Reminds me of running home from school, knowing my dad would have his Oasis tapes on and chucking me scruffs on and having a kick about in the park. I may have grown up in a rough area but man I had a fantastic childhood
Joe Hill I used to got straight to the park to have a kick about with my school uniform still on, got em muddy, me mam used to come home and bollock me fer it, went to school the next day with no uniform haha, this happened in a regular basis
Mark feltham on the harmonica. Superb. Even better on the master plan, mtv unplugged. Best harmonica I've ever heard and the best version of the song. Hands down!!!
For me this is lyrically one of the greatest songs ever written. It aint their best song but it is still absolutely amazing. If anyone was between 16-19 years old when this song came out they know exactly what I mean cos you can totally relate to what Noel has written no matter where in Britain you lived at the time!! Brings back great memories. Still the greatest band ever.
man I was 29 n bang into them. I had best of everything...the jam style council at school....roses, Monday cast real people early 20s then oasis Charlatons n weller..ocean colour scene..fkn mega Man. love this song. it's 2022 and it still just grabs you. timeless.checkout morcheeba and Gomez. both boss.
If I had to explain Oasis to somebody I would start with this video. Liam geeked out of his fucking mind, Noel's vision on point, Beatle comparison, and most importantly a great tune.
I remember watching this over and over when I came home from school...I was so in love with Liam and looking at this again I still am!Brilliant and gorgeous Oasis at their absolute best!
+Peter Moore No and it turned him into a hypersexual wild animal and he decided steroids were a great idea and managed to get sectioned and rip a phone box out the concrete and headbutt all the panels of glass of a bus stop out but the jaw was always like that looking a bit pale and sweating and that aggressive arrogant but vacant eyes look trying to contain that coke buzz. £250-400 a day for the real deal back then was a FORTUNE and he died injecting it with heroin once but no Liam's definitely off his nut. Drink does NOT do this to you and E's make you smile lol
Just think, you're watching your favourite band rockin' it in a small studio and just when Liam Gallagher sings the word 'mingin', the camera cuts to you. Poor cow
I lived in Oxford when this was broadcast. Got back to Bradford and it was different, I'd been away 18 months and everyone was dressed like Liam with the haircut and the silly walk
Was about 15 when I taped this on a VHS . I used to come home and watch it everyday after school. I was totally in love with Liam. Happy fucking days. Thanks for posting this, it meant everything once upon a time.
SSSHIIETTT ON MY FAV SONGS!!..ONE OF THE BEST B-SIDES EVER!!! Omg and then Up in The Sky!!..and my old Noel and Liam..aaahhh i love this performance!!!!
Can still remember watchin this on the night. Awesome rendition of another penned classic from Noel. Nice improvise touch at end with the fab Up in the sky .
I love this track. I don't know the name of the guy playing the harp but he plays a mean harp! I'm pretty sure it's the one they always have with them. The whole orchestra gives it so much energy. It rocks!
where are the times, when Liam sings with drugs and it was really awesome and genial and nobody had a voice like this....liam was (but he is still) Master of britpop, Oasis....we love him...:)
Simply the best. Glad Oasis at their peak was in an era where visual/audio documentation was of a better standard. ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUNNNNNNNDDDDDD AAAARRRRRRR WAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY it's alright. Xxx
Love or hate em but oasis were untouchable when this was recorded. I remember when this performance was first broadcast, everyone was talking about it weeks after, awsome!
Forget the celebrity gossip and focus on the quality of this song's arrangement and live performance. I've never heard a harmonica and a horn section sound so good together.
1995..Boring dance and rave music everywhere and then this..I remember watching and being absolutely spellbound by Liam Gallagher..coolness personified. Oasis made rock n roll real again
Mrs H .. This song speaks volumes..These lads never forgot where they came from... My eldest brother made his mark but he never forgot his council house roots...Some FORGET but not these lads...👍
Apparently, i read they just got off a flight from america and this was the last tv performance they did of 1995 (was recorded roughly 19th-21st December 1995 for 'the white room' New Years Eve special 95 which when turned midnight the programme was playing Noel doing 'Don't look back in anger' as the clock hit midnight to start 1996- this white room special was equal to jools holland hootenany new years programme on bbc2 at the same time, can remember switching the channel from bbc2 to ch4 to watch the different bands on each show) anyway they just got off an 8-12 hour atlantic flight and went straight to the recording of the show, he rarely ever played live with his Gibson les paul around this period of late 95/early 96, also why liam looks a bit jaded and tired, so yeh straight off an atlantic flight and then to white city sudios from Heathrow to record 5 or 6 songs for this new years eve special which was being recorded the day they landed, so I imagine there was a bit of tooting going on to keep the energy going to make the finish line! especially cos it was probably on tap as soon as they got out of the airport, now they were back on home ground. What a huge busy year for them, probably their most prolific, they were everywhere globally and musically for next year.
@@gaz8177 He owes a lot of his stage personna to Uncle John Rotten, who in turn nicked the mannerisms of Ian Dury. As talented a Noel is he is not a front man. Liam is in league of his own when it comes to the swagger and attitude .
@gorringeman NBZ. Overton is just over the Shropshire/Welsh border (on the Welsh side). They have a blues club there called The Worthenbury Blues Club. I never fancied seeing them in the 80's as I thoughtn they were some dodgy mod band- but they were brilliant.
at this point in time there was no one better than Liam
True!
Still no one better than him the last Rock n roll star left 👑
Anthony Cowen ever
word!
Except Noel
Oasis were pretty untouchable in 1995. Hipsters, kids, pop fans. Everyone loved them
Except Blur fans and Americans.
***** I was a toddler at the time but tonnes of people my age (myself include) love Blur and Oasis.
Great name btw lol, fuck Google +
in 1995 Oasis were really big in the US, they were the biggest band in the world!
Vseslav Botkin Oasis were never that big in the US.

I remember watching this stunned. The energy was amazing. What a band!

Gotta love the way Liam bursts into life through his vocals.
This performance alone shows why there was such a buzz in Manchester ( even from the red half )when these lads came on the scene....quality !!
Liam Gallagher in his day absolutely rocked it..just brilliant oasis
i can remember this a pure quality, still holds up today as a classic performance

Wrap up cold when it’s warm outside.

It takes a B-side to bring out the true spirit of the 1990s and Oasis and Britpop.
3:03 - "Round our way the birds are minging" LOL You might not get that if you're not from Manchester.
Shut up
This song epitomises council house Britain. Growing up on an estate was the best thing to happen to me! Round r Way the birds were mingin!
Liam knows how to have a night out by the looks of things!!
see when he says "the birds are mingin' " at 3.05 - the camera goes straight to this bird who looks a bit confused... priceless!
Best Oasis live video
