I have an old house with 9’ garage ceiling height. I have been using the Maxx Jaxx for 6 years. Great lift! In my opinion this is a better option than the QuickJacks simply because the car is raised higher. I have the version with the ratcheting safety stops. It has 5 or 6 heights where there is a mechanical stop to keep force off the hydraulic cylinders. Nice feature. It does everything I need. It will lift up my FF with no issue at all. When installing these things you need to be very careful with the post spacing/location and concrete requirements.
just make sure once you use it a few time to go back over the hold down bolts for each column. They do loosen up a bit and re-torquing is needed. I let mine sit over night before i lifted a car and checked the torque and i had to torque them about an additional 10 ft lbs on some of them. Also a good thing to have until you feel comfortable with the lift is to put a level on the column and watch deflection on how much it moves. You want to make sure your 100% safe so you don't have any accidents.
A friend installed those jacks in his garage. These are the same jacks I used to convert my Audi R8 from R-tronic to manual. These jacks are built in Alabama, which is pretty cool.
New concrete floor, waiting for it to cure before installing my max jax mid rise lift. I can’t wait! I’ve been wanting one for 20 years! Thanks for a great video.
Not many people can say " we are going to try it out with a Ferrari as the test car. Shows your guys trust in the product and possibly the installers too.
Great video Dan! I've been looking at those for some time now but, I was always worried about just how stable they are with a decent sized car on them. Seems like it works pretty damn good. I might just pull the trigger on it.
You are going to need to put that Street Glide on a battery charger the engine has too much compression to jump it unless you have a really big hill to push it down. Any questions just ask me have had Harley's for over 20 years. Cheers
I have one of those hoists and I love it. I works great for an engine out on my 355. Prices have gone up on those like everything else. I think I paid 2 grand for mine 7 years ago.
Is it just editing or are you installing the lags then taking them out to clean the holes? Correct way : Mark Drill Clean with air and brush X3^ Install lags Level Install post Make sure it’s Plum Tighten top bolts
Is it possible to get your 599 on the lift without pulling it on to something like 2x6’s to lift it up first and when you do is it possible to lift it and be able to pull the pans off the bottom
Awesome....how is clearance at either end for gas tank removal or suspension work etc? Does the garage door have to be open to access? Anyway....great video. Great job on the installation also.
Hope some day you can do the Ferrari Tribute Targa FLORIO, we have over 80 cars this year . N. 1 SP1 and. N. 1 296 plus 812 F12 Tribiuto SF 90s and so on.
Good to see Moe holding down the floor. Does the lift have a maximum height cut-out, that you can set? So you don't smash the roof of your car into the ceiling. My concrete floor has a warning saying, "Post Tension - Do Not Cut or Drill." It has steel rods under tension as I understand it, running within the concrete. So I guess I'm shit out of luck with these.
Can't push start a modern harley with a dead batt. Much like a car it need the power to the computer to fire injectors and stuff. Make sure you have the key fab. In your pocket. It is the immobilizer and will not start without it.
This lift is so expensive that even the rich acknowledges it is expensive; the guy has 2 Ferraris in his garage and still feels the lift is expensive; IT IS! very, right now I have 1 light truck and 1 mini van to do engine swaps and bought the M7K from Homo-Depot, at a discounted "special price" of $3629 out the door, also got the expensive Ergo Creeper as well at a discounted price of $469.00 out the door; that is $4100 to work in 2 cars but I think my body will thank me. So since I am not rich I guess I am complaining because I am poor and bought it because I am stupid, 😂 but if a rich guy calls it expensive, makes me feel better about it.

Yes, I was lucky that my concrete was thick enough. 5+ inches and it requires 4.5".

Good tips

Very cool.

Haha true!
Excellent video. What did you end up with for spacing between the posts? Either from inside to inside or outside to outside.
A lift is a life, a car persons goals 👍! That gut feeling testing it out for the first time.
It really is!
Great stuff Dan. And with the quick disconnect you just pull the hoses out of the way. Cool.
Right on
Like Thursday night..Dan gets hammered...
,
Yup
what was the manner in which you measured the depth of the concrete underneath the hydraulic lifts?
Drill, put put a metal rod down the hole and mark how deep it goes. I normally do like that
@@organiccold how do you differentiate doing that between concrete and the fill?
You can tell if it's concrete or fill pretty easy when drilling.
@@normalguysupercar excellent. i saw a video a while back where the depth of the concrete varied wildly. be safe :)
Good to see you Dan.Sadly I havnt been keeping up with your videos.I will try to catch up.Hope you and the family are doing well.
Thanks!
Now you need some people to come over and cut a grease pit with some retractable/removable grate covers. Lol!!
Great video Dan! I've been looking at those for some time now but, I was always worried about just how stable they are with a decent sized car on them. Seems like it works pretty damn good. I might just pull the trigger on it.
I'm pretty pleased with it thus far.
You are going to need to put that Street Glide on a battery charger the engine has too much compression to jump it unless you have a really big hill to push it down. Any questions just ask me have had Harley's for over 20 years. Cheers
The battery was completely dead and wouldn't hold a charge at all so we replaced it.
Congrats Dan!
Thanks!
Wow. That's pretty awesome! Now I'm really jealous.
Thanks! It's been MANY years coming.
I have one of those hoists and I love it. I works great for an engine out on my 355. Prices have gone up on those like everything else. I think I paid 2 grand for mine 7 years ago.
Jeeze. $2k would have been much more palatable.
Where’d you get the helix led lights those are sweet?
We sell them. www.normalguysupercar.com/product/the-ultimate-garage-led-lighting-system-hexagon/
Very cool, what keeps the left and right side in sync with each other, lifting the same amount at the same time?
Hydraulic pressure.
Dan - do you feel like the Max Jax are really worth the extra ~2x-3x investment over QuikJacks if you have a low ceiling?
Yes. MUCH more room.
Is it just editing or are you installing the lags then taking them out to clean the holes?
Correct way :
Mark
Drill
Clean with air and brush
X3^
Install lags
Level
Install post
Make sure it’s Plum
Tighten top bolts
Should also use 3- 5000lbs rating epoxy in each hole too
Not according to their instructions
What lights do you have set up in your garage? That's a real cool honeycomb effect.
They are hexagon lights. We sell them here www.normalguysupercar.com/product/the-ultimate-garage-led-lighting-system-hexagon/
Looks pretty slick!
It's pretty cool
Congrats !!! Love the setup !!!
Thanks!!

YUP! JUUUUUST barely though. My 458 which was lowered would not have worked without some help.
sometimes its the simple things, that make things better.
Yup
Awesome....how is clearance at either end for gas tank removal or suspension work etc? Does the garage door have to be open to access?
Anyway....great video.
Great job on the installation also.
There should be enough to to most jobs. An engine out would be tight. I have enough room for the door to be open or closed.
Hope some day you can do the Ferrari Tribute Targa FLORIO, we have over 80 cars this year . N. 1 SP1 and. N. 1 296 plus 812 F12 Tribiuto SF 90s and so on.
That sounds fun.

I'm not sure if there's an adjustable stopper.
I have the post tension cables too. I had a guy come out to do ground penetrating radar to identify cable locations. Cost $500 but worth it.
It's Bike Octoberfest in Daytona this weekend (October 14-16)...
That sounds like something I would avoid.
@@normalguysupercar Me too...unless we storm it with 50 supercars.
3 things will get you more friends than you know what to do with:
1. A pick up truck,
2. A welder, and
3. A lift.
I've got 2/3... Hmm.
I need a welder right now... lol
Can't push start a modern harley with a dead batt. Much like a car it need the power to the computer to fire injectors and stuff. Make sure you have the key fab. In your pocket. It is the immobilizer and will not start without it.
Yeah it just needed a new battery. It wouldn't hold any charge at all
Is Loeper still around?
Yes
You should try rum I get the hoses across the ceiling
Yeah, I may consider that.
Anyone know where you can get these still for $1999 new?
Probably not anywhere
Nice
Thanks
Still say you need a projector TV so you can watch movies from your car like you were in drive in...
Eh, It's not that big a garage.
It's not cheap but it is good
Dude you need appoxy with the bolts…don’t trust them on your Ferrari
The instructions do not call for any epoxy.
I have read nothing but horrible things regarding their support and service.
I haven't had to deal with that side of their company so I can't say anything to that
First
Not quite...
