A beautiful and unique design. I really like the mix of the very bulky and rectangular look mixed with a few notable rounded areas from the gravity mechanisms.
Makes me wonder what the Tetrarch First-Rate SOTL is gonna look like when we finally see it 🤤🤤🤤 If this is what a Second Rate looks like, just imagine.....
Ive been so exited to seesome larger centrum warships, and you did not disappoint. This shio looks incredible, i think it just jumped past the Donnager for me. The mix of the curved centrafuge with the angular hull contrasts so well.
I did a count, elsewhere, with some speculation based on design tropes on other CDF ships. 8 main guns (which we don’t know the size of) 16 twin 15-inch coilguns 12 twin 10-inch sponson-mounts 2 twin 10-inch bowchasers 2 twin 10-inch sternchasers And *16* (this was confirmed by the designer) torpedo launchers. She really is a ship built for war.
@@youtubeplebmay i ask where did you see the 12 10 inches? I could only see 8 quarrel locks, 16 broadhead locks, 16 torpedoes racks and 12 swivel guns
Though nothing on the Tetrarch-class first-rate ship of line has come out, I've came up with what weapons it could have based on the relationship between the Temperantia class and the Tripathia class. This is what I came up with. 12x Quarrel-lock coilgun turrets, 20x twin Broadhead-lock coilgun turrets, 16x 6.3-inch twin rapid-action swivel gun emplacements, 20x twin Bodkin-lock sponson mounted coilguns, 2x twin Bodkin-Lock bowchaser coilguns, 2x twin Bodkin-Lock sternchaser coilguns; at least without any other weapon the Sojourn team came up for it.
Other Sci-fi warships: Clean, sleek, and elegant Sojourn: *Brick* That being said, I’ve swiftly fallen in love with the designs of the ships from the Sojourn. However, if that’s a Second Rate Ship of the Line, what the hell does a First Rate Ship of the Line look like? Or are there none of those around since there really isn’t any need for them?
You can't have rates without having First Rates, since by definition they're just your most heavily armed ships of the line, complete with exactly how many guns are required to qualify changing over time.
Now we got a second rate, I wish to see the first rate. That “Mighty” sounds a bit concerning as it reminds me of the “Mighty Hood” which we knew what happened.
Beautiful Ship, but I do have a question about the ladders visible at 0:21. I assume that a 2nd rate would not be working in planetary gravity very often/at all, so what is the point of ladders with rungs? If you were under thrust gravity, the rungs are parallel to the force, and thus can't be used effectively, and if you were just drifting, they would be mostly useless. I would think that simple rails would be more useful, because you could attach a tether with some sort of ring/carabiner, and then be able to freely slide the ring along the rail while still keeping yourself and/or your tools secure.
So im curious what they do with the centrifuge on this ship when under thrust, because going the expanse’s Tycho station, the habs rotate in the direction of thrust, so crew can still walk around, but if this ship did it you wouldnt be able to move hab to hab, at least with great difficulty, could someone explain how they would actually do it
Their ships are built in a way that use the constant thrust as gravity so they dont need the spinning habs during that period (with the exception of the Huntress which forego all of that thanks to the drift gravity plating)
It’s been said by one of the team over in the Discord that there’s something wacky going on with the centrifuge, but Achilles is also right. The centrifuges are meant to be used when the ship is stationary, never in combat or while under thrust.
Most likely the Sponson mount Coilguns. These are the non turreted guns that are fixed for a single direction, but have longer barrels and so can fire faster projectiles. It’s nice to see a mix of weapon types on any ship since there are advantages to both types, turrets have a wider range of motion while cannons have longer overall range.
This is a useless combat ship design. Fusions torches on one end only. Torches on both ends is a waste of mass and combat potential. Put lots of armor on the nose and keep it pointed at the enemy, and minimize broadside exposure. You can't armor engines like this.

Hi there Would it be possible to purchase a cast signed poster from the show? I Absolutely love the show it is amazing. Many thanks :)
The ships of the Sojourn scratch every design itch I have. The radiators and fuel tanks, centrifuges, big glowy engines. Can't get enough!
I second that...
I'm so scratched too.
I just realized, the thumbnail for the swivel guns and cannonade video was a snippet of this ship. We got a hidden teaser for it over a month ago.

Can we have a ship breakdown for the Temperantia please
0:36 It may not seems like it, but the Temperantia is actually moving. Just drag the red bar of the video back and forth.
It really gives a sense of scale and weight. She’s got four rear engines and even those barely move her.
Awesome looking design, even if putting full scale engines on the front makes little practical sense apart from redundancy. Great job
Beautiful Ship, but I do have a question about the ladders visible at 0:21.
I assume that a 2nd rate would not be working in planetary gravity very often/at all, so what is the point of ladders with rungs? I would think that simple rails would be more useful, because you could attach a tether with some sort of ring/carabiner, and then be able to freely slide the ring along the rail while still keeping yourself and/or your tools secure.
You still need a surface to grab onto to propel yourself, though.
The rungs are probably more effective as visual cue to personnel than just a rail would be.
So im curious what they do with the centrifuge on this ship when under thrust, because going the expanse’s Tycho station, the habs rotate in the direction of thrust, so crew can still walk around, but if this ship did it you wouldnt be able to move hab to hab, at least with great difficulty, could someone explain how they would actually do it
To be clear i think this is a beautiful design, but i am curious
Their ships are built in a way that use the constant thrust as gravity so they dont need the spinning habs during that period (with the exception of the Huntress which forego all of that thanks to the drift gravity plating)
It's possible that the centrifuge is just a berthing area, not actually used during action.
It’s been said by one of the team over in the Discord that there’s something wacky going on with the centrifuge, but Achilles is also right. The centrifuges are meant to be used when the ship is stationary, never in combat or while under thrust.

The bow engines are there for combat manoeuvres and the ship is designed for broadside combat. It’s perfectly functional.
so you got two sets of floors and cielings? cause you have two sets of thrust gravity...why do you have two ships glued together with a weak middle?
The forward engines are for combat manoeuvres, the decks are all arranged one way.
