Ace Combat has some of the best soundtracks ever, I guarantee you, just listen The Unsung War, Zero, and Liberation of Gracemeria for yourself, and if possible just get yourself AC4, AC5, AC0, AC6 and used PS2 and Xbox 360/emulate them (best to do so with AC5, AC0, and AC4 to an extent atm)
Man I liked this game aside from the over used dog fight mode I enjoyed it and loved the music and the dialog. And yes I've played the other AC games and love them too. Also that THEY let you play as helicopters and bombers. I just wish they had a 3rd control option for flight controls. Of combining the classic controls with the cinematic effect of the optimum. And I hope they make this backwards compatible on Xbox One.
Man, say what you want about this game, I think it's freaking awesome. Granted I may have a bit of bias since it was my first Ace Combat game (don't worry, I've played 4, 5, Zero, 7, and Assault Horizon Legacy as well). The atmosphere and the sense of urgency in this mission are so good, and the way the music builds up over the course of the mission gets that across so perfectly. And add on the fact that you can fly two of the most badass bombers of all time. I freaking love it.
@@_XPXINah, just this mission in particular since it's one of my favorite moments in all of gaming. I'm kind of an enthusiast when it comes to military aircraft, and the B-1 and B-2 are two of my favorites, so I love that you can actually fly them here.
Also, nothing wrong with taking several missiles to die, carrying over 150 units of bombs and missiles on all aircraft and having no flares on fighters :P

Everyone who has problem at shooting down the ICBM due to the fact that the mission fails 5 seconds after the checkpoint, try to switch to SP weapon and fire the at the missile as soon as you restart after the checkpoint, it will cancel the glitch whatsoever, and the rest will continue like it should. The glitch happened to me 5 times, and i did that, and it no longer happened. I used a Su-35 with 6AAMs hope this helps :)
@WestAirAviation To everyone that has a problem destroying the ICBM, the fix is to use full throttle/maximum thrust when you reload the checkpoint. If you don't use maximum acceleration during the entire chase the missile will "escape your range". That is the fix to the glitch.
The XBox Ace, that flew this mission, obviously PAID NO ATTENTION TO 'Jester's' orientation lecture in the movie "TOP GUN", when he clearly pointed out how pilots lost their dogfighting edge, because of THEIR OVER-RELIANCE ON MISSILES. That's clearly being displayed in this video! This "ersatz Ace", is firing misses, LIKE HE'S A MAJORITY STOCKHOLDER IN THE COMPANY THAT MAKES THEM. He's either launching missles BEFORE he's established a SOLID MISSLE LOCK, (too far away), or he's firing missles, when he should be USING THE FREAKING GUN, (WAY TOO FREAKING CLOSE)! Either way, GROUND THIS 'NUGGET', or SEND HIM BACK for the 'REFRESHER' COURSE.
@sniperspider1997 all you need to do is hit the acceleration button when you enter DFM and never let go and you will have more time to destroy it and try to avoid the ICBM flames.

Your getting about 50 seconds of chase time after check point...Im getting 3. Iv started a new game, I went back to gamestop (wanted the f4, fav just as a kid)to trade in for a new one, thinking cd might be bad, iv tried everything I can think of ...

I was the same. When you appear only next to the rocket hit the accelerator. No more button. Just accelerator. That way you can do it. Accelerator + missiles
I couldn't either UNTIL I made sure that I was holding the afterburner trigger from the time the missile sequence starts until the time I blew it out of the sky. What ever you do, you must not release the afterburner trigger (even if it looks like your catching up with the warhead.)
I don't know what this guy was thinking when he decided to use special missiles on the first wave, I would rather use the standard fox 2 missile the second wave is where fox 3 missiles are required before the ICBM interception.
@PizzaDaHut05 there's no glitch trust me, try switching your controls to original setting so you can maneuver better and also stay out from right behind the middle of its after burner and hut it from the side also use the throttle a lot but not to much you need to stay close but not to close
I remember doing this with the B2 and when it came to that last radar area, hit a bump and just said fuck it and flew through radar with centimeters to spare. I still to this day have no idea how I pulled it off

@pywakett350 ok I figured it out you have to hit the throttle and stay on the missile if you dont keep your speed up then it gets away. Beat it first time doing this so problem solved.
@14mobius I have tried switching weapons. I have tried shooting it with both weapons. I gotta say shooting the ICBM down is not possible. There just isn't enough time, and I hit it with 4 regular missiles, and all 6 of my aim 6's before time ran out. How many missiles does it really take to knock out a ICBM anyway?

If you didn't use the B-2A and F-15C for this mission then you haven't beaten the game in Elite difficulty.

B-2 is slow as fuck . And in Ace Combat there's no point using a stealth bomber as you can't avoid being detected .
