    Keep the videos coming , Porsche fans love any 911 content. And this is from a dealership which is rare.

    I prefer the look of the 2016 but the engine of the 2019.

      Yes the 2019 has a bit more robust valve-train that is adjusted by shims like the Cup cars, though I'm not sure how hard and how long you would have to drive it to see any benefit...

    The only difference worth mentioning is that the engine in the series one is a ticking time bomb. Mine self destructed at 44000km. The cam lobes were destroyed. Had a number of high rpm misfires which were "fixed" by changing the timing sensor. IMO all of the series one engines will self destruct if they actually get used. I now have a 991.2 GT3 and have much more confidence in the engine. The 991.2 GT3RS is the car to have even over the new 992 GT3RS . IMO of course.

      That was the first vlog I watched of yourselves and subscribed, it’s still did not say about dealers giving cars to car flippers and selling through the Porsche dealership at inflated prices with a large chunk of the proceeds been giving back to the dealer as a payment in kind being from the uk I see this time and time again , more resent a £70,000 profit on a gt3 touring after only 8 month , can you say this doesn’t happen over their? It nice the see the gt3 only just returning to over list price secondhand , but this doesn’t stamp out the problem of how enthusiastic drivers who want one get over looked , only when Porsche take the choice away from dealer principles and manage allocation themselves will it stamp out the problem of favouritism and financial payments being paid to dealers , Ferrari has solved this problem while still rewarding loyalty to previous customers 👍

    I can't decide...40-50 k premium for a .2 seems right but I'm torn. Also can't decide if the WP is the way to go.

    • @palefaced1
      @palefaced1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Having had both, the .2 is the way to go and worth the premium. It's overall a better more refined car. The 2016 is more raw, but the 2019 is just a better car in general. The steering is improved, sound, interior refinement, etc.

    • @OfficialPorscheCentreCalgary
      @OfficialPorscheCentreCalgary  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well the GT series cars are lighter and do without a lot of the creature comforts (which add weight). A GT3 is much different to drive than the 'regular' 911's, much more than the numbers and stats would lead you to believe. One is optimized for the track, the other for the road.

      @@OfficialPorscheCentreCalgary Anything you can expand on? I am looking at 2016 and a 2018 to buy. GT3 Or RS. Is the difference dramatic between 16 and 18?

    • @OfficialPorscheCentreCalgary
      @OfficialPorscheCentreCalgary  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@rumrunrjones8546 For the 2016 model year Porsche produced a GT3 RS, but not a standard GT3. For 2018 it was the opposite, they produced a GT3 but not a GT3 RS. Then for 2019 it switched back and the updated GT3 RS was available and there was no GT3.
      Whether you want a GT3 or a GT3 RS depends on whether you want a 911 that is as performance focused as a street car can be, or if you want a race car that is just comfortable enough to drive it on the road occasionally.
      What was significant about the GT3 for 2018 was that it was available to be ordered with a new 6 speed manual transmission, or with the PDK dual clutch transmission. The previous iteration of the car which was available in 2014 and 2015 had only been available with the PDK. There were other improvements as well, but the newly available manual option is what really made headlines.

      In terms of whether to go with a manual car or a PDK, it is a personal decision. The PDK is superior in every measurable way. It is faster, more efficient, and more convenient. The manual offers a very different driving experience and forces you to engage more deeply with the drive at the cost of ultimate performance. There is a school of thought that saddling a cutting edge race car with the slower transmission is a silly thing to do, but those who are looking for that engagement will happily make the sacrifice.
      The other differences are relatively minor. The 2018 GT3 and 2019 GT3 RS have updated styling, though they are only minor tweaks compared to the previous models. Those vehicles also come with some updates to the infotainment system including a more user friendly interface and Apple CarPlay. There are some performance enhancements as well such as updated aerodynamics and so on as we discuss in our video. The newer cars are faster, but if you are looking at anything in the world of Porsche GT vehicles you really can’t go wrong. Whether the most current or the classic versions and everything in between, they all offer outstanding performance and driving enjoyment at the highest level
      , Thank you for watching!

      You get more power and torque in the 2019. You can compare both of them here:

    So basically the 2016 is crap 😂😂

    • @OfficialPorscheCentreCalgary
      @OfficialPorscheCentreCalgary  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, we wouldn’t say that at all. Porsche is always pushing the limit and making whatever improvements and enhancements they can. We’ll likely see the next generation of GT3 RS soon and I’m quite sure it will be faster and more extreme than the 2019 iteration. Lessons are learned and advancements are developed all the time. Especially on the racetrack. This means the newest cars are virtually always the fastest and most advanced. That isn’t to say the models they replace are slow, they represent the peak of their time and that is significant. As we look back on Porsche’s history we also find each generation has its own unique character and develops its own following of those who appreciate it over its successors because of its unique traits that speak to that individual.
