Great video - thanks for that. I was struggling to free the little barrel-shaped plunge-pin in the clutch lever, and wasn't sure if the OEM Triumph lever's bush was glued-in or not. Tuen out I just needed to hit it harder. ... On a side note, I see you struggled with the clutch plunge-pin's protective rubber/dust-boot which is connected to the master-cylinder. The trick to getting that back in place, shielding the pin and locating the boot around the natural 'neck' of the pin, is to do that first i.e. before you slot of barrel into the lever. Line the pin up against the hole and spin it to get into the centre of the hole (which will keep moving around), and then I used long nose pliers to gently encourage the rubber to the "neck' of the plunger.

I'm pretty sure you should have fitted the brass bush from the old clutch lever into the new one, thats been the case on the levers i've fitted.
You can see the hole on the new lever looks way too large for the pin.

Thanks Tim, your videos have been a godsend. They make everything looks so easy and have encouraged me to work on my bike instead of running it to the shop for very simple things.

@@tims-garage I’m glad dude...waiting to see what else you got coming while I gather the courage to install the x-pipe on my thruxton 😅

Appreciate the video. I managed to get hold of some standard levers and had them powdercoated black. I’ll use your video when swapping over!

Love the little mods you've been making for consistent content. Messaged you awhile back on IG, i'm actually the current owner of your old CM build!

After you changed new cluch lever , was it more lighter to grasp cluch lever ? Leverage is more important than its design for me.

Cool Vid. I'm looking at the rizoma 3d levers but I like these tec ones.

How did you get the rubber part to cover the knob screw on the break to fit back in?

I just wiggles it on. You could try hand sanitizer too

Are the levers discoloring? I bought a set from TEC and they changed colors from black to more of a emerald greenish color.

You said Tec bike parts USA, they’re from the UK 😁 also, you didn’t clean and grease the moving parts. It’s a good idea to do that. Good video though 👍

So they have a USA devision, hence the "USA" part... Also I did grease it, just not shown in the vid. Thanks for the like! 💪 www.tecbikepartsusa.com/

I hate to say this and I'm not bashing you...those are cheap Chinese leavers. I've seen them on bikes where they have turned brown from the sun light.
Spend the extra money on a set of Vortex levers made in the USA, double the price but the feel and quality is well worth it.
You have spend lots of money on Rizoma, don't go cheap on the things that matter like levers.
Love what yeah doing though, keep it up.

I have a set on my speed twin and my clutch lever turned an emerald greenish color which I had to replace. I plan on purchasing the oem Triumph ones which are a lot more expensive but definitely better quality.

    • @danvanbelk1

They’re not Chinese, they’re machined in the UK by Tec bike parts

They are cnc milled in china and tec puts their logo on them. They're an aliexpress lever.
