    You have a good eye. The little boat looks funny behind the van but love the simplicity. Thanks:

      Ha Ha, when I'm towing it, I can't see it at all. I just have to "believe" it's still back there.

    I enjoyed the video. This reminded me of the time that I taught myself how to sail on a 9 foot Snark. I didn't know anyone that sailed, hadn't read a book on it, had never touched a sailboat. When I first inquired about the little boat I thought it was some strange looking canoe. The guy had the mast, rudder, and dagger board in his shop. I learned how to sail it by trial and error.... lots of errors. Nearly knocked myself out with the boom. Good thing it wasn't much of a boom. Dad filmed the entire fiasco with a shoulder mounted recorder, the technology back in those days. lol.

      Sounds awesome, you should dig up the old footage and post it. We had a shoulder fired RCA but I didn't start sailing till 40 LOL. I'm thinking about wearing my motorcycle helmet next time I go out 😄😂😅

    Enjoyed this, I picked up an old Sunfish for free, cleaned it up , trying to decide if I am up to sailing it a 69 years old.

      Nice, They're a lot of fun but they do provide quite a workout sometimes.

    Nice, love that you left in the beginning and the wind graphic. I keep daydreaming about one of these to take out instead of a canoe when the admiral wants to use her paddleboard, but already got a boat on a trailer plus that canoe so feels like that might be a bit much.

      Well Joe . . . You can't have too many boats 😃 One for each day of the week seems reasonable 😆

      Agree. Dinghies are dirt cheap. I have four of them, and they are a blast. Especially the planing dinghies. You catch about a 10 to 12 knot breeze and suddenly you're flying over the top of the water. I took my Cyclone to Lake Rhodhiss in October of 22. There was a stiff breeze out of the west which put me on a dead run and I covered four miles in about 15 minutes.

    That was awesome! It brought back memories of sailing sunfish as a kid. In fact that was the first boat people let me take out on my own without stealing it. I think that's why I love sailing to this day! We need more content Jason! Do you still have your other boat? Thanks for taking us along!....⛵⛵⛵

    I have a benetou wizz and it is a blast. These little race boats are a lot of work but well worth it. If you can sail a small race boat you can sail anything. Id love to try out a hobie 16 or 18.

    • @odysseyofjason
      @odysseyofjason  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, they keep you on your toes for sure. I sail on lakes a lot so it's almost always gusty. I've been looking for a deal on a Hobie myself. I've never sailed one but I know it would be fun.

    As someone that started sailing about the same time I can tell you this. Let the sail flap and turn the boat into the wind to take off

    Just one thing brother….ditch the plastic water bottle. They just end up in the lake.

      Going for the water bottle is how I get more wind. It never fails. As soon as I pick up the bottle and unscrew the cap a big gust hits.
