I just found one of these abandoned on the street so I took it home to see if I could fix it. When you showed that the needle plate was magnetic I took it off and revealed 30yrs worth of gunk 😆 Good to know it can come off else that stuff would have been there for a long time to come
this is helpful, thanks. i have a model that i guess is similar - model 1244180. i am new to all of this, i just want to remove the bagginess in some of my shirts and pants - sewing looks awfully difficult, so many controls, knobs, levers. but i'll start with your videos - thanks
I got this machine for doing a leathers wallet, and when use on piece, leathers go well .I tried at two-piece leathers and would not go forward .There is a setting for tension on the foot, and yes, I need to buy foot made Teflon or a roller foot .the question is, is the tension on the foot where it is?my father was a taylor he did see Walter Payton to fix his pants .
I no longer have this machine and I have never tried to sew leather. I wouldn’t think this machine is suitable for sewing leather but I could be wrong. I’m not sure what you mean by tension on the foot. I recommend looking through the manual for this machine. Sorry I could not help you.
Hi 😊I’m new to sewing! A lady gave me a Singer 6215c and I was curious if you could tell me how the thread tension dial is supposed to be set? I have watched several videos but none of the machines was exactly like mine. The screw that held it in the machine came loose. Something seems off now since I put it back in
I’m not sure. I suggest searching TH-cam for “Singer 6215c tension issue” to see if you find anyone that explains how to fix the tension knob. Sorry I couldn’t be more help.
Can you tell me how to remove the tension assembly knob the very outer cover does not have a set screw and I need to get to the tension discs that are very rusty

My machine squeaks when I turn the hand wheel. Is this normal? I recently had it serviced at a certified technician's repair shop, so it should be okay as for lubrication and been cleaned.
I do not believe that the hand wheel squeaking is normal as the handwheel on this machine did not squeak. However, I am not a professional sewing machine repairman. I recommend asking the person that recently serviced it to take another look at it. Sorry I can't be more helpful.
I recommend trying to adjust the tension to see if that helps. Your manual should explain how to do that. There are also likely TH-cam videos that help explain how to do that.
just purchased this at goodwill for 7.99! thank you for making this video and passing on valuable knowledge that will benefit so many!❤
Thank you so much for the explaining this! Beginner here. Your tutorial has helped me very much.

It seems a lot of people don’t know how easy it is to clean under the needle plate. So glad you found my video helpful!

I hope you found another video. That is beyond my abilities but I have found videos on TH-cam before that show how to do that.
Hi Nicki, does this machine had a speed control on the panel on the right? Thank you.
I’m not sure. I no longer have this machine to look into it. Sorry.
Do you know please how can I buy some parts for this machine ❤️
