Without his brother constructing that image, they would have been just like any other band. You have to give Liam that.. So when you hear stories of Liam making or progressing that image, just be a little less harsh. Noel wrote some great songs, but Liam's presentation is what sticks in the minds from this gig... This was, apart from the word, their introduction. And THEY BOTH nailed it.

I don't think the drumming's ever sounded better than on Definitely Maybe. That's probably more to do with how it's mixed than Tony's playing but still, NME's review of the album sums it up nicely I reckon: "...and those fervent, ruthless drums. The butt of many a joke, sure, but deny the brutal effectiveness of one Tony McCarroll at your peril."

Yes, I went the first night. It was amazing. Noel doing The Masterplan was fantastic! Oh they were the days lol I've seen them quite a few times but Maine Road was ultimately the best.
