I'm still debating on whether to get the new Ace Combat game (Skies Unknown I think it's called), but if Assault Horizon was on Steam I would have bought it so fast. Loved this game back on the 360 and yes.....I did pick the 117 over the A-10 for this mission. No regrets.
Ace Combat never was a true simulation anyways. It's an arcade style game, with Assault Horizon being the most action-oriented part in the series. Still, a good game and awesome soundtrack!
Only in an Ace Combat game can a glorified bomb truck like the F-117 be that badass. Still, it's pretty awesome to watch, which is the whole point of the AC series. :)

Actually, it's only called a "Fighter-Bomber" because it's a single-seat, fighter-sized aircraft. When you actually look at its specifications and performance, it's pretty much just a one-man bomber and is incapable of performing any fighter role that doesn't involve dropping bombs. The thing doesn't even have air-to-air radar. So "glorified bomb truck" is a very apt description.
That's what a full scale flight game is all about. Aerial, naval, and ground missions should be part of every flight games. That's one part i hate in "ace combat joint assault" on psp, short missions, lacking naval missions, and chase cam on plane looks real bad.

@MEAxMasterElite WHAT?Are you telling me that you can actually repair your craft mid-flight or you return to base after getting hit?In all other last 4 Ace Combat installments On levels Expert and Ace one or two missile hits,into your craft meant death!You had limited amount of missiles,the harder the level you had less missiles thus allowing room for strategy and use of wingman.This last AC looks fairly easy and made for wider audience making it more approachable for others but not for fans.
The F-117 isn't my favortie plane, nor my least favorite, but it was the first attacker to have stealth. You have to give it credit for that, if nothing else.

And ace combat 1 through 6 doesn't have major explosion it's like 1 part that explodes nd that it nothing falls off your plane. and this game also has health regeneration tell if you guy's agree on my opinion note: you don't have to if you dont want to.
Huh? A-10's can carry anti-ship missiles. And their gatling guns alone would probably chew enemy ships up like crazy. When dealing with CIWS systems, spamming dumbfire rockets and gatling guns might not be a bad idea.
Yeah, you can take an absurd amount of damage in AH, at least from machine gun fire. It just takes two or three rockets max to down you, and the missions are a bit longer than in previous games. I wouldn't call AH easy, although there were more difficult Ace Combat games. You don't have a health display in AH. Light, medium und heavy damage, that's all there is. 3 strong hits and you are down on Ace difficulty, as there is no regenerating health on Ace.
the F117 is a Stealth Fighter Bomber. So it can take the roll of a fighter. Though they don't like doing that. Waste of resources. They us F-22's for that XD

How much damn fire can you take? You must've been under direct machinegun fire at least 4-6 times during the mission, sometimes for up to 3 seconds uninterrupted, that's ridiculous.

He's right, SEALs stopped using the circle type chutes cause you can't control em' midair. Square chutes are now standard.

However. F-117A Nighthawk has been expired for USAF service in April 22, 2008. Likely F-117A Nighthawk would be replaced by F-35A Lightning II.
