@@vinnosgyros6528 I'm a Dutchie and watched a couple reaction vids to this song. Now it's stuck in my head forever. Welkom in Europa, blijf hier tot ik dood ga! Europapa! Europapa!
Eurovision is an emotional affair for Joost. As a child, he watched it together with his parents. "Parents, one day I'm going to be on Eurovision stage" and he made it. Unfortunately, his parents died when he was a child. This song is dedicated to his late father. That's why it's called EUROPAPA. The part in the song “I'm in Germany, but I'm so alone. I'm in Italy, but I still feel the pain, etc.", I feel it's directed at his parents... It's a quirky and unpretentious take on a serious topic very relevant for Croatia, but relatable to many people. Baby Lasagna's story is also amazing - "this was a reserve song that was not supposed to compete, he got on stage by accident because another contestant dropped out so he had only 1 month to shoot a music video and prepare for his act. This was the first time he actually performed on stage in front of a camera (he was a guitar player and wrote music for other artists) and he admitted that he was extremely anxious about it. He always watched Eurovision with his parents and said to his father, I will be on that stage one day. And his father said borders are made up by men so you can unthink them. There are no borders and limits. The burning photo and house means a goodbye to the pain. (He lost his father at 12 and mother at 13) He will always love them deerly but he needs to let go of the pain, he cannot carry that with him all his life. He said it at the song presentation.

It's catchy .. I'm Dutch ... I'm Fries (like Joost) ... Look up Two Unlimited if you liked that vibe later in the song (gabbertjes, Hakkuh .) .. it's ofcourse from before you were born ... It’s fun and up beat, but at it’s core it’s a sad song about him missing his parents. Who died when he was very young. His dad thought him there are no borders. And while watching eurosong with them he told them he would preform there one time. They died when he was 12 and that’s why he dedicated this song to them. To me it’s more emotional with every listen.
Dude, how can you NOT love happy hardcore?! 😜 I grew up with this music genre in the Netherlands (which was created as more ear-friendly version of hardcore), which was 'it' for youth in the 90s. The 'dancing' bit is called 'hakkuh' (just Google that LOL). I have nothing with Eurovision, but dang, I LOVE this song! So catchy 😁
Hey thank you for reacting to this one it's all in the end of the song lost his both parents his father when he was 12 and 1 year later his mother that is the part were the emotion sits Joost Klein i also never heard of him but neber the less a great song Greetings from the netherlands
Love your focus on the lyrics ❤❤ so crazy lots of people seem to skip over lines like 'I lost everything except for time'. ❤ Btw I heard a tip about how to pronounce 'Joost' best. It's like Coast or Toast, but replacing the first letter with 'J'. 😊
Theres an amazing polish artist - Jann he almost represented poland last year with song called "gladiator" but in the end someone else was chosen and he actually lived in UK for some time "need a break" is also great check out those when you have some time!
The story behind the song is about his fathers advice ( his parents died before he was 13 years old) but his father told him to live without borders he said they are not really there not if you look at the world 🌎 from far away and also not in your mind.
"I'm not really feeling the beat of this. It's not catching me," says the guy who can't stand still from the moment the music starts 😂

@@TeddyGreyOS oh, no you're totally allowed to not feel the song, like you said, art is subjective. Just found it funny that the song that is generally considered as being the most catchy is the song you're not feeling and that isn't catching you. nothing more, nothing less
Thank you for getting it!
also, note about Joost: he lost his parents when he was young. His dad passed when he was 13 and his mother when he was 14 (if I'm correct). Quite some of his songs have messages about/for his parents
12 & 13
Master piece
One of the only reactions that get the message, well done of you too!
I love this song Europapa.. The best from Eurovision..❤❤❤
Thanks for your reaction 😃
Your reacting is so on point, high level filosophy🥸🤓🧐🥹
'we're not in europe anymore'🤣1:00
The majority of my country became so anti-Europe after Brexit and now it feels like we’re not in the gang anymore 😭🤌
@@TeddyGreyOS You're still in Europe, just not in the EU ffs XD ... I understand it was a tough break-up, maybe we need to make up :P
You are in Europe, you are not in the European union, but you are still European
@@TeddyGreyOS your still in the continent of europe.
Your not part to the union. thats all.
Guys, I didn’t mean literally…
You mean you’ve just watched me break down a whole song but you don’t understand nuance? Come on man 😂 let’s all just be European friends
Proud of Joost!! Feels nice that many people understands 😁
how more you listen to it how better it is
He always watched Eurovision with his parents and said to his father, I will be on that stage one day. And his father said borders are made up by men so you can unthink them. There are no borders and limits. The burning photo and house means a goodbye to the pain. (He lost his father at 12 and mother at 13) He will always love them deerly but he needs to let go of the pain, he cannot carry that with him all his life. He said it at the song presentation.
the first time i felt proud being european
Amsterdam Eurovision 2025. Its definitely looking very awesome
Great message. Great number! The Netherlands. 12 points!
We in the Netherlands, we mish you people from the UK😘 We feel so close to you😢 with the war nearby its like the burning at the end😬🫢 It is a privilege to have freedom🫶
His mom and his dad Died when he was 12 and 13 years old, so thats the reason why he made this song for his parrents, thanks for letting me see another look on this song i didnt thin about it like your reaction to this song :D Greetings from The Netherlands
There's always a national discussion what singer or song to compete at the ESF.. but this one feels so right at the right moment. Joost created a continental anthem for us europeans 😂❤ altough there's very strong competition this year, this song will stick and stand out with a hilarious performance 😅 netherlands, 840 points
you make me giggle and smile ❤
12 points for Fryslân
the sound is typical 90's. from happy hardcore/hardstyle and later in the tune is gabber style. Man i miss those days in Holland. I see the godfather of hardstle Paul Elstak is in the car.
The people sitting at the last supper include singer S10 (NL Eurovision 2022) and there's a ton more cameos. And Joost is pronounced like Yoast.
It's catchy .. I'm Dutch ... I'm Fries (like Joost) ... Look up Two Unlimited if you liked that vibe later in the song (gabbertjes, Hakkuh .) .. it's ofcourse from before you were born ... (we oldies did have good music .. even though the 90's wre still still babies .. in our perspective ... I'm looking forward to this year's Eurovision! And nice to have met you TeddyGreyonStuff (I'm Grey)
Is also about, come together, it's now or never, our house might be burning soon, the fire already started... Thanks for your beautiful reaction, many thx & love from Amsterdam
An ode to his father who passed away when he was 12 years and his mother who passed away when he was 13 years. His father told him that there are no borders, no limits. Go, travel and discover Europe and the world. He promised his father that one day he will be singing at the Eurovision. They used to watch it together when he was a child. Now he made it, because he will be on stage this year. The fire simbolise letting go of the pain no having his parents and the start of a new chapter in his life.
How you explained about taking fear away by having the union is something i never thought about. Thnx man.
Europa - pa
Its so fck catchy
Did anybody mention that That song by Stromae means "dad, where are you"?
Good explanation!
Fantastic vision to this masterpiece 12 points
It’s fun and up beat, but at it’s core it’s a sad song about him missing his parents. Who died when he was very young. His dad thought him there are no borders. And while watching eurosong with them he told them he would preform there one time. They died when he was 12 and that’s why he dedicated this song to them.
To me it’s more emotional with every listen.
Lmao the last part of the song is a BOP. Its Dutch 90s era EDM called Gabber
Hey Teddy, from now on you're watching;;and watch out for Joost, he's a winner ❤❤❤
So catchy 😁
The dutch gabberhouse style
Crucial info about the end
His father passed away from cancer when he was 12 and his mother next year
Hey thank you for reacting to this one it's all in the end of the song lost his both parents his father when he was 12 and 1 year later his mother that is the part were the emotion sits Joost Klein i also never heard of him but neber the less a great song
Greetings from the netherlands
omg i hadnt seen the ending before, im about to start crying, his whole dream of a united europe without borders is in flame
Malaysia New Song Before Trending 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻❤❤❤
Steady gang - ( 周星翅Chou xing chi )mv
Hahaha u were moving to the beat like crazy
Love your focus on the lyrics ❤❤ so crazy lots of people seem to skip over lines like 'I lost everything except for time'. ❤
Btw I heard a tip about how to pronounce 'Joost' best. It's like Coast or Toast, but replacing the first letter with 'J'. 😊
Love the song!!!❤
“We’re not in Europe anymore”
What?! 🤣
Klein is going to crush Eurovision
Loved your reaction😂+1
Theres an amazing polish artist - Jann

@@lorenzo_smit xD
@@tjanneke hell yeah xD
...dankjewel Teddy :-))
The story behind the song is about his fathers advice ( his parents died before he was 13 years old) but his father told him to live without borders he said they are not really there not if you look at the world 🌎 from far away and also not in your mind.
Time to react to Joost: Florida 2009 and cry
The hoodie goes hard man! Can I ask you where you got it from? Loved your reaction btw!
12 Points from Germany 😊👍❤
