Michael has done amazing work on the podcast front with his successful show “Inside Of You with Michael Rosenbaum”. His show is a big inspiration behind Katee doing her own. Katee and Michael discuss casting, relationships, and the business in general. Michael gives a very detailed explanation on why he did not return as Lex Luther in Smallville. Michael also talks about close connections with the people he meets across conventions and shows. It is a very inspiring and heartfelt conversation.

What I love most about Michael Rosenbaum is how REAL he is. Very down to earth and not with the nonsense.

Michael Rosenbaum's journey in Smallville over the 7 year run has been the best. Also his voice acting in the DCAU just incredible. My favorite is always going to be The Great Brain Robbery episode with the whole switching of the minds between Clancy Browns Lex Luthor and Rosenbaum's Wally West. Just seeing Brown and Rosenbaum imitating each other is quite hilarious and also Rosenbaum playing Lex Luthor in live action in the Smallville show just awesome.
The power of being genuine is so underrated in the world of TH-cam, Twitch, Twitter/X, etc. Thank you for being you!

I really have fallen in love with this podcast. You taking cues from Michael and his podcast is partially the reason why. Such a great open and honest vibe. Your wonderful personality doesn't hurt either! Keep up the wonderful work both here and on the new Mando movie.
Great interview! Michael's work on SMALLVILLE holds up decades later, and it's a wonderful testament to his work that so many people consider him the best live-action Luthor. He played a really dark and intense character for seven years (and he got even darker during the final two seasons), so I can imagine the toll it might've taken.
He is the only Lex Luthor I ever thought did it justice. Smallville is one of my favorite shows.
After he left the show it was still good but not the same, not as good. I always saw Smallville as the origin of both Superman AND Lex Luthor and loved that they were best friends first but Lex’s need to know everything is what ruined that relationship. It was so awesome.
Don't watch TV much at all so I had no idea who Michael Rosenbaum is. What a great guest!! Love the guy. And my God, that voice. This episode was fantastic from start to finish. Very organic and honest. Bravo!
You need to listen to Inside of You his podcast, he is amazing, he definitely has a voice for the radio!

Rosenbaum is absolutely the best Lex. I wish he would have finished out the remaining seasons of Smallville, but he had his reasons for not doing that and you gotta respect that. Anyway, good episode, Katee!

I have not heard many real conversations with celebrities before I found Michael's podcast. And now this. I grew up in Europe in the 70s and 80s, but I identify with a lot of what was said and I have come to the same conclusions as presented here. The craving for validation from my father took me decades to get over. Being more picky when choosing a partner as we get older, the need to feel right otherwise it's not worth the time...

P.S. Katee, we met in passing at the LAX airport back in 2008. I think I was not sure where to go, so I moved out of your way and smiled. You smiled back and said thank you. My knees buckled since I was a huge fan of Battlestar, but I played it cool and pretended like you were 'just' a pretty lady. :D
I really enjoyed this episode. It was great to see Rosenbaum on the other side of the interview. Katee is a natural. She has a great vibe, very disarming. You can see why Rosenbaum opened up so much. The interview came off very conversational. I watched this & then Katee on Inside You.

Guys this was emotional for me. I know I'm opening myself up for judgment here but .....
The whole thing about "life is short" touched me. A little over a year ago I faced a near death heart condition. Decided to get a divorce because I'd been miserable for YEARS. Now I'm living a new chapter and finding joy in the new people around me. Just wanted to thank you for content that I can really connect with.
Michael is one of the best podcasters in the world, he's on the same level as Kev Smith and Joe Rogan imo. Simply because he doesn't really filter himself and is always genuine. This podcast have the same vibe and I love it!

Definitely my favorite. Sure he had 7 years and a great team around him to kill it but still. There is something about the way he played Lex that resonates with me. More than other Live action Lex's. Makes me hopeful that we get a that Smallville animated project on day.

Late to the party but if Michael actually reads the comments on his interview, I just wanted to say that his Lex Luthor portrayal was the first time I saw Lex as a person who honestly saw himself as a nice, good guy. The character was great.

Spending time at my friend's house, sometimes for the whole afternoon or a day, having lunch there, and so on, is something I finally understood how my mom felt about when I got my own kids.
I'm always really confused why bottled water is such a stumbling block for people. Just get a thermos. Fill it up with water. There's a million places to fill things with water.

Another great episode, it's funny how he said about it being like therapy, because I was actually watching this thinking wow Katee could be a great therapist! I love the idea of being genuine and not afraid to be yourself, I think it is why I enjoy these so much.

Ok. So as an old guy who was a fan of, and saw the original BSG in the theater, I've been a fan since, like most people of my generation, since you convinced me that a woman could be a better Starbuck than Dirk. So much better. You literally broadened my horizons as an old white guy, and I thank you for that. And Longmire. Please. That show should have had 20 seasons.
That being said, my kid streams, I do sound and voice work, and I work in IT with alot of other content providers, so it's a family affair and part of my vocation.
You, and your show, are doing great. Especially for how short of a time it's been out there with as many competitors as you have. You have all of the physical/technical elements in place which is what gets people to watch past that first few minutes. You are engaging. You have interesting guests. Your thumbnails are on point and you have most of the elements necessary to catch the algorithm (there's so much math and stupidity to capturing the notice of the algorthim that has nothing to do with talent or great content).
The rest will take a little time to get in the groove. Michael is right. You need to find your niche beyond fans like myself and I think you're well on your way. The sponsors will come. And I've subscribed, which I don't tend to do because I don't want the altorithm to pidgeon hole me with the suggestion engine. So you conviced me with your content, not just with who you are.
This was a great interview, and I've watched several others and I wish you the best. Keep at it. I'll keep watching and recommending.

I have watched a couple of your interviews and it flows well... Stay connected with yourself and present. Some will connect, some won't and that's okay... No need to publish those.
As for asking the deep powerful questions...what I have noticed is that the more you are fully present to the moment and genuinely curious about the other person, the more likely somewhat is willing to take their masks off and share.
We all love being heard...the challenge is feeling like the other person is truly listening rather than trying to get the scoop or something in return.
The questions will come to you but what matters most is the energy that comes with the words. We all know when someone is not truly listening.
Be you.... Be willing to be fully you and still not connect with the other person.. It's okay... We aren't meant to connect with everyone.
It is that kinda of vulnerability that opens the door for dropping masks and sharing in full transparency.

I'm 100% sure my mum has ADHD, but she is struggling with the idea. I'm autistic, and it's still fairly new to me...I was diagnosed in 2020. It's been a real struggle for me coming to terms with it.

Loved BSG’s approach to female characters. Show . Don’t tell. Nobody had a problem with a Starbuck gender swap because there was no preachy message. Just a great character . Period. My fave tv show of all time. You were awesome.
