.50 in SC. Lexington
Yes we have earn by time in rock Hill South Carolina. The pay is $14 active hour. But in the late evening it seems to always go to $20 plus active hour
Hello! I dash in St. Louis MO and our hourly rate is $13/hr
I'm in Jonesboro AR it's 13 hr I dash mostly thru the week n weekends seem to more busy in mi area as well as Lunch n dinner most days.
Paragould
I get $14.75 per hour. But it isn’t really that, because we don’t deliver the whole 60 min. Plus my question is how about the acceptance rate? How does it work? Do you still get to raise your acceptance rate?
Novi, Michigan. $16.00 per hour. If I go to Detroit it drops to $13.00.
I did E.B.T the Monday night (Greensboro,NC - $14.25/hr). I lucked out and made $46 in 1 hour and 26 mins. So, I did it again the next day. I made $10.97 in 1hr and 36 mins. 🤦🏾♀️
Holly springs MS. 10.50 hr. 14 miles away Olive branch MS $13.50 hr.
Hey Bentley. I’m just starting. I’m in Thomasville NC. Love your videos. Thank u so much. Was wanting to text u a screenshot of something I took. But didn’t have your number or know how to do it on TH-cam. Here in Thomasville it says earn by time is $ 12.51. Just saw this last night. Didn’t know what it meant. Also I try scheduling 3 and 4 days out. But it doesn’t show anything available
11.25 in Louisville Kentucky
I tried it once for an hour and only got two orders because I waited at McDonald’s for 42 min but made $30 just off that hr so I liked it. The next day same thing but only 3 orders in an hr and barely made $10 with no earn by time pay
Does the customer know which option you have chosen on this current dash ?
Nope
I’m in Dayton Ohio/Cincinnati in Dayton pay by hour is 15.50 idk about Cincinnati when ever I go down to Cincinnati it’s on the weekend so I go by order cause I feel like I can make more
I made $21 an hour on a regular mountain bike here in NYC. Ima upgrade to a e-moped! I will say I benefit off of a high market for sure
And great exercise too!
If they paid us for the entire hour it might be worth it, otherwise at 13.75 plus tips I was making less than normal because every minute matters.
When did you start riding a bike?
Houston Tx. Our hourly rate is 11.25 also
I love earned by time now the hourly they give me is 1275 an hour but that’s in Florida in parts but I’m gonna tell you it’s a hell of a lot better especially when they tip I can make about $30 an hour
On something like that, ask to speak to a supervisor when you call. They are the only ones that can give out payment you should have gotten
Pageland SC it’s a small town so they don’t offer earn by time yet. I used to Dash in Lancaster SC they offered earn by time.
I love your content bro keep up the good work.
I noticed it’s $20 in BC. I did 10 hours, and got 290
That's CAD though so it makes sense. It's $19.50 in Winnipeg
It’s only $11.25 in my area 😢
UPDATE!!! I made Top Dasher, I think mine is 25-28$ per hour O. Sweet me Die!
I live outside Orlando and the hourly pay is usually $13 an hour
Sacramento California does not have this in our market.
If the only item I had for an order was out of stock and I just wasted 20 minutes on an EBT dash, is there no way to get compensated? Customer asked me to cancel and I'm a noob so I did, not sure if that matters as they had the refund option processed already.
Ames, IA is $16/hr. I only use it on down times. Tend to make more with earn by order.
I don’t believe we have the earn by the hour option. We do in a city nearby but not here in Dowagiac, Michigan
Im not sure if I was doing it right, I had an order $7.50 and $7.50 is all I received for one hour !!!! Im in Toledo and my pay by hour is now $ 11.00. I think Ill try it again because every order now has me waiting from 7-15 minutes before its done👎🏿
I dash in Woodstock Georgia ($16.50/Hr) and no one really tips above $5 so I’d rather take the guaranteed pay and I usually can get $8-$13 each delivery depending on how far it is
In St. Louis it's 16.50 per hr...with bonus I saw as high as 22.50 per hr after 5pm.
I'm in Knoxville, TN and hourly is $10.25.
Thanks for all the info and help. I really appreciate it. Good luck and God bless.❤
Gainesville fl area and 13 I’ve tried it a few times
Just started! Hawaii island and 14.25 per hour
Earn by time just started in my area in southern Indiana near Louisville... $13.25/hr.
Ok so the fact that wages in Columbus Ohio is around $12 and hour. However with DoorDash, they use our cars, gas and time and give us little back. It’s almost not worth it.
