These videos are very insightful, thank you! Also, I think step two is missing?
Nvm found your link!
just purchased this at goodwill for 7.99! thank you for making this video and passing on valuable knowledge that will benefit so many!❤
Hey, great video! Just started sewing and the pattern dial doesnt change when i turn it. Any ideas what i should do?
Has it been cleaned recently? It could be that it has gotten gummed up and needs a professional cleaning. Sorry that I don’t have a DIY answer for you but these machines are hard to get into to clean them yourself.
En español porfavor
Wow. I was doing all sorts of stuff, but would have never Ina million years guessed that. THANK YOU!!!! 😅
I thought the bobbins in those days were metal, class 15, not plastic bobbins?
Got one for sale uk
Thank you for your detailed explanation. As a biginner and Without instruction book, I had no idea how to start.
Is there a part 2? I can’t seem to find out how to thread the top thread
Here is the link to the entire playlist: Brother VX-808 th-cam.com/play/PLaNUBidt7VJtWB5TZOKg2xqd1UqzJttcJ.html
Thanks for your video.
Wow. Seriously thank you so much! One of my regrets is never learning sewing from my mom. I just bought this machine off marketplace and youve been extremely helpful!!
Thank you so much for the videos. I recently inherited my mother-in-law’s machine. She passed away several years ago. I’m just now getting it out to use and had no idea where to begin. I appreciate your help. Thanks again.
Tyvm!
Thanks so much for this intro series for this Singer model! You helped me a lot - used to have a different machine and bobbin case so wasn't familiar with this horizontal one. Watching this helped me solve the slight mess I was creating on the backside of my project; the thread wasn't going through those little notches. Excellently clear and well videoed instructions!
Glad I could help!
I took a close look at my mother’s brother VX-808 sewing machine. The hand wheel has a screw in it. So it doesn’t loosen or tighten. I think you’re supposed to refill the bobbin manually by using the hand wheel to get the level up. Then you pull the thread out of the tension and do it manually.
You should not have to refill the bobbin manually.
Can you tell me more about the tension and the length dial. Specifically about the reverse. Is that for the stitch on the inside of the fabric? Like if you’re mending a hem. One side of the fabric is outside and the other side is inside. Is the reverse for the inside stitching?
I no longer have this sewing machine so I can’t do another video. I can say that the reverse simply makes the sewing machine sew backwards. So, instead of the fabric feeding toward the back of the machine, it starts feeding toward you. You are always stitching on both sides of the fabric regardless of whether you are sewing forward or backwards.
Is the 6 or 9 facing you or the bobbin casing?
The 6 or 9 would be facing you when you place it inside the bobbin casing (you would be looking at the back of the bobbin casing).
I think I got it wrong. I was doing it 6 or 9 facing me. I should have done it facing the casing.
Quiero que me digas cómo el ilo del carrete se enevre con el de arriba no cose
Our brother VX-808 sewing machine doesn’t have the diagram sticker. My mother had it from the 80s so the diagram may have fallen off in that time. Is there a place where I can find that sticker?
That diagram is in the owners manual. Try searching for it online. There are Facebook groups that are saving copies of old manuals for people to use. Those groups are a great resource for those looking for help.
Thank you for this video! I just started sewing and the machine my mother has (the one you are showing), had no manual. I was lost 😅.

Hi Nicki how do you make a buttonhole. sally
I no longer have this machine to show you how to make a buttonhole with it.
Merhaba sadece zikzak dikiş yapıyor nasıl düzeltebilirim 🌹
Sounds like it is stuck. I recommend taking your machine to a sewing machine repair shop to get it cleaned.
Thank you so much! You have helped me so much with my mothers sewing machine. My mom never got to teach me how to use it, I'm so thankful you made these videos.
You are so welcome!
Same! I really wished I learned from my mom :(
awesome video, thank you for the info and upload!
Glad it was helpful!
i’m staring to learning sewing what type of thread should i be using? i have some hand threads at home would that work or should i be buying some specific kinds?
hlo madam i am indian punjabi mom i buy da 756singer machine lpe. tell me tread is not correct i wait your repli with vedio
Thank you so much.. Much love ma'am. This video is a lifesaver. I love your process of explanation.
thank you
thanks, I found the manual confusing and your videos are helping me a lot!
Wrong thread position
Hi! Very helpful videos. I cos no longer find the one where you thread the top part (part 2 of this series) and I’m stuck there because my machine doesn’t have the label and I can’t see it very clearly in the video. Was this one privated? I’d love the link if you could send it or make the video public. Thank you!

Thank you very very much
How come you're not explaining what's on the backside of the Brother XL 3010 what that little knob is for a show stitching plus and minus I watched your video over and over again and I'm not seeing you haven't mentioned what it's for
I only meant to show the basics. I’m not sure what the knob is for. It should be explained in the manual. If you don’t have the manual, the best place I’ve found for finding them is Facebook groups for your type of sewing machine. The folks in some of those groups are doing a fantastic job of collecting them up and archiving them.
Do I need a special foot to use the decorative stitches on it or can I just use the zig zag foot? I had no accessories come with my 746 when I bought it except a zig zag foot...
I have found the zig zag foot to work for most stitches. The manual for the sewing machine would be the best place to verify that.
Hey Nikki! I used your tutorial to get to this point. Within 2 seconds of starting my fabric through, it got jammed immediately. I am unsure of what I did wrong but there were strings everywhere once I removed the thread plate. I’ve cleaned them out as much as I can but the machine is still jammed, will not move at all. I’m brand new to sewing and machines. Any suggestions on how to get it unjammed?
I hope you were able to get it in jammed by now. But the best way I have found to clear out a jam is to take the bobbin out and remove the pieces that hold the bobbin. That usually works for me. But without seeing your issue in person, I can’t give an accurate suggestion.
Your wonderful 😊
😊 thank you
Where is video 2?

THANK YOU!!!🎉
You're welcome!!
this video was a real lifesaver. my late grandma had a sewing machine from the 1980s and i've always wanted to learn. it's been 8 years since i started trying using it and i thought it was broken, but from time to time i tried to make it work, to no avail. today i stumbled upon your tutorials and it FINALLY worked. i just threaded it wrong, and other people i knew didn't know how to thread this particular model. thank you so much 🫶🏻
I’m so glad that this video helped you!!! 😊
Really wishing this step would have been in order on the playlist😅
My bobbin case came out and I can’t for the life of me figure out how to get it back in? I can’t find a video to help. Any chance you might be able to share a video on how to out the bobbin case back in this machine?
I hope you were able to figure this out. Unfortunately, I don’t have this machine anymore. Do you have the manual? It should show you how to do it. You could also join a Facebook group that deals with this type of machine. There are a lot of very knowledgeable people in those groups that love to help others.

Hay un vídeo en español para aprender más fácil el manejo gracias.❤😂
Thank you for the great explanation on "9" & "6" part
I think I did it wrong. I was going by how it looked at me. I should have looked at it how it would looked toward the bottom of the casing.
Merci beaucoup
Hi, I have a 3100 that is similar to yours but I do not a manual. May I ask what is the purpose of the right lower part that has a U turn arrow?
That makes the machine sew in reverse.
Thank you so much. It's been very helpful to me
