If you listen carefully, to each of his performances,they are almost always different, not only in terms of time, but intensity of the beat. For a producer, a living ‘mare when trying to lay down tracks with inconsistent drumming. Hence why he had to be cut. I’m not saying he cannot play drums. He’s proven that enough in their early tracks, but one of the main somewhat underlying roles of the drummer is to maintain tine, over and again. When it varies, even by a half second, or hits the high hat instead of snare, it throws all the other musicians accompanying him. Stevie White smoked it, no question. Sticks in hands, he’s ready, and he was off! Great memories for sure. 😎🤩👌🏽
Totally agree, once McCarroll was forced out it was the beginning of the end same as sex pistols getting rid of glen Matlock - the magic was lost - I really rate McCarroll, shame how it all ended up

Noel was brutal but even Tony himself said Liam and Bonehead were sound with him… and Bonehead and Liam said he just couldn’t get it, they were in the studio for hours, vocals, lead guitar, rhythm and bass guitars done ages ago, waiting for Tony to get the drums and it was costing them. Noel is quite emotionless at times and pulled the plug. It’s harsh as fuck but they needed to do it to reach the next stage.

I remember watching The White Room performances at the time and thinking they were pretty good. I watch it now and I still think they're pretty good. I think British people were a bit fedup with the huge American bands and the intense self indulgent grunge scene at the time. It was a breath of fresh air.
