This might be a hot take, but I’ve played every mainline ac game, and surprisingly, valhalla is the one I enjoyed the most. It exceeded my expectations. Love Eivor's character, the flyting and orlog mini-games, the settlement building, the raids, and the combat, which is definitely better than all of its predecessors.
Nice list but im really surprised that nothing from this list matches mine :D (still I understand why you picked those things) AC1 Different cities AC2 Assassin training (we spend over half of the game learning from zero what it means to be an assassin and only after all of this we joins them) ACB side characters like Machiavelli and main antagonist ACR Altair and Ezio endings AC3 Something different and new (also running on trees :D ) AC4 Edward not joining assassins till the very end (stayed true to his character and good development) Rouge Lizbon (this is my favorite mission from whole series) Unity Betrayal and fight with your master Syndicate black box missions Origins hard one to pick one but I will go with how invested in the revenge Bayak is Odyssey cult of the Kosmos being everywhere from mercenaries, to kings of Sparta, they were controling everything Valhalla Viking raids Mirage didnt played yet
2:16 this line this makes me happy especially when hearing for someone who is from a western country 🥲I’m a Muslim btw so that there isn’t any confusion
the fact that we have not gotten a reverse rouge is criminal, to see a templar join the assassins would be such a cool game imo, as long as they make it smilar to pre origins whit a more heavy stealth and arkham combat
Yoooo love that idea!! Would love to see a Templar reformed trying to atone for their sins by rising up the Assassin Ranks. Maybe there could be an option near the finale of the game where you can choose to once more betray your order and rejoin the Templars, playing it like you’ve been acting as a double-agent the whole time, or you choose to stay loyal to the Assassins? I don’t know if that would work, but just an idea :) Edit to add: I know that wouldn’t work because of the rules (the Animus is always strictly historically accurate to what happened with each Assassin), but since you can choose whether to play as Alexios or Kassandra in Odyssey, or make Eivor male or female in Valhalla, and each game has a canonical option, it could be made like that?
I hate combat with swords, knives, fists etc, close combat to say so so I never beat any of AC games, can you please tell me, is there a AC game you can fully beat with bows and arrows?
@@GuINES-mGorigins, oddessy, and Valhalla put a strong emphasis on the bows. Origins especially probably could be mostly beaten with a bow. There are some staged boss fights though
I was honestly so suprised at how engaging and deep the homestead was. When i first played it, i expected it to just be a gimmick that gives you passive benefits but it was so dynamic and engaging that i found myself actually caring about everyone in that place and managing/growing it. I always kept going back to it in between every mission just to check up on people and i always had something i could do to actually impact the place and people in game. It wasn't just a menu managemnet system that is disguised as a hideout.
I'd have to disagree with Odyssey's cities not feeling unique or different. Athens is a standout, and most of the islands have some amazing looking cities. Some showcase the breathtaking work the Greeks performed with marble, while others have mud and dirt all over. I agree with pretty much everything you said. The Cult of Kosmos is easily one of the most terrifying groups in the franchise. Their hold on Greece was quite literally in every aspect of the world.
My guy. I've been around since forever and usually don't comment on your videos. But I have to say you are by far THE best Assassin's Creed TH-cam channel out there. I hope You will never stop doing these videos you truly are a blessing to the fans. Thank you
Finally a video talking about the positives, everyone always wants to poke at the bad shit, I'm glad to see your not one of them. You're a cautious admirer of the series
Origins' open world is the most alive of any AC yet. Every NPC including animals had schedules and was also dynamic in how they react to eachother and the environment. Even enemy convoys actually transport loot throughout the open world and aren't just static and the fact that there's a dynamic predator and prey mechanic for animals. Guards also recated to dead bodies by carrying them away, had guard schedules and just seemed like they live in the world. The only issue was that the player character had no dynamic way to interact with these systems besides traverse and attack. It felt like im watching a livining/breathing world but was limited when it comes to how i can interact with it, mostly because UBI are so afraid of grounding mechanics in their games, they never want to make you feel like you exist in the world, but on it. This game would have benefited so much from light survival and interaction mechanics that had you need to actually engage with all the systems in the open world.
I'd say for AC1, the ambition of the world was so new to gaming. The Ezio trilogy, I'd pick the cities and vast expanses of the renaissance world. The advances they made to the combat and movement were great. In AC3, I loved the setting and the frontier with its added ability of hunting and then the beginning of the sailing missions. Black Flag, would have to be the pirate life in the Carribean. Freedom Cry- Adawale, 'nuff said. Dude was absolutely awesome. Unity, the co-op experience and improved parkour made the game interesting, as well as the outfits and dyes. Syndicate had Victorian London in a dense world and while the grappling hook was a bit of a cheat for moving about, it made traversing the city more palatable. Origins was an amazing rendition of the Egyptian world during its most notable time (Cleopatra and Caesar). Odyssey had a beautiful world in one of the most notable settings in history- classical Greece. The land and sea were beautiful and vibrant. Valhalla had beautiful landscapes and a great depth to the viking culture. I never played Mirage, but I've heard its portrayal of Bagdad was incredible.
Yep absolutely agree about AC Revelations. That was an astounding experiance and even after so many years it sill hit me in the feels, just now - when I see and HEAR this game and the scenes.
What I absolutely adore in AC II - aside from the obvious, that is Ezio himself - is the feel of mistery. Here I think about the brotherhood, Templars (and their plots), Abstergo, these weird symbols and the riddles connected to it. All of that created a grand mistery and I love it! That one part is unmatched! Granted I was basically a kid back then and it prolly helped my imagination but it was very cool anyway.
Maybe not absolute favorites list but highlights about each one I like to mention! (Not going to do every game cuz its not my video haha) AC1: Overall presentation (blending of all the elements:dialogue, theme, music, gameplay, city design, etc!) AC2: Soundtrack! (Maybe because i was 14 when it came out, they say the music you like at 13-15 becomes to most nostalgic lol) Valhalla: Stealth variety (specifically how the variation shows itself if you invest some time into it: Could be lethal or ghosting) Mirage: Agreed that its the stealth! Not just solid mechanically but FUN! So much that it got me from just playing AC to content creation lol
I was done with AC around thirty hours into Valhalla. I don't think I have the time or inclination for more, unless some major switch up happens; but I always like your videos, and thoughts. My personal engagement with the series is currently having fun revisiting Revelations, and actually exploring creative options with the bombs... something that I think was pushed heavy, but gave no real impetus to pursue due to basic mission design, and the waste of time concocting the things in the first place.
The whole persona thing from liberation sorta came back in mirage, where there are 2 missions where you have to use a disguise and play as different people, not really the same as liberation but it’s similar
Dude the setting in AC1 is the BEST! Hanging around the Holy Land is such a vibe. I hope for a remake with modern controls and mechanics. I am just starting AC2 and so far Italy is less interesting to me. I think Constaninople will be more my cup of tea 🤞🏻
Been to Monterggioni last year - it's underwhelming. Place is really small, you will find no familiar landmark there. Only the architecture is familiar (obviously) but so it is in almost entire Italy. Rome, Florence and San Gimignano on the other hand - breathtaking.
I always found it funny that Ezio stronghold was Monteriggioni, cause it's technically in the province of Siena (my hometown) and Siena and Firenze had historically a big, big rivalry - and Monteriggioni was constantly fought between them
It's nice to see that they used kinda same "sign" for templars in newer AC. I can see on Shay's belt something like a "coin" representing tree, that is introduced in Vallhala like tree of Yiggdrasi'l, "braches" of the templars
Ac 1 is underrated af, if you ignore the repetitiveness of the missions and how short the game is, the gameplay is fun, good setting, good story, Altair is a badass character, has my favorite soundtrack and the game had a darker midevil tone compared to most of them. Obviously the game is a little outdated so if they do a remake hopefully they do it right and don’t ruin it
Visited Monteriggioni a few years ago when I did my own Ezio tour to Florence and Venice. You can catch a bus there from Florence bus station if you don't have your own transport, takes about 90 minutes. There is no villa, but you can definitely recognise the layout from the game, though the real place isn't as big. They even have a small shop where you can buy AC memorabilia such as coffee mugs. I aim at some point to visit all the major locations featured in the series, excluding probably Baghdad and the places in the middle east... Which game has the best soundtrack should be your next vid
Been to Monteriggioni two or three years ago. I really liked it but there aren't a lot of things to do there except going on the medieval walls and enjoying the view.
I'd say Attention to Detail for AC3. I don't know, that game feels the most detailed and passionate the franchise has ever been, different from modern money-sucking Ubisoft.
Think you could come up with the best and worst thing for each of the Chronicles games? Sorry I talk about these games a lot but it's interesting hearing others' opinions and these games are different with being 2D games.
Love how humble and down to earth this guy is man. So few people on the internet are willing to admit they’re uneducated on a certain topic. Love that he speaks to what he knows and leaves the rest alone
AC: For the time, it was really well done in recreating the cities as historically accurate as possible AC II: Besides Ezio, I would go with Venice AC: Brotherhood: Recruiting Assassins, sending them on missions and let them help you kill enemies AC: Revelations: Yusuf AC III: The variety of landscapes AC Liberation: The bayou AC IV: Black Flag: Yeah, I could say being a pirate as a whole but that's pretty much a given, so I will just say shanties AC Freedom Cry: Freeing the slaves and trying to do it as stealthy as possible AC Rogue: Well, uh, you can play as a Templar (not a bad game though) AC Unity: Really nice progression of Arno. Feels very weak early on but by progressing you actually feel getting stronger and at the end nobody can stop Arno AC Syndicate: Yeah, WW I AC Origins: Also has Ancient/Classical-era Rome in it AC Odyssey: Greek mythology AC Valhallla: The fighting AC Mirage: Baghdad is stunning! Anyways, I'm surprised you didn't know that Monteriggioni is a real life location, even though you visit modern day Monteriggioni in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.
I personally love the dart gun in rogue because its such a cool feature, unlike in ac 4 and freedom cry where it is loud. In rogue it is like a mix of the blunderbuss and the darts from the previous games
Honestly I think that the cult of cosmos is really unappreciated, every time I felt lost or didin't want to do the main story I could always try to solve some of the clues and try to go on an assasination mission,*SPOILER* also I think I that the concept of Aspasia being the head of the cult was a good Idea, with a really absolutely horribly done execution. Just make her evil, non romancable, with less obvious clues, a better motive and give her an artifact for an epic boss fight and you've got an alright final cultist to complete the final experience.
Am I the only one who enjoyed the story in Valhalla? The pacing is horrible, but on paper it's an amazing story with so many connections to the older games, especially in the mythological parts. Not to mention, the soundtrack is phenomenal, even though that's a series staple.
UBI really have everything they need to make the best AC game ever! This is the same for even Farcy, many of their games have mechanics that if most were added into a single game, it would elevate it to legendary status. But their development method of splitting their workforce into teams that work on different games, almost in the same development cycle, really hinders this. This is why even if they have a number of games released more consistently, none of them borrow the things that worked in previous entries and because the creativity is split and rushed, the innovation is very limited. I understand from a business perspective why they do it, but every now and then they should consolidate everything into a single masterpiece game, whose success they can ride on for the next decade while smaller teams make seperate smaller entries and spinoffs.
Ac 1 ac 2 brotherhood and revelations are the best and everything in them is the best . Music voice acting animations gameplay history setting.. everything.. flawless assassins.. Altair and ezio are the legends.
I loved your videos and your opinion about Assassins Creed but you line about Jerusalem the capital of”Palestine” bro if you love history you wouldn’t say that sorry but I not give a hand someone who tells lies, now before some propaganda people try to criticize me i tell you that Jerusalem was independent era that why muslim and Christian was fight on her and the Christians has won in beginning. After 100 years Salh A Din has won Jerusalem(assassins creed 1 story).
AC brotherhood The best thing for me has to be the "brotherhood" How you could call them mid combat How you coukd upgrade them and custumize them It was just perfect
If you can guess the exact date I made this video. I will give you a copy of AC Shadows. This ends in a week.
clue: it's not 2025
Why i can't feel ac like old days

@Thehiddenone690 20th of may 2024 😅
Thanks for the shout out dude! Fantastic content as always, although I think I’m even more intrigued to hear what your “worst” parts of AC are! 🤙
As an italian who visited it, yes, Monteriggioni is beautiful as in the game but very VERY different from ACII.
AC1 - Mysterious Story
AC2 - Peak Action
Brotherhood - Leonardo Missions
Revelations - Parkour Missions
AC3 - Attention to Detail
AC4 - The Soundtrack
Rogue - Slightly Improved Naval Combat
Unity - The Assassin Council
Syndicate - Portrayal of Victorian London
Origins - "Bosses" (Phylakes, Elephants, etc.)
Odyssey - Battles
Valhalla - Eivor looks like Ragnar
Mirage - Stealth Sequences
Nice list but im really surprised that nothing from this list matches mine :D (still I understand why you picked those things)
AC1 Different cities
AC2 Assassin training (we spend over half of the game learning from zero what it means to be an assassin and only after all of this we joins them)
ACB side characters like Machiavelli and main antagonist
ACR Altair and Ezio endings
AC3 Something different and new (also running on trees :D )
AC4 Edward not joining assassins till the very end (stayed true to his character and good development)
Rouge Lizbon (this is my favorite mission from whole series)
Unity Betrayal and fight with your master
Syndicate black box missions
Origins hard one to pick one but I will go with how invested in the revenge Bayak is
Odyssey cult of the Kosmos being everywhere from mercenaries, to kings of Sparta, they were controling everything
Valhalla Viking raids
Mirage didnt played yet
Also I wrote this comment before watching whole video so some of the stuff I might have same as main guy up there :D
you know a game is bad if the best thing about it is that the main character looks like a cooler character from a completely different story.
i was born and raised in Damascus, It's magical ✨️
Last time I was this early lisbon was still shaking (thanks shay😍)
2:16 this line this makes me happy especially when hearing for someone who is from a western country 🥲I’m a Muslim btw so that there isn’t any confusion
Funny enough,Google lists Jerusalem as both the capital of Israel AND Palestine...somewhat humorous that.
the fact that we have not gotten a reverse rouge is criminal, to see a templar join the assassins would be such a cool game imo, as long as they make it smilar to pre origins whit a more heavy stealth and arkham combat

Worse is that we saw multiple Assasins joining templars but i dont recall anything in reverse. This is weird to me
I love syndicate, origns, odyssey, and vahalla
I hate combat with swords, knives, fists etc, close combat to say so so I never beat any of AC games, can you please tell me, is there a AC game you can fully beat with bows and arrows?
@GuINES-mG probably not

AC3 - The Homestead Missions.
I would have loved the game more if its entirety was focused on the Homestead.

13:50 I know she wasn’t a protagonist, but Altair’s wife Maria went from Templar to assassin
I always loved the Venice rooftops soundtrack in AC2 during one of the carnival missions. Great video as always, keep up the good work!👍

I personally love the dart gun in rogue because its such a cool feature, unlike in ac 4 and freedom cry where it is loud. In rogue it is like a mix of the blunderbuss and the darts from the previous games
how dare youtube hide this from me for 3 hours
Damascus is not "one of the oldest cities" it’s literally THE oldest city.
The hidden one says something positive about Valhalla? What did you do with the real hidden one?

I must be the only person that likes the tower defense in ACR.
My favorite city in AC Origins has to be Memphis ngl
Agree with almost everything❤️
Ac 1 ac 2 brotherhood and revelations are the best and everything in them is the best . Music voice acting animations gameplay history setting.. everything.. flawless assassins.. Altair and ezio are the legends.
I noticed it when you said "Assassin's creed Red" so might be like December 13th 2023
Am i the only one who liked the tower defense 😅😂 and the assassin assist has been my favorite ability in the series
For me the best in Odyssey is entire map, because I love ancient Greece haha

If it ever happens we’ll call it Assassin’s Creed: Redemption
Hey Hidden One, do you ever get flagged for using the game music?
I did once for AC3 soundtracks, and that was a year ago, but ever since nope
Hot take may by IDK

Absolutely loved it tho

It seems you didn't like Chronicles at all?))
I never understood why ppl hate the Tower defense in AC rev. Do you guys just suck at tower defense?
ac brotherhood > ac black flag > ac 2
