Thank you for posting this video. i was having trouble with my machine, which is the same model as the one shown. I did not know that the presser foot must be up so that the tension discs will rattle before threading into the tension discs. The owner's manual does not mention this guidance.

No, I have found it’s hard to determine what year most sewing machines were made.
This singer model was made between 1985 and 1989.
