    That's exactly how I change my nFEP film. Except I torque down the screws as if I were torquing down the head of a car engine. Start from the centre and work your way out left and right in a cross pattern. Great video, keep up the good work!

    Great video...almost identical to how I do my nFEP, except I've never used tape...I will from now on though as your rationale makes perfect sense. At the end of the process, I also poke holes through the nFEP where the two holes fit over the bolts when placing the vat on the printer.

      Some people dissagree with this
      They said it will be too tight and creates fail print.
      But print result shows otherwise. 😆

      @@wangdennys Yes, you have some amazing print results. I've actually just right now completed changing to a new nFEP using this method and will do a print later tonight once the weather cools down a bit and we can turn the air-con off and open the windows and doors. It is definitely a tighter nFEP tension than what I normally have, but really interested in seeing how it goes :)

      Hey, do you have any experience changing the fep on a uniformation gk2?
      Any ideas on how I can keep tension on a very thin frame? It's almost 2d, there are no side walls to tape it to.
      3 fails so far.
      Great video, if you don't have time or interest, no worries I'm sure you have a busy life.

    Looks easy & clean trick … it’ll be very useful for a single gasket type resin tank like my LD-002H … but, I’ll stick to my electric screwdriver, I don’t want to tire my right hand by tightening the screws manually … :p

    Hi Denys, I did this but it seems that the FEP is now too tight (Phrozen Sonic Mini regular) - Should I be giving the FEP more slack with a bottle cap or something? I am getting failed prints due to a too tight FEP. Thanks!

  • @zachprice3279

    I have a Halot One and with the tape on I couldn't get the screws started no matter how hard I pushed down on the retaining ring. I had to pull the tape off at each spot as I was trying to get each screw started. After I got the corners going I took the rest of the tape loose.

    How do you avoid it being too tight? I've changed mine twice now but its too tight which too much suction in print

    • @wangdennys
      @wangdennys  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tightness doesnt affect suction.
      If you think your fail due to suction, that usually means wrong orientation or lack of drain hole or slightly underexpose

    Never use tape Denny's it leaves so much rubbish behind, this is just my thought. Maybe print an outside collar that sleeves the vat and allows a toleration of calculated annular. (maybe make the model and only gift the model to patrons and such)

    So there is no need on bigger print plates (like mono X) for special "bottle cap" on the middle of FEP when tightening screws?

    • @wangdennys
      @wangdennys  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      This method is for resin tank with single gasket.
      For dual gasket like mono x people still recommend bottle cap.

    why do so many tutorials put a bottle cap or something under the fep?

    • @wangdennys
      @wangdennys  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      People said fep can be too tight if installed without spacer and causes fail print etc. And they just copy paste other tutorial.
      But i am still using the same fep since this video up till now on my printer. And no fail, no puncture, no nothing.
      LOL
      And been doing this method for the last 2+ years
      I will work on another follow up video for this method too when it's time to replace the same resin tank fep. My guess is it can still go for another month with daily printing.

    For all the fanboys in the comments: nFEP is inferior to FEP under practical conditions. It lasts a bit longer and that's about it. Pull forces are higher and print success for delicate models lower.
