  • That no matter how terrible the night… dawn would always come.
    That you…
    That you would always come…
    For me.
And you have. Again and again.
    🥲🥲🥲

Just did this quest last night and it was an unexpected but amazing reward for doing all the side quests. Clive and Jill's relationship is so sweet and I'm so happy I got to see something like this. Super romantic.

In spanish, the sidequest is called My treasure, which i think is a better name.

The most important side quests are "Priceless" along with "A Tail to Tell"
Both played will explain the meaning of the dawn seen end game and the book, written by cid rosfield.

i hope the clue about what happened in the endings is in the scholar words to Clive, that he should write when all this is over, meaning he wrote the book as his memoirs. But my logic brain tells me he just died.

      "A Tail to Tell"
"when the day comes, I'l certainly have a lot to write about" is what clive replied to Haprocrates after his encouragement to pick up a pen.
Harpocrates is all-knowing as the game claims, but opting choosing to delve into the intimacy side of pheonix and ifrit(older brother), chances it's more likely Clive.
There's a point in the game where Joshua clearly stated that his eikon's power could never bring someone back to life.
Clive who loves his brother more than cid, should probably have higher chances that he would honor his brother's legacy.
      "Priceless"
In Priceless, Japanese language; On that special day when they were young, Jill recalled witnessing the flowers reaching out for the sun after the storm; similarly, Clive reached out to her and calmed her down from the "storm" the storm being that she was being ignored as a person when she overheard her marriage potential. She gains the conviction that Clive will always be there for her, no matter what (a belief that is confirmed several times in the game, with Clive first coming back to her after many years apart and then saving her in the ship). She said that's a quality she appreciates and likes about him before she confessed to him and declared him as her treasure.
Therefore, end-game seeing the sun rising calmed her down and stopped her from crying any further.
But, endings are arbitrary nowadays, it's a gamer's pick. cheers!

After digesting this with two play throughs and time to process, I think the ending is perfect. It’s even better than if they were to spoon feed it to us because we’re supposed to come away from that last scene with Jill viewing the sunrise and knowing Clive will come back to her, she had faith in that, and didn’t need concrete proof or logic, and when it fades to black we as the player are put in her shoes to have that same faith, the same faith Clive had in humanity that baffled and confused Ultima, the same faith Joshua had with his dying words that clive would save himself for Jill. Even when the gut reaction(which is what most people stay with instead of pondering further) is to think that he died, you are given a choice to have the same faith that carried everyone in the game through their journey.
      It’s beautiful.

Wow, the English localisers really screwed this up. First you have the ridiculous innuendo joke "you'll come for me again and again..." then in Japanese Jill tells Clive she loves him, not "thanks, I needed this." Bleh.

This is absolutely the reason I took it upon myself to search for this video. Just to potentially see a comment like yours that shares my thoughts. The english script overall and its' subtitles have been such a disappointment for me throughout the entire game when I could hear the superior japanese version.
