    Bryce Dallas Howard is one of MY FAVORITE directors working at Lucasfilm right now, always have been a fan of hers. 💙Can't freaking wait for her Skeleton Crew episode(s), she really knows how to do different things with Star Wars that are done to innovate the franchise and bring a touch of nostalgia; her balance of both is absolutely phenomenal.

    Here is another anecdote about how amazing Jon Favreau is: I used to work at a restaurant owned by Joe Russo- Favreau came in several times. Once he came in with his sons and wife and I waited on them. They were so gracious, personable, and kind. Tipped VERY well. They treated me like a person who was worth speaking to instead of someone who was ‘just the help’. I left that day thinking- he deserves all the success he has achieved because he is a fantastic person. His wife was so fun. His sons were great. Loved them. Kindness RULES.

    • @haloed-hero
      @haloed-hero ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@charisma-hornum-fries there’s a flipside to that perspective, and for me it’s that kindness is appreciated and treasured in general. I think even in the late 90s/early 2000s where the world wasn’t as bleak and more simplistic, genuine kindness would be applauded or appreciated. Kindness as I’ve learned over the years can change the dynamic of so many situations.

    Please talk more about the business aspect of the industry. Roughly around the 35:00 mark you two were discussing taking home 1/5 of your paycheck and Bryce mentioned working overseas and getting paid more in tax rebates instead of cash. That kind of stuff is fascinating to me because it's so unknown and I'm sure I'm not the only one who finds it interesting. For schmucks like me in the peanut gallery, we only get exposure to whatever the finished project is in the entertainment industry, would really love to know more about the inner workings of "the machine."
    A great example would be later on when Katee talked about the typical tv shoot being 8 days with 2-3 takes and that's it. As trivial and uninteresting as that probably is to insiders, that's really interesting stuff to outsiders.
    Would also really love to hear talk about what you and your guests think about AI's (artificial intelligence) impact on your industry.

    I love this format! In many ways us viewers are like a fly on the wall. Anything is possible. No particular time restraint. It's just two people talking, and the conversation can go anywhere, and relate to how we all relate to each other. It is really Wonderful! I know you are early in this, and the show will probably change over time, but what you've got right here is already quite something.
    Thank you for this. I really enjoy Katee. She is a brilliant conversationalist/interviewer, and funny enough because of the mechanics of the show she is a great interviewee as well. Having Katee not just interview in this case Bryce, but also throw in her own two cents in relating to her guest is different than most interview type shows. It's not like most interview shows, it is more like a conversation between two friends, or two people becoming friends. It's really wonderful to watch.
    Keep up the good work (well really just enjoy yourself, it really comes across, and transfers to the audience). I'll definitely be watching.

    Been a fan since 2004 thanks to M.Night
    The Village is actually one of my favorite movies of all time, and so many pass it up thinking it was supposed to be a horror flick. I still sing the lullaby her character sings in the film to my daughter almost every night since she was born. Bryce killed that role (and every role she's ever been in - director included....even if the Lizzo Mando episode was a bit weird 😅). Funny that her Dad's film, Apollo 13, also makes my top favorites list. She is so full of talent and heart! Beautiful inside and out

    Bryce Dallas Howard is SOOOO delightful! Having Bryce and Katee in the same place was wonderful and I can't wait until Katee brings her back on the show again. I was a little sad to hear Katee say she wouldn't want to do the TV grind again, but I don't really understand those parameters as there must be a huge difference between an eight episode season of a Star Wars property and a 20+ episode season of regular TV.
    I REALLY want to see a series about Mandalore starring Katee because The Mandalorian is such a lone wolf and cub vehicle as opposed to what it takes to rebuild a society that's been destroyed and spread across the universe. It would be an interesting exercise for people to understand the cost of the damage we are currently doing to the Earth and give us insights into how people survive and repair the planet when the worst happens and they are forced to. It would be interesting to relate the reason there were no Mandalorians in the last Star Wars movie trilogy to them focusing on the protection of their own planet and keeping Moff Gideon from having any ability to harness the power of the planet's resources.

    Oozing with talent here! Katee handled this podcast so well not a dull moment and yes Favreau is a freaking humble genius. He basically saved Marvel thru ironman 1 and the star wars franchise thru The Mandalorian. Our savior.

    It was obvious there was a different director for episode 5 of the Book of Boba Fett series. The care or clear direction was palpable almost immediately. As the credits roll and seeing that it was directed by Bryce Dallas Howard was wonderful. Very much looking forward to what she directs next!

    Wow. So started this podcast about 11 mins after it posted. I think two hours ago. Love that it went from 164 likes to 2k. I have to say I was like, whoa 1 your and 27 mins. Oi!! But y'all worked it. Didn't feel like 2 hours. And hot damn you were in sync. You'd ask a question and BDH was getting to it. Amazing interview and can't wait for the next one.

    Love your show! I hope you keep doing it. I love the atmosphere you have set up. It is like two friends just sitting down and having a chat! It is great to see two amazing strong women in the industry who some of us as non actors adore and admire, are seen as regular people. Great show! And do not feel bad about needing a hobby I have 3 kids and everyone who has kids will tell you sometimes you need a break or a quite moment. Glad to hear you have found one!
