As a HUGE Ac lore guy this put a huge smile on my face!! There is so much amazing lore in this series which keeps growing with every game and I love when people take the time to actually read it and look at it!! Another Great video my friend👏🏼🔥Keep it up!!
The codex really was Altair wholes story that could have been made into at least another 2-3 games. There was so much good lore back then and I feel that you and the Spaniard have been reading my lore comments on your videos lol, people miss the detailed lore of Assassins Creed and they don't have that anymore, it's very interesting how Altair's story had less to do with pieces of eden and more to do with how much he had achieved, he really is a legend, great video man :)
@@Hidden_Creed That's because they are not focused on making video games about history anymore, history was always a cool thing about the first Assassins Creeds games, now they are going in a different direction that can't capture the old lore of Assassins Creed so they have to often result to pulling things from thing air and then it becomes lore breaking.
25:52 In God of War 2 the Golden Fleece is a special item you find that lets you parry anything and then return the damage at enemies. As a magic weapon created by gods it would make sense to have a similar counterpart in AC. Or could just be a neat reference.
The island that is mentioned on page 26 is Cyprus, I forget where but in another game it is mentioned how there is a vault somewhere on the isle of Cyprus
I may be wrong, but i feel somewhere is mentioned that Altair or one of his sons made a second journey to Cyprus (may be books, hevent read them in years). Which is also connected to Barbarigos in second game, where Silvio and Date try to get to ship (but get assassinated by Ezio) which didnt get stopped, so it sails to Cyprus from Arsenal in Venice to retrieve found apple from the island (in this case Cyprus) Altair heard rumors about secret treasury. .
@@nekipeh7373 Yes, I had in mind that the apple Ezio steals to Rodrigo in AC2 was the very same apple we see in AC1, hidden in Cyprus by Altair or one of his sons. I also remembered that Altair hiding the apple in Cyprus was the storyline of Bloodlines, but am I wrong ? Anyway, the apple hidden under Masyaf is another one that Altair found during his exile from the brotherhood.
It’s videos like this that’s why I love this Chanel. I love the AC games I’ve always been grabbed by the stories but was too young to really get into grips with the side content and hidden content inside the games. Seeing videos like this reminds me why I love assassins creed so much and all the older games
So Altair’s child was the one who defeated Ganghis Kan?! 🤔 I feel like that would be an awesome game, we could play as his child now grown up, being sent on this mission by Altair himself. There’s so much they could explore here in terms of lore, and we would get to see Altair again and interact with him.
Its more of a collaborative effort between altair, maria, one of the assassins(i cant remember who he is but he is related to one the ac2 tombs missions ) and altair's sons
It's so funny now to watch Altair theorize that the conflict between the assassins and templars has been going on alot longer when we now know for a fact it most definitely was (the hidden ones vs order of ancients). It's like...no duh, dude. Did you really think yal were the first? And in the end,its honestly a fight over to extremes of the human condition: absolute control vs absolute freedom
About the island, in Altair's last memory in Revelations, he tells his son "If you are asked, say that i sent the apple away. Tell them i sent it to Cyprus or Cipango, or that i dropped it into the sea". Cyprus and Cipango (Japan) are both islands. Meaning it's only a lie to keep people away from the Masyaf library where the apple really is.
Great video! One of the story telling elements that I loved about the codex is that parts of the backstory are filled in while still leaving room for mystery. And this is okay! Not everything requires an explanation.
Need a video on how Bayek's original creed that he laid out for the brotherhood is different from the Altair's that he later modified (if there is any difference). Just a comparison or sort of a argument on how both these important figures uniquely changed/affected the Assassin's brotherhood.
Love these lore videos so much keep it up👍🏻 I was recently playing black flag and I decided to hack all the computers in the modern day and found the lore to be really interesting. Maybe a cool future video idea could be to explore this lore. We get lots of info regarding Vidic during the 1980s and the whole subject zero story which is quite unnerving. Also an interview with Subject 1 is really interesting and the Desmond memos!
Thanks for doing this analysis! And I'm glad you incorporated Bloodlines as well, which deserves a remake or at the very least a remaster to PC and Consoles. The lore of this franchise is very important. But Ubisoft Quebec in charge now means that it will be further compromised than they already did with Odyssey. This is why the proper lore of the series needs to be remembered and catalogued and talked about.
It’s really interesting that you have to go through Altair’s codex to understand why the templars mindset is flawed. Exactly why I started playing these games. Edit: just realized that Jesus in ac was a sage. Crazy work tying things up perfectly.
It would've been cool if we had gotten a trilogy with Altair, like we did with Ezio. And in regards to Ezio, well, I wish that instead of a short film that showed how Ezio's life ended, that we would've gotten one final game with him, this time with game mechanics actually reflecting his age. For example, in Revelations, he still ran, climbed, and everything else just as fast as he did in the in AC 2 and Brotherhood, even though the diolgue implied otherwise, because at the start of the game Ezio was 53 and 56 at the end, and thus it made Revelations feel rather inconsistent. One thing that always kinda bugged me when the original game came out was how Altair was the only guy speaking with an American accent when everyone else spoke with a Middle-Eastern accent. I'm surprised that the game developers didn't consider that when making the first game.
Now since you mentioned last page in the codex with the Altair seeking to avoid the death or to delay it I remembered Valhalla with Loki/Basim, also the object 16 and how his mind was trapped while the body is dead. Could the Altair/his mind somehow survive and be somewhere? Like in the apple or those memory artifacts shown in Revelations. Could ubisof ever return to this topic? Man they still can milk the old series with latest introduced lore xD
By Altair's time everyone knew the world was a sphere. Hell, the ancient Greeks knew the world was not only a sphere, but they knew the exact size of the Earth. The only thing people didn't realize was that there were two massive continents west of Europe.
The sages are a reincarnation of the ISU scientist Aita. He was married to Juno, and they had a plan to comeback and take over the world, opposing the other ISU like Odin who were trying to comeback as well with similar technology. During the great catastrophe, the ISU were actually in a civil war with each other and both sides has plans to reincarnate themselves with different technology because they knew they would not survive the end. Desmond is only the "chosen one" because Juno and other ISU wanted him to be so they could come back. When he touched the orb in the temple, shielding the earth, he freed Juno. It was all just a plot in their ISU feud.
Its wild to think how much ac lore i based on these texts or atleast i dont think they ever imagine hidden ones or order of the ancient at that time since ac was suppose to end afther 3rd game
Great work man but I have a question about the timeline rn. The new chapter for assassins creed forgotten temple had gave me a little confusion of the lore timeline. so I was wondering if you could clarify the timeline?
any chance anyone knows when the hidden ones became the assassins or how it happened? Feels like they're leaving that open for a game unless they told that story in a book or strange mini movie somewhere.
Man altair talking about religions having too many similarities like rebirth, kinda makes me think that it may have been a sage who used the apple of eden or pieces early on in human history to attempt to bring his the isu back. If you believe al mualim was a sage, then him knowing jesus wasn't actually turning things into wine makes sense as those are memories of a past life that aita could remember. Now i dont think it necessarily means that ac2 was setting up sages that early but it could be reworked that way to where altair ponders why these religions have so many similarities and even include rebirth, like the sages.
It's frustrating when people stay negative, claiming how Ubisoft stopped caring about the franchise. Bro, the newer games are filled with just as much lore. Just say you don't like the direction they went in. Meanwhile, I like all the AC games (new and old).
@jackhilton419 not even close, their story are mid af and that's being generous (with the exception of Origins that had a good story but terrible missions, voice acting and dialog)
Such a shame that the original writers are no longer part of the series, corporations only care about making a profit instead of delivering a message, transmitting something, i hope Shadows can change that once it comes out and can actually tell a compelling story about what's most important about Assassin's Creed... The Creed itself
شيخ الأزهر الحرب is grammatically wrong and doesn't have a meaning as far as I know Maybe it does but as an Egyptian it doesn't ring a bill especially how grammatically wrong it is Probably just a lazy unfinished concept where putting Arabic words that seems like an Easter egg After all most western games do these stupid things especially when it comes to Arab or Islamic culture

To be fair there is still plenty of detailed lore within the series but just not as packed as it was at least for the older games IMO!

Yeah now AC is a myth game. They confuse history (proven events) for myths (fairy tales)
I love when someone explain such things were too lazy to analyze by our selves
Thanks for this video
My pleasure!

Another W vid from the hidden one. You always put a lot of effort into these lore vids, love it.
Wow, fantastic video bro, so cool to see each page broken down like this. Honestly I completely forgot about the codex after all these years :).

There was a comic about it if I rememeber correctly

Was it Ghengis or Kublai?

i mean the truth puzzles were already very clear that the conflict was around since cain and able
This was a well put together video my friend
love your videos man, lore videos are my favourite especially assassins creed and i can tell you put plenty of time and effort into these videos.
Was waiting for this! Until now, there was only 1 vid abt the codex in yt
Absolutely phenomenal bro. Thank you!

Best AC channel ❤❤😊😊

These types of Video are really appreciated so more lore vids would be cool
Great video dude 🔥
Interesting and original video. Thanks!
bro i love your content you should definitely work at Ubisoft as a Lore master for the series!

i just finished replaying AC1 and this vid drops, THE timing.
Babe wake up Hidden One just cooked another masterpiece
Cool idea for a video would be to explore importarnt people who were close associates of the Templars or Order of the Ancients like king Arthur

Appreciate it even if you support a dead club
@ ahh fairs you got me with that one😂 replying the AC games is a nice distraction from watching Arsenal matches at the moment

I'd love for them to revisit this
ThePatientWolf has some of the best storytelling abilities especially when it comes to ac lore!
Yeah he's incredible!
People knew the world was round centuries before Altair's time
Some people. Just was learning this in world history.

Very goodest video
You really took time from your life to find this and explain this all? I could never notice all of this even tho i have played AC 2 several times now
someone gotta do it

Either that of reincarnated ISU like Odin, Loki etc.

i love this
Oh this just came out?
31:52 "Ibin la ahad" in arabic means "The son of no one"
Bayek was Marx and Altair was Lenin

I wish Assassin's creeed stayed this interesting, the fall off is insane.
The lore was crazy back then. And there's so much more hidden away
Now the games more about "gender-choosing, non-assassin, loot box armour grinding, choice making" bullshit😂
As much as I like Assassins Creed, some of the lore is so cringey, it’s like a Dan Brown novel very unoriginal and fake ‘deep’ imo
