I feel like I'm really in the minority on this, but Zack's new VA honestly grew on me a lot over time to the point I might even prefer him over the original. Like most, I wasn't a fan of such an unnecessary change at first, but idk, after a couple years now and with Remake and Rebirth, I'm not afraid to say I honestly really like Caleb's voice work as Zack now.
Same here. Its always hard to make your way into people's heart in these situations.
Outside of kingdom hearts I didn’t have any connection to the original voices at all so I actually prefer zacks current voice

And in originality. They gave Zack some of Aeriths character traits cause westerners where pissed that Aeriths personality is annoying and the same people complaining accepted Zack because he is male.
The developers let Zack fall on the church LIKE Cloud, let Zack be the reason Aerith has her pink bow despite the fact she has already bow since she was a kid and they let Zack be the one who gives Aerith the idea into selling the flowers. You know, she, who literally GREW UP IN THE SLUMS!?! Because they gave Zack Aeriths personality traits, they downgraded Aeriths Personality into Tifa to make it not obsious. They had no original idea to let Zack meet Aerith in a different way, they made Sephiroth not be the only one coming into the idea, he is the experiment. They had to make Genesis talk into him which was so stupid! I hate Crisis Core and i am so happy Genesis didnt show up in Rebirth!

I like that one dialogue with a second class and a third class (I think), and they ask Zack who he think is the hottest woman in midgar. You can choose to say: Aerith, Cissnei, and "Me of course". He will get angry in any of them 😂
I've seen all cinematics two times, cried two times at the end of the game. Buyed the game, still cried in the end. I think no game ever made me cry so much, I was litteraly begging for it to stop and that I wasn't ready lmao

His VA sounds much better in Rebirth. He improved. He won't top Rick Gomez but he really sounds better. No longer has that nasally sound

The funny thing is he sounds infinatly better in intergrade, his delivery sounds so much more solid, and just generaly sounds better.
Im pretty sure its a directing thing, cause i rememeber hearing that the voice direction for reunion wasnt that great, even Cloud and Sephiroths VAs, who both did fantastic jobs in Remake were pretty weak in a lot of their delivery, unless im mistaken they were basicly just shown the og and were just told "do that" and weren given much chances. but the funny thing is, there is a point in reunion right before the time skip and it has zack doing a sort of monolouge talking about whats happened, and that scene wasnt in the original, or at least wasnt voiced, and he sounds WAY better in that, almost like he got propper direction.
I do agree that i prefer og, but i enjoy the new va, and im going to give him a full chance for his performance in rebirth, of which im confident that he could do well in, with proper direction he would sound great, and hes already shown he has it in him. Who knows, if he does really well i might just perfer him over the og, i dont expect that though, but i am confident hell be MUCH better in rebirth.

Terrible game... worse character. There are few more transparent examples of a Gary Stu within Final Fantasy (*any* Final Fantasy) than Zack Fair. Dude is literally just a vehicle for misplaced (and discordant, given the overall dark theme of the setting) stupid smiles and Hardy Boy-like quips.
CC is fan fiction as far as I'm concerned. Even tho it's all the same writer. The tone is so different than FF7. Zack is so cringe. Sephiroth and the other 2 reciting Loveless like a trio of queers. So odd.
