Tesla voice commands have improved in the 50.1 update I got yesterday.
He mentioned that in the beginning of the video. He wants there to be more voice commands.
My Tesla can only unterstand english since that Update. Live in Germany and everything in the settings is configured German. Seems that something went wrong again in this Update...
Also my car often doesnt hear anything at all but also had this Problem before the Update.
My Tesla m3 voice recognition is getting worse after the update.
It will not listen more than three commands.

Got Danish as language with the upgrade - but Danish voice commands are not working at all.
I could make do with English if it wasn't for the street and city names being impossible to 'Englishify' in a way the car recognizes.
So it is pretty useless.
Even With Tesla 2019.40.50.1 and new functions, the MG is way better as it repeats the command audio. With Tesla you have to visually look to see if the command is correctly executed, taking your eyes off the road

There are quite a few voice commands in the new Tesla firmware. "Open the glove box" worked. Other's that worked: "Adjust the driver side mirror," "turn on the drivers side seat heater," "set temperature to 68 degrees," "wipers on," and "set air conditioning to automatic." When you try a voice command, some of them respond with "do not understand", but others return "not available yet", like "turn headlights on," "tune radio to 90.1" and "open the pod bay door HAL."
My hands down favorite with the latest Tesla software-update:
Windshield wipers voice commands.
When the droid not listening she start to enter angry mode LOL cute :)
The first minute is interesting but afterwards is very dull. But Bjørn and his wife amused very well.

MG really can understand a lot of commands. Thanks to wifey to help share how well it works in Thai. Seems like it likes Thai better than English.
On other notes:
I admit the auto-generated captions are A+ "come eat... blah blah crap".
I'm sure the windows commands can be added for model 3. I tried roll down the windows and gave Unknown. But I also tried Save Dashcam and it was "Unsupported at this time". I'm pretty sure most new voice commands will be added on the fly, seemed like an internet connection was required to process. Model 3 can do recirculation on. I'm sure it will be more stable next week when you can try in MC Hammer.
Model X front doors and glovebox are also currently unsupported

@@CoolSilver I'm not sure, valet mode disables it, but just because it is electronic disabled and actuated doesn't mean the car can send the signal on its own if the relay is only controlled by the button and the car just kills the power
@@Cloxxki they aren't manual though, they're electronic in nature. Every Model X has some level of autopilot, Elon was still saying how AP1 would meet you at the front door in the morning like a prototypical Smart Summon. Model S on the other hand...

Ask and you shall receive -- update for Tesla just came out with voice control for most features (Scott Kubo did a great review of ones he could make work -- check it out). But it's really nice to see another company than Tesla doing innovations like voice commands ... that work.
Bjørn says "Em Geh" and it doesn't work, then Wifey says "Em Deed" and it works right away. I have to say the defrost on and off seems to be the coolest since opening the window is not something one would do normally except when getting takeaway :)
In Thailand you open and close the window somewhat frequently:
1. When entering and exiting malls where you have to pick up and receive a card.
2. When paying cash at toll roads.
3. When entering and exiting condos.
4. When passing through police checkpoints.
5. When buying fruits at stoplights.

With the release to the Indian market with English voice command... Is there a chance this is added through a software update? Still not sure as it would mean the car needs to be able to handle different voice recognition based on an non-existing setting (at least as yet) + could require more storage space than available to have both the English + Thai models... still hope to see that happening!
Question for you Bjørn or other viewers living in Thailand with this car: when you were in Bangkok did the air conditioner helped to cope with the baking sun over the sunroof? Wondering if the backseats remain comfortable...

There should be a button on the steering wheel to activate the voice command.
After living with google home in my "smart" house , I would claim that most functions is better executed with a button available.
Operating slightly advanced tasks by voice command usually turnes out to be far more frustrating and mentaly challeging than pressing a button or navigating the touch screen.

Voice recognition without excellent accuracy is unfortunately a feature that gets very old very quickly as users give up on it.

Can the voice command feature open only the driver’s side window, say if you’re at a tollbooth, and you have to put coins in a hopper to release the toll gate, or if you’re entering a car park where you take a ticket when you enter, pay the amount you owe when you return to your car, then put the ticket in the exit barrier?
Actually wifey sat on driver side seat, and when Bjørn tried again for last time, it only opens the driver side window 😁

Looks like after each voice command active 4G data traffic. I suspect voice recognition works through some cloud analytics. Is it possible to turn off car data service and then check how works voice commands?

It is strange that Tesla has not added this long time ago, my old Prius from 2006 had voice commands.
Tesla also had voice commands. Now they just added many more and changed the speech recognition engine.

It can only understand Thai. But the infotainment language is set to English (Thai is also available).
The Indian version has them in English..
