I come back to thos video a little too often 😅 seems im always missing a step but your video goes through everything sp perfectly! Thank you for taping and posting this video because its still extremely helpful in 2024 🥰
This video is miles better than the other woman's who took it from 20ft back and just talked through it. I really appreciate your close ups and explanations. Thanks!
Thank you so much for the video. I bought a used machine and had no idea on how to operate it. Your video is very helpful. I made my first project successfully.
I thanked you 10 months ago and then I forgot the right bobbin thread direction. I came back to your video and did it right finally. Thank you again my friend!!!😀
In my manual for my 6212c, the spool is placed on the spool pin with the thread going across the top (clockwise), not under as you have done, before placing the spool cover on.
This video is so helpful. What size bobbin is used. I have a couple of different, clear, plastic bobbins. They are different sizes. which one should I use? How do I oil the machine? The above link is no longer working. Thanks so very much.
I have a Singer Samba 3, which I understand is the same machine as this one. It is missing the bobbin however; what is the correct replacement bobbin? I have been looking online for this information and cannot find any reference. Sorry if this is a dumb question, I am not familiar with sewing machines.
Have you tried sewing anything heavy like leather? I heard these older machines have metal gears. I just ordered one along with some leather needles and some upholstery thread for leather work
Hi! I have this machine, from when it was new! I have sewn a lot of projects on it, nothing fancy, mostly dog clothes and cat hammocks, nothing that would require perfect stitches - which brings me to my problem: I have ALWAYS struggled with the bobbin tension (I assume it’s the tension); sometimes it throws gobs of thread and sometimes it breaks! Sometimes it seems like the top thread is not grabbing bobbin thread at all… I’ve taken it in for service multiple times and all they do it oil it and try to sell me a newer one 😕 can you help me?!
@Marklar1 yeah i had to take the plate off the back and inside there is a lil metal arm that swivels that keeps the bobbin holder in place.. i fixed that and got it working keep having a problem with my top thread breaking but i think it may be old thread.. someone gave me the machine and a box full of stuff n just think it had been in storage awhile.. gonna get some new thread n see..
These machines should be cleaned/serviced to perform optimally. You can do it your self easily. They do have metal moving parts, so they occasionally need to be oiled/greased when used regularly.

You are most welcome!

And I have the manual!!! online. Which is not super clear. I missed the last part before the needle itself. Thank you so much.
You are welcome!
Thank you so much for this video. You’re a life saver.
Thank you for the feedback, I’m glad the video was helpful. Enjoy your beautiful machine!
Thank you SO much!
you saved my life 🙏

Noted!
Please l'm still having trouble with my bobbin thread connecting to the upper thread
Wow, I would not have figured that out on my own, especially the bobbin. But what is that wire spring to the left of the tension knob for?
That spring is part of the tensioning mechanism that controls the upper tension on the sewing machine.
Thank you

I have the same problem not sure which one to use i have metal ones as well

Wondering how your project went with this machine and the leather? I have this machine wondering how it does with leather
@@robertoleeva985 never got it. Seller realized it was broken and refunded my order (eBay)
I’m not sure about this machine in particular. Hopefully someone can comment and help you out!
Did you ever try sewing leather with it?

Have you tried adjusting the upper tension knob? That might help if the stitches aren’t even on the top and bottom.
Hey the lil black piece that holds my bobbin came out and now i cant seem to get it back in.. didnt know if there was a trick to it or what.. thanks
Not sure, haven’t had that problem. Did you figure it out?

So i don't have a spool cover, I got mine second hand and I don't have one will that be bad if I use the machine without it?
I’d say if it works, you should be fine. Maybe make a small replacement cover with a piece of cardboard?
Do you ever have to grease/oil the inside mechanism if this machine (not the needle part and the bobbin)

@@Marklar1 all I needed to know! Thank you so much! You are the best!!!
Anytime.
2:28 hey i was following along but I just can’t seem to find how you made a “v” with the last slot, I simply get one line not two
Oh wait I just realized it’s the reflection my mistake
Just read your comment, was trying to figure out where you were having trouble. I’m glad you figured it out. Happy sewing!
Thank you for your post.
My machine is 972
The lower three is not working, it's just making loops. 😕
Did you figure it out?
🙏 thanks
You are welcome!
Hello l have a machine like you please help me my machine is not taking the thread from inside
Did you get it figured out?
Skipped a few important steps but thanks for rest of advice
You are welcome. Thank you.
Thank you that was easy.

Why thread broken the machine
Did you make sure to thread the machine properly?
Apparently I have been threading the machine wrong and that's why the tension is really weird...
Ya, if it’s threaded wrong, all sorts or weird stuff can happen.
