It's insane that Mr. Beast spent so much money on production and personell, and left the entire engineering that is the core of the entire project to one dude with a tight budget and deadline. That's what it's like to be an engineer....
considering that was just the first game. And how he also needed to have a set, uniforms, cameras, custom props and editing for the whole thing - it was pretty reasonable of him to delegate the sub-projects to other people and give them a portion of the budget to use. And its a bit disingenuous to say he gave the project to "one dude", since he also gave the one dude the budget to hire more people to further split the workload.
he could have, but to be fair it would have been unnecessary *especially* if the big company did their job with the pcbs n stuff. if things worked how they should have then william would have had plenty of time to spare, plus he got paid plenty which is probably why he was fine with spending money if not just spent mr beasts money anyways@@TheRadiolarianKobold
@@TheRadiolarianKobold whats the point of wasting so much money when it could go towards videos? If they couldve just bought them they would have not needed to hire anyone. This way they not only got content and work for other people as well as supporting small businesses.
@@SheIITear Because pulling this off in 3 weeks is ridiculously unrealistic (also he should have just done his original idea and used a regulator instead of piercing the cans instead of pretending that designing, working out the kinks, and then assembling a custom board in under 3 weeks was going to happen). I know it's hard to know how much of a mess it really was because he's exaggerating for content, but this video also paints a picture of somebody who really, really, really shouldn't have been put in charge of this. Expecting a supplier to do anything that isn't putting parts in a box and shipping it to be done in under a month is just a mistake. At work I've spent a hell of a lot more than $20k just for it to take 3 weeks to actually talk to a human when things go wrong. It's just life when you're not a Walmart. You're their 200th priority.

I just rewatched it for the 10th time probably, and I think the reason why is that this is such a validating experience to see as an engineer. I think there have been times in the career of every engineer where they have felt like this, but it’s not something that’s often mentioned I feel. So to see Will go through this makes me feel validated for having moments like this

At least the part where they were called to do a test run but were instead given a long tour because the production was not ready left a bad taste in my mouth.
Exactly my experience too. This video left a bad taste in my mouth about Mr. Beast to the point I wasn't surprised once stuff really started coming out about him. I did still try to be on his side at the beginning, but now it's bad. But of course, this isn't going to end the Mr. Beast channel. He's too big at this point, nothing can really stop him unless his money from youtube and wherever the heck else he gets money gets cut off. Which it never will.
MrBeast really wanted a machine that really shoot people paintball. lol It's good that William didn't do it, but made the squib instead as it is safer.
I see a trend where bigger companies don't care about "small" orders and almost neglect them. At the same time, these orders are huge for less known companies and they see it as opportunity to grow, so they're passionate about it
Everyone give "Colorado pcb assembly" some love, the amount of stress and work that mr.breast just shugged off for these pcbs is just laughable, what a job William glad your relaxing.
Having heard bits and pieces of this third hand from Allen, it was awesome seeing the whole story unfold. Great video Billy! Not nearly as exciting, lengthy, or stressful, but I too almost ruined a Mr. Beast video last week... Who would of thought giving him lightsabers was a bad idea!
Colorado has a lot of aerospace industry, a lot of these are under ITAR restrictions meaning that they can't have anything built outside of the US. There also is just a lot of need for small custom prototyping as well.
@@michaelmolter8828 even in school they do. I once finished such a project 15 seconds before the deadline. That was... stressful. I would have almost thrown up afterwards. Just like William.
I was so happy to see everything that went wrong actually in the video it shows how usually everything does go wrong in any engendering project and keep in mind that he had over 7 hours of footage there were probable so many other things that happened and went wrong but they could fit it all
As someone who works for CircuitHub, which is also a rapid prototyping company that builds boards, I knew *exactly* the kind of pain William was going through. Every single detail. Even the parts with Digikey individually packing parts in individual bags when they need to be on a strip. Absolute nightmare. Kudos to Colorado PCB for being ontop of building the boards!
I could feel myself getting stressed just watching this. Although, sometimes a looming deadline is the magic you need to get a project done, even if it's bad for your long-term health. Colorado PCB assembly were definitely the real MVPs. Leave it to small, family-owned businesses to actually give a shit about their customers.
I love this video on a higher level. - it showed passion for small family businesses - it showed how 'improbable' things can be achieved if the motivation and incentive are high enough - it made the 'get it done' cascade so realistic. From 1 Guy a la mr beast to the contractor Willima to supporting parties (co-engineers) and printing corps. All for like 5% of a massive production xD love it.
It also showed that having a very large budget and a workforce of unpaid interns can get most tasks accomplished with varying degrees of success and only slight psychological damage.
5% OF A MASSIVE number, and his own revenue for this video. Im also usually the last guy to count exposure as payment but even AK guy became the "Demo Guy" for Mrbeast. Like anybody who works with him gets a larger following. This is the rare case where exposure acted as partial payment.
This video is so funny and inspirational, I've rewatched this every day for the past 4 days. Your tenacity and perseverance in the face of this crazy challenge is something special. William Osman is a treasure and deserves everything good in the world.

When it got to the part where the fan came in clutch with his families company I honestly started to tear up a bit it was like a one in a million chance that would happen. Amazing video will.

Tbh after all the drama, this video is pretty telling. He wanted 456 squibs in 3 weeks, and just left the science people to work nearly 24 hrs a day for those 3 weeks like Christ. Not that the work wasn't great. William and his friends/colleagues did a great job considering how fast they had to figure things out. But Mr.Beast definitefely hoped to pay in exposure, rather than hiring an actual company to build such a specific (and potentially costly) product.
they are SO getting, or going to get so much more work simply because I am pretty sure a lot of people of this channel, watch inspired of osmans wacky stuff, and also some do their own things as well, like, this is just GREAT advertisement technically, imo XD! literally saying they saved the day, because THEY DID, and then obviously a bunch of people are gonna want to, if they can, go through this family for some things XD!
@@JK8 Did you even watch the video? It wasn't the Colorado company that screwed that up...they stepped up and helped fix the issues after the big company f-ed up.

@@freddy4603 pretty sure mr beast would've been able to give william the money to buy all of the premade squibs
he could have, but to be fair it would have been unnecessary *especially* if the big company did their job with the pcbs n stuff. if things worked how they should have then william would have had plenty of time to spare, plus he got paid plenty which is probably why he was fine with spending money if not just spent mr beasts money anyways@@TheRadiolarianKobold

I was so happy to see everything that went wrong actually in the video it shows how usually everything does go wrong in any engendering project and keep in mind that he had over 7 hours of footage there were probable so many other things that happened and went wrong but they could fit it all

I love this video on a higher level.
- it showed passion for small family businesses
- it showed how 'improbable' things can be achieved if the motivation and incentive are high enough
- it made the 'get it done' cascade so realistic. From 1 Guy a la mr beast to the contractor Willima to supporting parties (co-engineers) and printing corps.
All for like 5% of a massive production xD love it.
It also showed that having a very large budget and a workforce of unpaid interns can get most tasks accomplished with varying degrees of success and only slight psychological damage.
it was also funny
5% OF A MASSIVE number, and his own revenue for this video. Im also usually the last guy to count exposure as payment but even AK guy became the "Demo Guy" for Mrbeast. Like anybody who works with him gets a larger following. This is the rare case where exposure acted as partial payment.
