I kinda agree with his take on the Kickstarter, a tonne of early tech projects were started by engineers who could throw a prototype together but had zero idea on what mass production actually involved. They're an order of magnitude more difficult to deliver than any other catagory. Don't get me wrong, MANY have been scams... but I feel most of the polished ones came much later on.
The thing is that, this wasn't an issue of mass production. If they threw together a prototype (like Allen did, for example) they would immediately see that it's not feasible. Instead they had a clearly faked video of a product that didn't exist.
What is also very funny is when he has to borrow a bit back from the $1,000 he gave to Superbacker because he couldnt carry his wallet in his swimsuit.
